City broke every record going last season playing some of the best footy the EPL has seen .
I'm not sure there has been many if any better teams than city in the EPL .
People won't like me saying that but I'm a football fan so credit were it's due .
United didn't reach there level but we were a better team than all the rest so I don't really get all the doom and gloom .
The problem is city have raised the bar they have spent money for years just like United have of late but it wasn't until pep come in that they stepped up a full level .
If we want to be top dogs again and I think city will improve again this year United really need to step up a level .
The big question is is Jose really the man to build a team and I hate to use the word but build a philosophy to reach that level?
I think his best days are behind him the fire has gone out, Madrid broke him a bit he has been at the top a long time but football has moved on .

Who is the person to take us forward then j? I agree to an extent but surely the club needs to learn from mistakes and keep continuity. Problem is have the club got a plan? That's what worries me.

Our problem as a club Jred has been complacency. We were top dogs for so long that I don't think we looked for enough ahead and properly planned for life after SAF. Now we are playing catch up and trying to buy our way back to the top (or not this window? ) .
It just doesn't work like that these days. City in particular took several years to get where they are now, but their long term plan has paid dividends.
We need to go back to the drawing board, and start again with a young manager who can bring fresh ideas and build a team - not put together a bunch of names.
Individuals may win games, but teams win trophies.

Did United take a chance on fergy?

I agree with a lot of that.
I think fergy was a one of and even us fans became complacent.
I think United are going through what every other team and fans in the epl have been going through over the past few years .
Maybe people though man United was different when really it was fergy who was the difference.
During his time all the other clubs had different managers so. e good some bad but we had fergy.
I still think some fans are coming to terms with life after the great man .

Pochetino I'd take as long as the club had a five year plan in place to help him.
Still think if the club and Jose could work together we'd be a lot better off.
Hopefully today passes and we don't panic buy, the squad has the players we just need the old Jose.
