I would like to make a few comments as a non Mancunian.
Living out in the wilds of Lincolnshire for the last 10 years and previously in Essex with no Premier club in reasonable distance, I was attracted into supporting MU by attractive attacking football, a club that nurtured rather than bought instant success and a never ever say die attitude. I supported and still support the idea that this was highly entertaining, successful and also was for the greater good of football as a whole.
How far we have fallen. I am not going to use this post to attack the manager, my feelings in that regard are well documented elsewhere. I wish LVG and the team success on Saturday and a happy retirement to the coach - I believe he has had a rough time of it and it must have taken its toll on him and his family, but fans have also suffered a this has to end.

As I said, I do not have the geographical or family ties to the club, but I never thought I might gave look elsewhere to be entertained. Apart from my own feelings I had great times watching and bonding with my grandson. - He no longer comes round as it is "too boring". Says it all really.

I suspect many worldwide may feel the same. Hope for some changes in the next couple of weeks.

Mourhino for me.

A fellow Lincolnshire yellow belly here.

18 May 2016 17:47:36
So, are you saying that as you are not entertained you will find another club to support? Really?

18 May 2016 18:03:06
AJH.
Probably not. Feelings are very strong things though, and I will admit to having been tempted.
However if we find ourselves with the clown still at the helm, I might take a sabbatical unless the philosophy changes dramatically.
Having got feelings out of the way, logic says there is no sane alternative! There is only one MU!

As a non Manchester lad can I just say I will never switch my club.

I love mufc, they have been my life for 20 odd years, I didn't start supporting them for glory or anything, my family are all reds and I was raised one. I'm happy with that.

18 May 2016 18:10:07
Many die hard fans feel the same. We will be shedding the glory hunter supporters (the ones the club relies on most) like there is no tomorrow and people that care and have followed Utd all their life will be less inclined to make sacrifices to watch the rubbish we dish up whether live or on tv. We are losing the UK child generation by being boring to watch, the overseas fans that joined recently will go elsewhere very quickly, this all takes time to effect things, but it will effect things badly if we don't make changes quickly.

I don't think many real supporters will stop watching or supporting, but I for one would rather beat the line in airport security than watch the last 30mins of the Bournemouth game last night. Even a year ago I would have probably missed my flight to watch the game.

CTR and Beast. I thoroughly agree actually.

1st time poster I'm from south africa and no matter how boring the football is I still can't support any1 else except the red devils great site.

18 May 2016 19:39:23
Never ever could I even imagine supporting anybody else.

Put us in the conference and I'd still support them.

Through thick and thin.

18 May 2016 19:41:47
United always but if LVG is here next year i will not be too bothered to watch the games tbh, quite fed up with him and this whole charade.

18 May 2016 20:00:23
Reddevil4life good to see a fellow South African.

18 May 2016 23:35:06
I can't imagine anyone changing what team they support, no matter what team it is. It's not like being married where you can get divorced. All of the "glory hunters" would have invested 20 years of their lives supporting United, you can't just flick a switch and have the same passion for another club. Football supporters are there for life.

When I were a lad I supported Clacton Town in the Eastern Counties League. I cannot imagine being as committed now as I was then.
Even MU in our present state has to be an upgrade.
I spite of opening up my soul in the original post, I am here to stay as I have been for 30years plus.

19 May 2016 10:19:44
Is Lincolnshire where everyone has monobrows and webbed toes? Or is that East Angular?

19 May 2016 13:09:11
After 10 years in Lincolnshire you are still an outsider an not entitled to an opinion.
Could not possibly comment on East Angular as I have never lived there. Clacton is in Essex and therefore geographically "Home Counties". East Anglia starts with Suffolk, North of the river Stour. There be demons - anything passes for normal!

Like Ulster perhaps?
