Why sell Mata? He's been an absolute professional since arriving, does exactly what he's told, never complains and comes up with passes no one else can see!

Modric is the same age as Schweinsteiger when we brought him in last summer, over 30 and look how many people were not happy. Do we need another over 30 midfielder in a league that is more physical than he has been playing in for the last few years? Not for me, we need to use the experience we have and look forward. We have seen the decline in Carrick and injuries to Schweinsteiger. It is not time to buy Modric.

I'm sorry but there is one thing I agree with lvg on and that is age is just a number if you are good enough that is all that matters.

True but in Fairness Redman Schweinsteiger looks about 50 when he's on the pitch, Modric doesn't look like he runs through treacle either and by last nights showing didn't look a 30 year old. Neither did Giggs some players just have longevity when it comes down to it.
The reason I said Modric for Mata is he breaks much quicker and can keep up the break with Bale and Ronaldo but still control the midfield when required. Him alongside Herrera and Schneiderlin would be mouth watering.

Red Man Modric is in physically better shape than Bastian and will be able to play for a longer time. He hasn't been in the battles during his football career as he has been more the Maestro than part of the orchestra his entire career.
He is one player that we missed a trick on when we didn't sign him up years ago.

Modric in my opinion is the best in the world at what he does. I think Pjanic is the closest thing to him that would be possible.

Any player is gettable with the right offer Mort and incentives to the player Mort. All that needed to happen is for Modric to be convinced to throw his toys out the pram and United to throw enough to money at Spurs.
