You know what I an going to let the last couple of performances slide for the time being and see how this all plays out. I will even throw the team some water wings and let the game against City slide because as you all like to point out constantly "Pep is the messiah" and I think we will put in another embarrassing showing.

I am going to give Jose the following 3 league matches to show me what he is made of and if he is just out of form or indeed out of touch. I made my mind up early about LVG and was ultimately proved right and the more I see Jose's gameplans, demeanour and press conferences I am pretty close to making another early call.

Like I said I will allow these performances to drift under the radar for now and give him and the most extravagantly paid players in the PL a lifeline. Let's see if he can prove to us fans that he is worthy to be in the dugout and that these players deserve to wear the famous red shirt.

Agreed - A month ago I said JM needs to buck his ideas up, for a guy that knew he had the job and time to prepare we have looked devoid of any progressive plan. We have gone backwards since then. We look like just like Chelsea before he was axed.

The attitude of our players was disgraceful during and post game. The manager seems to lack any sort of authority, Man Utd seems to be the living of example of money going to people's heads. Where is the passion, the will to win, the willingness and ability to change bad decisions?

Defensive on the field, defensive in the press office. All around Anti-Man Utd. I was expecting an intelligent man like Jose to learn from LVG's mistakes and at the very least learn from his mistakes at Chelsea, but he seems to have learned nothing. We sign superstars and turn them into nothing, I'm bitterly disappointed and I don't see any positives thus far - gutted yet again.

Thing is its very easy to predict failure because its a lot easier to fail than it is succeed.
Give someone enough time and they will fail at something.

I really think you spouting that you'll give him the benefit etc, why not just let him have a season before you start going at him. Yes he's spent a lot of money, but he's got 4 players that he truly wants and the rest he had no choice.

Just give the guy a chance, if he can't do it then no one can. And also there's no body to replace him. You'll say Pochetino etc but there in jobs happy with there own teams.

I think the young people use the phrase OMG😀😀😀😀.

Beast I would agree with pretty much your entire post. When I watch Jose in the press conferences he looks lethargic and disinterested which if that is the case can easily rub off on players. Folk constantly say "Fergie played his way" but when did you ever see a time give up and happily embrace the opposition after a 4-0 beat down?

FZZ how many folk on here said we should sign 4-5 top players because the squad is good and quality not quantity is what we needed at the beginning of the season? Almost everyone. How many folk on here said that we would challenge for the league this year until the very end? Almost everyone. So why shouldn't we judge Jose on those objectives?

You say give him the season which is fine and I am no advocate of changing managers mid season but that doesn't mean I can't make my mind up if this guy is right for the club or not. If the club folds like Chelsea did last season should we still back him because he needs more quality players?

24 Oct 2016 23:30:26
How about just back the team and manager for at least a. full season? I can understand not being happy with style of play and tactics and every game will present new opportunities for criticism but what's the point of giving a manager 3 more games to 'proove' himself? It sounds like your mind is already made up and after that it's just a self fulfilling prophesy. Are you not going to support the team anymore if results continue to be poor?

24 Oct 2016 23:43:03
I see what your saying regarding people saying about quality over quantity, but I think at the time 5/ 6 signings would be to much.
Hindsight is great though and now I would've said 5/ 6 would've been fine.
We are clearly 2 defenders a midfielder and striker away from competing, these would need to be established players and not prospects.

Plus it's not over yet we are only 9 games in, 6 points off the top. Yes with the way things are going we won't win it, but we really still have a sniff.
There's far too much doom and gloom.

Fergie would chase down 10 point plus leads with 10 games to go never mind 29 games left, the writing off is a tad premature for me.

24 Oct 2016 23:51:02
I always support the team be that under Fergie, Moyes, LVG and now Jose. Does that mean I can't have an opinion on the way the coach is running the club?

So what if god forbid Jose loses the next 3 games and United sit in 16th spot. Will you still believe he is the man to lead our title charge this season?

25 Oct 2016 00:08:52
How many points of the top are we? Let's all have a meltdown.

Sometimes you just have to accept that we have had a bad spell and team are not playing well. I agree we need a big improvement next three league games.

Please keep some perspective.

FZZ – Come on mate we have close 300 million pounds worth of midfield talent and you reckon we are in desperate need of another midfielder.

We have two of the world games most renowned goal scorers, the most expensive teenage prodigy and the biggest prospect in England and you reckon we are desperate for another striker.

We signed a class centre back and have about 4 options to partner him with. Our most consistent performer this season has been our right back and at left back we have a player who according to many is going to be the best English full back ever. Yet you reckon we are desperate for another two defenders?

All I see are excuses mate.

I saw a report in the paper today, that Jose has been very underwhelming around the club since he came in. The complete opposite to what people were expecting. Mourinho-lite was the phrase used.

25 Oct 2016 01:29:00
I would agree with that from the outside looking in and I think that is clear to see Stevie.

25 Oct 2016 01:45:47
The Chelsea sacking must have really damaged him mentally. That confidence seems to have gone from him, he looks like a man going through the motions and the players reflect their manager (just like with Moyes and LVG) . Horrible to say it again, but we got it wrong twice already, wouldn't surprise me if it's three out of three.

Ultimately if we start playing well and lose then the results I can swallow. But playing poorly, losing and not looking too bothered is about as bad as it can get.

For those thinking "give a manager time", of course they should be given time, but none of us are in charge or hiring and firing, we are on here to talk about the club - nobody would sack Jose yet, but the trajectory is not promising.

6 points off the top, but light years off of being the Man Utd I knew and loved. No reason why we shouldn't be looking better than pre-season by now, but we look just as bad as under LVG after spending X amount.

I fear those saying Jose has lost his mojo are being found to be correct. I hope it changes quickly - other than blind hope there is nothing to cling to at the minute and that is frankly disgusting.

Any thread where Maze, JMB, Rollo and Beast all agreed was never going to be glass half full 😂.

25 Oct 2016 08:13:31
Fzz I don't think 6 points is a lot. But the way we're playing, 6 points is a lot. I agree with stevie maze and Beast, mourinho looks subdued it's as if someone has told him to behave and not be himself.
We want mourinho to be himself warts and all. We don't want a diluted version.
I have to say I was one of his biggest fans when he came but I'm really worried we've made a big mistake as he himself doesn't seem motivated and the players do need a good old fashioned kick up the what's it.
I'm with Maze and Beast, the excuses have to stop and we want to see United performing with intensity, skill and hard work.

25 Oct 2016 09:03:36
"We want to see United performain with intensity, skill and hard work"

Is that too much to ask Schmid? Like you I believe that is the bare minimum.

25 Oct 2016 16:12:14
You probably won't see this maze, but yeh i think we do.
RB, and a CB.
1 winger and a ball playing CM like Carrick (he won't be here at end of season)
And a striker to replace the Rooney, and to compete with Zlatan.
