Ed001 or ed002, yous seem to have your finger on the pulse of world football for a long time. Can you remember why the FA stopped Murdochs takeover bid back for us in the 90's? Was it conflict of interest or other clubs complaining? Was talking with a mate about a few different sliding doors moments that would have drastically changed our clubs history and that seems to be one of the biggest in the last 20 odd years. He thinks we would have won more than we need in the prevailing years.

{Ed002's Note - It was deemed anti-competitive because of his ownership of BSkyB as it was then called.}

I seem to have a vague recollection, was it Fergie or Martin Edwards who said be careful what you wish for. There was an equal outcry then (think green and gold), and fans celebrated in the streets. Of course the club was on the stock exchange, owned by no one, so any Tom, Magnier or Glazer could just swoop in.

If's and buts, sliding doors, what if Fergie had not took the court action re Rock of Gibraltar?

{Ed002's Note - It would have made no difference - it was a simple dispute over an unclear legal document about ownership.}
