Seriously can't believe people writing players like Memphis off after a few games, in a new league, in a new country and at the grand old age of 21! Unbelievable!

He has been up and down, but needs to play consistently to help settle in. If he does, we'll reap the rewards next season, if not he'll take a lot longer reach the level he is capable of.

People are expecting way to much, shit was mentioned further down the page and that he is going to be 22 so he should basically man up, ridiculous that he is being ridiculed so early into his man utd career.

Some people were definitely expecting too much too soon, he's doing fine considering his age. However I don't see an issue in rotating him with Young/Pereira whilst his form is patchy. He'll get plenty of games and it might just do him good being phased back in more gently.

Agree with all the above some were saying that him and Rooney will score 20 goals each and it is ridiculous statement. Once he's settled he'll be great for us. Agree with HB point rear rotation too.

Some may have been expecting too much too soon but he has been disappointing. I'm not saying we should drop him or loan him (!), but this is where LVG needs to earn his money. We have signed a player with huge potential but he is struggling. As for the Tonaldo comparisons, people are quick to forget that on his 1st year Ronaldo spent most of it falling over; yes he had talent but it's easy to forget that he was nowhere near the finished article. He became a truly great players playing form us

AJH,

Ronaldo spent his first season falling over but Fergie kept playing him and believing in him, so why is it wrong if LVG does the same with Depay . For all that people say he's been disappointing, he's got four goals in eleven games and a few assists . He's getting himself into good positions to score, even thought he's disappointing at times in his decision making he still makes things happen .

He is no Ronaldo and some you guys need a head check lol. Using Fergie and Ronaldo to justify him getting picked game after game is not a valid argument.

If we are going to discuss Ronaldo we might as well mention that 10 years ago what you were allowed to do compared to today in terms of defending has drastically changed. Ronaldo got kicked all game long. Ashley Cole who was considered a world class left back would kick him and foul him for 90 minutes as he struggled with covering him.

Ronaldo was no ronaldo in his first few seasons with us GCU. You can't compare a lad who is 21 years old with the ronaldo of now, that is a much less valid argument. At 21 Ronaldo had been in the league a while and had already adapted to it, Memphis is totally new to this league and developing his game also.
