Another MOM yesterday for James Garner in a very physical game against bitter rivals Derby.

His loan spell at Forest seems to be a success as the fans love him.

Be great to see him earn a shot at O. T.

I'm excited to see what he can do in the EPL. For me the championship is a far tougher league and much better at preparing players for the EPL than many of the other top European leagues. There are no easy games in the Championship.

I think he looks ready for a squad role with us. Personally I'd look to only bring in one midfielder this summer and give Garner a chance to be the 4th choice midfielder and see if he can step up.

Would have been better for him to have a season at a lower Premier League club than go back to Forest, see if he can cut it at a higher level.

He needs a Norwich/ Burnley/ Leeds kind of loan next season - whoever of the three survives in the PL.

I think the Championship is a great grounding, look at how Mount developed at Derby. Playing for a bottom level team in the EPL won’t be any fun.

I’d like him to start the 2022/ 23 season with us and if game time is limited, a loan to a club like Fulham if they get promoted.

Game time is the key, 130 minutes across a whole season at a relegation threatened EPL side is a waste of a year for him.

Plus ideally you want him playing in a similar manner to how our team will play. If loaned to a team like Burnley for example I doubt there is much from a tactics perspective that Dyche will teach him that will be of benefit in a side hopefully challenging for titles.

Like mentioned above the Championship has been a great training ground for many players.

Downsie,

I’m sure the Leeds fans would welcome the lad with open arms ?.

On loan to somewhere like Brighton or Southampton would do him a world of good. Maybe on loan part of a deal for Bissouma? One can only hope!

Why loan him out though? If he's good enough for Brighton, Southampton etc then he's already better than Fred.

Take him on tour and give him some game time in the first team in the first few weeks of the season and see how he does. I think he will suprise a few.

I agree Shappy, these players need to be given a chance as does Hannibal.
We could unearth a gem in the central midfield area.
It's not like Garner is trying to dislodge Keane and Scholes in Midfield, its Fred and Mctominay!

I too think he can be a member of our team. I would like Garner Hannibal Rice Belligham Scott Bruno and one more in our midfield going forward. 5 of them being homegrown and three of them being from our academy.
