We can debate tradition, heritage, history, tactics or style until we're all blue in the face but it won't make a drop of difference.

The brutal truth is we now play the Jose way. We now dance to his tune, we now follow his ideology. He won't change the very principles that has brought him success his entire career. He's even come out and said it now.

My stance is this. He got it wrong on Tuesday night. Terribly wrong. That being said maybe we all under under estimated Sevilla. Three Europa League's in a row and a Spanish Cup final tells you that are no mugs. We didn't play well on the night and we're out. At the highest level, especially in Europe if you don't turn up you go home it's as simple as that.

The board are only interested in pounds and pence, increasing revenue and exploiting the brand. A top 4 finish is their idea of panacea so don't expect Jose to be going anywhere anytime soon.

To his distractors, if you don't like the brand of football vote with your feet. This is the only currency the board understands.

To the rest let's accept this is the Jose show. It might not be the Utd way but we can't argue that it hasn't brought him success at several different clubs across Europe's top leagues. History tells us he won't be here forever. I was angry, I'm still hurting but maybe the only way we will be able to judge his reign is after he's gone and hope for better days ahead. Let him do his job, trust his pedigree and console ourselves in the fact that even though the football may never be thrilling the trophy cabinet may still yet tell another story.

It's far to early to judge Just yet.

Im with you danny. If the board back him and its the same this time next year and we have not improved style wise and result wise then ill change my tune. But for me he took over the worst squad in recent history that needed major surgery in almost evrry position. It has been done in smaller bites than say chelsea and city did. I trust him to get it right. So far he has tbis bunch in 2nd place that's huge improvement on the last 4 seasons.
The style arguments are right too. That needs improving too.

Agree with both of you.

Style will not really change to be fair. It will just be more effective once he has the bought the right players or if the existing players decide to change their attitude and work on the same length as the manager.

I agree Ken. People like to dismiss the first 5 years under Fergi and pretend it didn't happen. I don't remember too much cavalier football being played back then.

Don't get me wrong I'm no fool and I know the landscape of football has changed considerably since then but as we've been taking about history maybe we should heed a lesson from our own past and put more faith and trust in a man with a proven pedigree and track record and dare to believe better times lie ahead.

People have dodgy memories. To say it took SAF 5 years to pay to attractive football is complete nonsense. He arrived in Nov ‘86, we won the FA Cup in 1990, his third full season. We won the Cup Winners Cup the year after and I remember us beating Arsenal 6-2 at Highbury in ‘90.

SAF’s issue was he finished second in his first full season and he says himself he should have started rebuilding earlier than he did. City smashed us 5-1 at Main Rd in ‘89 which was when it was getting very rough. That was the season that caused people to question him and 1990 wasn’t much better but we won the Cup and the rest is history.

It may have taken some time for the full beautiful football to arrive but we rarely played for a draw, set up to defend, stifle the opposition. People have very strange memories when it comes to SAf’s early years. He bought some dodgy players and it took him a couple of years to find a winning formula, but his team always tried to win.

Loved it . We all now know he is here to stay and if he departs then we will have to sack him. He is building an empire and a couple more pieces and it will be complete. BORN WINNER😆😆.
