When utd played their youngsters against Astana, we were slated for getting a draw in the Europa league.

Liverpool play their youngsters against Villa. They get quite a lot of sympathy for losing.

Admittedly Villa are probably better than Astana, but playing away in the Europa league isn't exactly easy especially when your a young kid.

We fielded a young team, but Liverpool fielded three 17 year olds, two 18 year olds and a 16 year old. Seven players 18 or younger.

All of them are younger than Brandon Williams. The oldest player Liverpool had on the pitch was a recently turned 22 year old.

It was a ridiculously young side. And to be fair to them they had more possession, more shots and more shots on target.

Villa were 4-0 at half time having only had 3 shots on target.

They didn't deserve to lose like that, and maybe even deserved tp get at least a draw out of the game.

I think they earned a little praise.

As for our youngsters not getting enough praise, firstly they are mostly older than half of the Liverpool side. Secondly, a draw was about the right result. Thirdly, Liverpool were playing in a quarter final of a domestic cup, while we were playing in a group game that held little significance.

The British press are always going to report more on a domestic competition that a European one, especially the second rate European competition.

Yeah there does appear to be more praise put on Liverpool than ourselves. But we just need to suck it up. On the whole for how Liverpool are performing currently they probably earned a little praise.

Shappy,

Those kid slast night played some good football, but because its Liverpool they get the negative comments made about them.

Maybe Mad Hatter, but to be honest I felt sorry for those kids last night. They played well and didn't deserve the beating they got.

Four of the starting 11 technically aren't old enough to leave school, these aren't 19/ 20 year olds who are struggling to break into the starting 11 of a top side. These are lads who shouldn't even be in with a chance of breaking in to the first team for another couple of years.

Utter rubbish, I watched the match, villa had only one recognisable name in their side, the rest were no hopers. They completely thrashed liverpool, young or not young. They could've had a lot more. The commentary was so liverpool biased, it was embarrassing.
United fielded a very young side few years ago when Dele Alli played for milton Keynes Dons and we lost 4 nil. The commentary and papers the next day was scathing with criticism of how bad our players were, and rightly so.
Out of all the liverpool players on show last night, only two might make the grade at PL level.
