Phil Neville is cracking up. Lingard has just come back from being out injured and was lacking match fitness/ sharpness. His performance was some what to be expected, especially when it's a derby game. Mata hasn't performed well in the 10 position.
If I performed they way Rooney has at work i'd be out of a job.
He's by no means the only one, although his preferential treatment has meant he plays no matter how he performs.
Given what Ed001 has said about him, hopefully this is last season. When a player is played due due his markebility over his performances, then the football principles that most of us have grown up on have been thrown out of the window.
Essentially clubs and national teams are preferring to select players based on shirt sales instead of winning cups.

Stand. I can think of someone a lot closer to home that comes up with rationale like that to choose Rooney. Lol😆.

I heard a few comments made about Rooneys nearly record breaker for Man Utd. get rid before he destroys THE legacy! In my mind and probably a few others, Rooney doesn't deserve to overtake Sir Bobby. EVER!
