I just read a great article on the goal website, " tactically outdated mourinho must re invent himself"
Is quite a good read and some of the things you could say about LVG
He will come to the club with a lot to prove and I hope he is a success otherwise his appointment will put us further behind.

Agree2 Disagree1

Funny how when you were reading this, I was reading an article that mentioned some of those matches where this tactical genius outwitted the best in the business. And the punch line read "You call it parking, I call it winning".

Until his disastrous last 4 months with chelsea, people never doubted him as the best manager in the world and his key criticism was his personality.

I don't think he has to reinvent anything tbh put to reign in some of his questionable behavioural stuff. As a football tactician, motivator of players etc etc i have no concerns. Very large majority of his players love him and speak so highly of him.

Good point Shan. Its nice to be proven right mate isn't it. Its a results business and Jose is a winner. In big games who cares if he defends a 1-0 for 50 mins. 😆😆.

Never said he wasn't a tactical genius, in big games he sets his team up to win, which is all u can ask for, I think the forum may be split 50-50 with the appointment of mourinho, thought I would give a little reading for them, I'm interested to read the article u read Shan.

I was always impressed. Y how he reacted when things were not working out. He never just sat there, he would inrtervene and skate things up, probably more than SAF did. She it comes to tactics I think he is probably better than SAF.

Interesting to see if his Chelsea meltdown was a one off, it's never been explained what happened or why some players stopped playing for him.

Tony

Fabregas had an interview on the subject and said Mourinho's fate in the players led to his downfall. He said something along the lines he gave them the extra time off after the euros and many players came back late before the season not fit and hence why they had a horrid start and then as it happens a bad break here and there and things just got out of control.

I can't remember any player having played for him saying anything negative about him and in some ways he is like Fergie and rarely criticises individual players and blames everything but the sun for a bad performance.

Zlatan in his book says he would die for mourinho which is quite interesting when you compare what he has to say about guardiola.
