We got away with one today. We had a tough draw last week with a none decision that could have been given foul. Strange one today, not sure how the foul is not given. If that happens against us we'd be up un arms. Got to feel for wolves.
I have to say, that wolves team will surely not be in trouble this season. The back 5 are all solid. Two good CMs and a front 3 plus Podence who are all dangerous on the break.
For utd, the conundrum of Pogba continues. He isn't good in a midfield 2. He suits playing wide and drifting in to pockets of space. If he does play CM he is better driving forward with the ball, which he didn't do today.
James is a few leagues above his level. Fred played pretty well second half. First half was hit and miss.
DDG made a worldy for the rebound. Wolves keeper also made a worldy finger tip save from Greenwood but they didn't pick up the touch, so no corner.
I think this squad has a lot of promise for the season. Sancho fernandes cavani Ronaldo Greenwood rashford Pogba Donny (surely james and Martial need to leave for the season? Elanga for minutes somewhere else? )
How do we get as many match winners I the pitch as possible but still have control and balance in our play? going to be a long and exciting season!

I thought pogba played well in the second half, drove us forward and play some really good passes.
First half he was awful as was everyone.
Today was more about team structure for, bruno looks like he's playing as a striker not a number 10. AWB looked like he was playing as a centre back in a back3. Could not work out what the game plan was today.

Pogba needs a capable holding midfielder sat next to him or a Kante type who covers more ground that two men. Fred is useless and I’ve no idea why we bought him.
An Ndidi, Neves or even Phillips would make all the difference. I’m not a fan of Rice - he’s hugely overrated.
The difference now is that Varane looks world class and likely to live up to his CV.

Pogba and Fred played well second half. That was when Wolves pressing intensity dropped a little and they had more time on the ball. PPs problem is he wants too much time, too many touches. It is okay if he then dribbles past the press, because he opens up the field. But if possession is slow and then goes to a wide player it just doesn't go anywhere.
Doesn't help when obe wan is the player getting the ball in space. Or dan james.

Cannot understand why James is even in the squad.
Why not start sancho on the right? Pogba on the left, as he is useless going backwards, and donny in the middle next to Fred today?
Surely more balanced?
