Is anyone in the know-how on what's going on with Bruno Fernandes?
We really need a goal threat from midfield and he seems to be what we need - someone who can contribute goals as well as assists. Right now, Pogba is the only one who can, but we can't count on him to do a consistent job as well as his desire to leave isn't what we need.
It will be interesting to see if we sign Fernandes and how quickly he does settle in and the impact he can have on a consistent basis, but it is frustrating that this transfer saga is getting dragged on for so long.
{Ed004's Note - I liked the formation we went with the other night. I think it is tailored made for Bruno to play where Mata and Lingard played. I might be in the minority but I dont see Pogbas best position as playing in the number 10. I feel we need one primarily defensive midfielder (ideally a new signing with plenty of mobility - Longstaff? but Mctominay could be an alternative), a box to box midfielder (Pogba best position - allow him freedom to get forward but he will have to work hard while pressing like everyone else) and an attacking midfielder (Bruno). All 3 midfielders would be mobile and if we are going to press higher in the field everyone will have to put hard work in.
When we play the top sides an attacker could be dropped with extra legs brought into midfield like Matic, McTominay, Fred etc}

Agree with you Ed.
With Pogba in the team, we are effectively defending with 10 when not in position and in the PL particularly it is not acceptable.
