The GOAT Fellaini.

Agree1 Disagree1

Not a bad player eh?

02 Jul 2018 21:05:10
He came on and changed the game. I am his worst critic, but that was mightily impressive.

02 Jul 2018 21:00:29
Chuffed for the big fella.

02 Jul 2018 21:07:42
Good point Schmid. Does he look as good for us as he does for Belgium, or even for Everton? He used to scare the beejesus out of us when he was at Everton yet at United he looks stunted. When he’s up for it and rampaging he is scary, yet we don’t see it at OT often enough.

02 Jul 2018 21:21:43
He hasn't been given much opportunity AJH.

I think he is looks as scary when he plays for us. I just believe our fans don't think he is good enough. Therefore their opinion is somewhat skewed.

02 Jul 2018 21:42:57
You would think with his physicality he'd have been a starter against Japan, some dubious tactics from Martinez until he made the two changes.

02 Jul 2018 21:45:37
I’m not a fan angel, but he hasn’t been the same layer for us as he was at Everton. We need to release the beast within him.

02 Jul 2018 22:37:15
I think this shows why keeping Fellaini rather than shelling out £40m plus £200k a week on another players whose reputation may exceed their contribution was an extremely good piece of business by United.

02 Jul 2018 22:54:49
You have to admit that he does the whole Fellaini thing better than anyone.

03 Jul 2018 00:58:49
I'm with you Tony. He never looks mobile playing for us. Yet he was full of energy and creative running for Belgium. We've extended his contract, so let's see what happens.

Perhaps it’s players around him or the tactics but fellaini looks a different player for Belgium. Not his biggest fan but fair play to the lad. Made a difference when he came on and seems to be a popular member of the squad. So a fact last night that he has more career goals than Danny welbeck. That is pretty impressive from a midfielder. But on the other hand, it shows how poor danny’s record is! Fantastic game anyway and this World Cup has been amazing. My favourite yet.

I'm not a fan and still not convinced he's good enough. The difference is Everton and Belgium play him further with quick mobile players. We put him further back with not much movement ahead of him.

03 Jul 2018 12:51:59
The thing is that he is a decent player. He does a job holding up the ball, bullying defenders, and offering a major target in the box. The difference with Belgium is that they use him properly, and have people who can cross the ball.

I can see why Jose kept him, he can be an excellent impact player at times.

We tend to play him too deep - I'd love to see him higher up the pitch when he come on in the ten role.
