We are weak in midfield, have been for years, so it will be more of McFred, 2 holding and defensive football, likely Ronaldo frustrated at the lack of support.

We have had a good transfer window but holding onto Lingaard and DVB and therefore not signing a top defensive midfielder undoes most of the good work. We won't dominate games from midfield and the top teams will expose our midfield defensive frailties.
Meantime Chelsea sign a top player on loan in Saul and that's the difference between them and us and their chances of winning the title.
They already had Kante and go sign another strong player who can defend and play out from defence into attack.
In Spain Madrid have been very clever and used the weakness of that league to not spend a fortune whilst saving money to pay huge wages to next seasons free signings like Mbappe. They are planning ahead and looking and hoping to dominate for years to come.

RedMan - there is surely something positive you can take out of this window? Everyone is entitled to their opinion of course but it’ll be helpful to understand the thinking framework behind it. Shappy does an excellent job explaining it in every post, Ken finally cares about points and everything else will align of that happens etc. For what it seems, just Ole out seems to be thinking behind all your posts.

Why you worrying about Chelsea, personally don’t think Saul improves them that much if at all their very good in that area anyway!? Who cares, we’ve improved our starting 11 by some distance! A midfielder would of been nice but what do we know! Whoever asked me should we win league, judging by some on here avoiding relegation would be some achievement 🤣! Let’s see how we go, as I’ve said previously look up our starting 11 from 3 1/ 2 - 4 years ago and then tell me we’re not doing something right! 🔴.

The window has been good, addressed some but not all issues. There has been a midfield problem for several years whilst watching Matic decline and it is frustrating we will go through another season without a decent central midfield. It makes it harder for us to control games, therefore play differently. It means we more likely to have to play as we have done than see much change. We now rely on individual creative ability even more, although Ronaldo could be a good addition when playing like that.
Separate to that I still doubt Ole has what it takes to win the league, happy to be proved wrong, whilst supporting the club that I have for well over 50 years. It is allowed to do both.

Let’s play, your right let’s see what they can do but as far as transfer window goes the club have done very well, struggled to shift few more unfortunately that might have helped get that midfielder in but looking forward to seeing how this squad evolves further this season!
