Shappy, you said that i was ridiculously overreacting to the loss yesterday. Ok, i might be but seriously did you not see this coming?

Its not about the result yesterday but the manner of it. Think this-

Our great manager was outclassed tactically by a novice who by the way hasn't even won the greatest league in the world, the Norwegian league.

We were outclassed by a team who we beat thrice this season yet they are in the cup final.

We were outclassed by a team who we beat thrice this season yet they sit above us in the table.

We were outfought by a team who didn't even go on a 20 match unbeaten run.

We complained about injuries and rotation yet we were beaten by a team and a manager who lost their best player before the start of the season and were banned from signing anyone.

Did you see the body language of the players yesterday. Either they were instructed to lose or they didn't believe in the strategy of the manager. Either way they didn't get out of first gear yesterday. The fastest that Rashford ran after the ball yesterday was slower than my 90 year old granny's evening walk. And he was smug about it too. De gea was smiling as he left the field. Bruno went missing for the third game in a row. AWB cannot attack to save his life.

As of this moment i simply cannot trust this team to finish the job and get into the top 4. We need to rely on WHU and Leicester to roll over and gift us but if it comes down to a fight i know where to put my money.

This isn't an over reaction to one loss, this is a reaction to 2 seasons of football under Ole and we are still 5th.

You’ve been quiet on here recently. I wondered whether our eventual first loss after an impressive run would see some overblown hyperbole by someone with an agenda. Have you got a threshold for when you might start supporting the team, manager and club again mate? Most of us are enjoying watching the resurgence of a young, exciting team so I feel sorry for you for not being part of that.

P. s. ‘Fernandes has gone missing for three games in a row’ is hilarious.

alty I think your right, a few others have gone back to basics as well after 1 defeat.

20 Jul 2020 15:07:25
Yeah, i have been missing. Just search my name and you will find a post by me after the Saints game.

I support the team and the players who fight for the club with passion. I DO NOT FANCY OLE as our manager. He is a non manager who doesn't understand tactics and has to call up SAF to ask what color underwear to put on everyday. We beat a few mighty clubs and people think its resurgence. Ole has been here 18 months and we are still 5th. We have had some good performances and then some equally pathetic ones. Someone has listed the teams we have beat and it does not make a pretty reading. We go on runs, good and bad and consistency is missing. Tactics is something that Ole knows nought of. He has spent close to 200m and we are still short of a "few good players".

My ambition of this club and my threshold is a lot higher than yours Alty and i am not happy competing for 4th and beating relegation fodder and rejoicing as if i was crowned queen.

Dont feel sorry for me. I am a winner and i am not happy if my team doesn't have a winners mentality and just bend over to a team and tell me that it was rotation. Rotation my ass. Feel sorry for losers maybe someone who is happy being 4th.

Jred, you are the same, missing when we were terrible and reappeared as soon as we won a few. What say Ken? ain't that right bud?

By the way neither of you experts gave me a proper reply to what i wrote. May be its you who has agendas.

Shan lol another for the club .
The site after a defeat is imo poor read, see above for example.

Whst do you want me to answer? If the players were instructed to lose?
Your post is ridiculous, but that's about par for the course when we lose a game .
And is probs why its mostly been ignored .

Shan, Did I see us losing a game? Yeah sure, I didn't think we would never lose a game again. It was obvious that we would lose one eventually.

It's like banking on a football manager getting sacked, its pretty much a sure thing. Only Pep and Klopp are unlikely to be sacked, I say unlikely as it isn't impossible. Pep might be the only manager who has manged for several years and for more than one club who hasn't been sacked.

So, yeah we were bound to lose one eventually, and more often than not when you lose its been a poor performance. So again not that surprising.

100% it was a bad day at the office and I can't really find any redeeming features from that game. Everything that could go wrong did. Was it Ole telling the players the FA cup doesn't matter like some have insinuated on here? I doubt it. I suspect several factors played into it. Physical and mental fatigue, Chelsea being really up for it, the wrong tactics, our players seeing a colleague leaving the field in a head brace on a spinal board, the reshuffling of the shape and tactics, some players just having a bad game.

It was a bad game, but it doesn't rewrite the 19 games before it. Nor will winning against West Ham get us in the FA cup final. If we get the results to get us into the top four will that mean we have had a good season? If we miss out will it change that?

Football is a game of opinions, fans can't even agree on in game refereeing decisions.

For some football is a passion, something they enjoy. They sing when we're winning, they sing when we are losing. For others they use football to vent their own personal frustrations. They tend to stay quite when we are winning, but come out all guns blazing when we lose. They seem to want us to fail as it gives them the "excuse" they are looking for to go off on one, and that's fine.

You’ve been missing and happened to be back to post after the saints game and after this game, why does that surprise me? You can’t expect anyone to take you seriously doing that Shan come on, play the game.

20 Jul 2020 16:14:15
Good post shan i don't agree with all of it but a very good post. Quite perceptive imo.

20 Jul 2020 17:38:30
Thats fine GDS, I am posting my opinion and don't expect you to agree to that. And to jred it sounds ridiculous, fair enough. Its the same feeling for me reading posts of popes like yourselves that everything is heavenly fine. In all honesty i am not a fan of Ole the manager just because he scored a goal and i won't be happy unless i see something radical that changes the fortunes of our club or we employ a proper manager who knows what he is doing.

You are free to ignore or not take my post seriously as you see fit but i will keep posting whenever i wish to and not when you think i should. You think i am posting to say "I told you so" so be it.

I am the antimatter to all your matter.

20 Jul 2020 17:39:01
Of course I don’t think that 4th is enough, what a silly thing to say. But still very much in with a chance at 3rd behind the two best teams in the world is not all bad, especially considering we play attractive football again and seem to be going pretty convincingly in the right direction. Following any sport is as much about the game as it is the result. It would be boring otherwise.
