Has anyone seen that BBC article about how jose is taking charge of all aspects of the club? He is upset with how the club is being run from the pre-season tours, sport science development and the players fitness, something that has been debated a bit over the last few years.

I think in todays modern game players need to be extremely fit, not on their ability to run for 90 minutes as that's discrediting previous generations, but their ability to play consistently game after game. This is an area I think our physios fail. We tend to get a lot of injuries, I think we have ten players out at the moment. However this was also an issue under lvg, with many blaming his training methods. When you consider the intensity of the league and the high press style being played by a number of teams at the moment, assessing and sorting that area out is a good move by Jose?

Agree5 Disagree1

A lot of people in here have been saying it's been too easy for too many for too long.
Strong leadership is needed to get back on track. Jose had that experience he had the credentials. I support him 100% in those endeavours.
Yes he will upset a few and will make some mistakes but show me a man that had never made mistakes and or poor decisions during such a big process.

Similar stories came out when moyes and lvg were in charge, its a good excuse.

Yeah read it, interesting read and if so Jose has a big job to do so we all need to get behind him.

The injury issues have been issue for many years even going as far back as Sir Alex's final years, Saha, Hargreaves, Smalling, Jones, Vidic, Rafael, Fabio, Valencia, Smith ect we have had injury issues for years. I think we have been in the top three for injuries every year for the last 5-6 years. At one point it was considered the even the training pitch was at fault and it was tore up and relaid. Maybe a lack of progress in the sports science/ medical side of things taken hold, could well be an area effected by cuts/ lack of investment by our owners.

We have known for a while things were quite right behind the scenes, Moyes started an overturn in scouting, LvG with the youth set up, now Mourinho with sport science/ medical department.

When stepping back every manager has seen a club with serious faults behind the scenes.

It makes you ask just how much was Sir Alex able to compensate for.

It's worrying considering United invested millions into their sports science department not long ago.

Ken

I totally agree.

Has a king sized omelette to fix. He is going to break a few eggs not unlike site Alex he had taken over a club that and team under performing. Full of over paid poor buys with what soars to be a lazy or easy culture. A squad capable of winning a cup but not a league because of a poor mentality and bad habits. He will sort it out.
Imo.

Totally agree Ken. We look for strong management and when Jose tries to do that, people knock him for it.
He IS doing the right thing. There's no doubt the club has been a shambles behind the scenes and things need sorting out.

Nowt the matter with shaking things up
Or making a mistake here or there, like any manager not every thing Jose does will be right
But we have a good manager and squad, do see a problem myself.

10 Nov 2016 19:14:49
I understand you don't see a problem but the manager and the eds have said there are. Jose is probably better placed to know so if he says so there is problems.

10 Nov 2016 21:45:41
I think he means he doesn't see a problem with Jose sorting it all out, even if that means ruffling a few feathers? I red Jred's post as agreeing with you Ken.

This stinks of organisational issues. In this business, the man accountable for short term results should not be accountable for long term strategy. The two should be seperate but aligned.

11 Nov 2016 07:50:36
MDH, could this be the reason the club are working hard searching for a director of football?

Dodgy
Spot on pal, some are just looking for an argument.
