Excellent result yesterday.

Secondly I see LVG has confirmed he will retire in 2017 and he wants to leave a legacy and young team for the next manager. He may not be everyone's cup of tea but I really like what he's doing. Hopefully we see a few more young players come in a Stones or Laporte perhaps.

I really think we need a right wing forward for me there are two real stand out young players. Domenico Berardi, who until his injury continued his fine form from the previous two seasons or Anwar El

I agree in principe with what your saying. LVG like the EDs have said is doing a full over haul at Utd. At least we're buikding for the future.

However the stature of the club and given its succes over the least 20 years give or take we shouldn't have to be doing a complete over haul. Tweaking here or there yes. It's like buying a house and after x amount of years knocking it down and rebuilding from the foundations up. Should this be really happening or as a club have we become so arrogant we believe that we were simply the best?

Mad Hatter, tweaking is all well and good but Fergie stopped tweaking and seemed to refuse to buy central midfielders in particular year after year. LVG was selected to do the dirty work that Fergie and Moyes didn't do and I think he does it well.

I know there are a lot of guys that don't like LVG or his processes and philosophy but surely everyone must agree that he will leave the club with a far greater squad than he found it with.

I'm obviously not an LVG fan, but the squad needed an overhaul and by the sounds of it so does a hell of a lot else to do with the club. It seems from the top down we have been resting on our laurels, the commercial side is taking over the quality of the product and that is a recipe for disaster - the brand only survives if there is a good product behind it.

So I hope he does go in 2017, leaving a settled, young, ambitious squad, enabling a manager with a more attacking focus to take over with the same professionalism that I am sure LVG will install in the players. If that is the plan I can cope with that.

I suppose a lot will have to do with who buys the club and what their focus is. It wouldn't surprise me that whoever buys the club goes down the "galactico" route though as they will have money to burn, cancelling out the work we are doing buying in youth to a degree. What happens off the pitch may be more entertaining than what happens on it for the next few years.

You've missed my point. I was trying to say that we shouldn't have to do a complete over haul, which is what we're are doing now. It's because that our academy and scouting network was inept to a certain degree. I was pointing out that the new manager should have only needed 2 maybe 3 players from a complete squad. Instead we're building from the foundations up as I clearly stated. We shouldn't be in this position. SAF has to share the blame and all the other people associated we with the day to day running of the club.

Beast, that's an interesting point the ownership question. I guess it depends if we get oil/Internet money of an investment house. The Eds have eluded to a 2017 sale with the Glazers wanting top cash for the club so there are very few options for ownership I would guess. I hope as you said we do not go down the galatico route and undo what would be three years of restructuring.

Agree with a lot about the rebuilding that has been said but we really should invest in the academy and youth policy as it seems to have fallen behind a good bit by general consensus.Pleased with what could have been a tricky game yesterday , especially the result and things are looking a lot better than this time last year.
