Gerrard go to Villa, style changes good football, win games
Tuchel goes to Chelsea win games and champs league
Conte goes to Spurs, rubbish players worse then ours but they win
Ralf, comes to united, we score less goals win less games, bore the life out of fans, upset 90% players, wipe value of players saying they no good, but he doing a good job.! Wow.

Agree0 Disagree0

I should have added I don’t really dislike him, but he out of depth in this job
He talk honest in press, but is that just stupidity and lack of experience at this level, reason why no other manager/ coach does it in elite sports level

I be shocked if come new season he anywhere near united at any level! He will be gone with big fat wallet!

Chelsea had a brilliant squad in place (think Lampard bought in at least half a dozen starters) .
Same with Villa, on a lesser scale.
Spurs had a great first XI.
I think all the respective new managers have done in each case is restore the belief and morale that was gone, then the quality wins through.

Yet it hasn't been that way for Ralph thus far. He seems a very positive leader and good talker. I think the two factors going against Utd are that the midfield needs a complete reboot, and this formation isn't helping which is being torn apart by pundits and opposition managers were happily dissecting it in their post-match interviews after beating us.

But I hold out a little hope that the tide is turning. Things get a bit out of control here, we won last night and not much has been said other than that Dave the Save kept us in it or we were lucky. We drew the other day and you'd think we were in a C.V. Oh.

I can’t agree that Villa or Spurs had better squad then ours or anywhere near it I am sorry, maybe Chelsea, but look at result turnaround with them.

I don’t see what you see with tide turn either, I think it worse now then ever in my opinion, our captain and 80m player hears he not good enough (we knew that) but you don’t say it as manager, same with full backs, he creating a big load of problems in my view that will end in tears come May.

Maverick, you must have missed the football we played under Ole.

Rangnick has been there 5 minutes. We are 5th, 2 points off 4th.

Second half v Brentford, we started to see a little bit of what he is trying to do.

What's gerrards record at villa?

20 Jan 2022 21:02:33
Ken, 10 games 4 wins, 1 draw and 5 losses.

Although to be fair the defeats have come against City, Liverpool, Chelsea, United in the FA cup and Brentford.

With wins against Brighton, Palace, Norwich and Leicester.

On the balance of things I'd say so far Gerrard has been fairly average. He's beaten the teams Villa should be beating and lost to teams better than them.

His two best results are beating an out of sorts Leicester who had quite a few injuries at the time and a draw against us where we desperately tried to give them all three points.

He looks like a promising young manager, but he hasn't ripped up any trees at Villa yet. Maybe that will change if Coutinho and Digne do well. Also rumours of Suarez coming in on a short term deal.

Ultimately it's far too early to judge Gerrard at Villa only ten games in, much like it's far to early to judge Ralf Rangnick after his first 10 games (6 wins, 3 draws, 1 loss) .

My only issue with RR so far is that when he arrived he spoke of studying UTDs games on video this season. He also said in 2019 we were very unbalanced with the wrong personnel throughout the squad.

Obviously we don't know what's happening at board level but why we weren't spending 15 mill on 1st January on a DM is a shock to me-Its a massive problem for us -we all know this. Kessie/ Zakaria/ Kamara all in that price range due to running down contracts. The difference in 4th or 5th place finish financially is huge - yes a new manager is coming in but any of those 3 players I don't beleive will be a problem for a new manager and once they sign on the dotted line thier re sale value goes up.

I honestly thought RR would have pushed that through he has seen in every game since he arrived how teams just walk through our midfield .2 weeks left so who knows.

Still 10 days to go.

21 Jan 2022 00:08:57
Ralfs era is like a preseason for us i think. We didn't choose him for instant success.

21 Jan 2022 00:30:35
Score less goals and win less games than when? 1999? We won yesterday and scored 5 in the last 2 games, we’ve lost one match since Ralf took over although listening to the press about the crisis we are in you'd think we haven’t won a match in 3 months.

It was never going to happen overnight but there are a few shoots of light, some players who looked totally lost are looking better, he’s brought in Elanga who Ole ridiculously ignored after he was the best player in pre season. He’s doing good things, it’s not been amazing but give him some time. By the way, if we win our games in hand we would be 3 points behind Chelsea and we’ve been terrible, maybe Tuchel not doing quite the job you think he is.

21 Jan 2022 02:31:27
Agree with your point on the press GDS. Everyone seems to be a man utd critic these days - especially ex arsenal and Liverpool players.

Only response is results, just pick up points and grow confidence. Long way to go in the season, good news is we can play a lot better. I would like to see another holding mid, matic cannot do it alone. Fred and McTom are actually okay, but better with a dcm.

21 Jan 2022 04:13:28
I think the op is a troll.
Gerrard has lost 5 times the matches than Ralf has.
Tuchel is starting to struggle at Chelsea.

Ole was the one who caused problems in the dressing room. False Promising players on game time, poor coaching, terrible set-piece coach appointment and blocking youth.

21 Jan 2022 10:27:05
Lad's, why encourage an obvious troll by engaging in debate with them?

{Ed014's Note - for me if your English isn’t great as you are from another country who do you manage to write in somewhat broken English but then say “in my view that will end in tears come May” a typically English saying and big give away for me.

But hey, each to their own!

21 Jan 2022 10:36:48
Mr Tansylvania, what is the prattle above? Gerard is a flog.

21 Jan 2022 10:39:51
I reckon we have decent players or some but not a decent team as they don't gel or compliment each other; that is the coaches job but can only work with what he has. RR, its early days and if what we are told occurs, that he will move upstairs in the summer, then the next coach. I have previously slated players but mainly for the lack of effort and failure to work to achieve their capabilities but we have got to rid the club of a bunch of them and and only bring in those that will compliment the remainder.
Not just my opinion but the majority of pundits/ experts have always stated we have a top class squad over the past 4/ 5 seasons and surely they can't all be wrong.?

21 Jan 2022 11:31:21
? Maze is now arguing with his split personalities.

21 Jan 2022 11:49:50
James, please don’t be a mooncalf. Please add some substance. Obsessed.

21 Jan 2022 13:51:32
James?

21 Jan 2022 14:59:30
Hes probably forgot to log out of one of his accounts ?.

21 Jan 2022 16:36:34
You could not have hand picked our list of fixtures better since Ralf come if you tried.
Villa have had more much much difficult games.

Ed014…We use same expression …end in tears… it’s not just England you know! You find many sayings same world over, U. K. don’t own all sayings.

{Ed014's Note - of course, how silly of me!
