What do the rest of you think the likelihood of us reverting to a 442 is?
I know its only been a couple of games but rashford looks the real deal. strong, good movement and good instincts in the box. I firmly believe a front partnership between him and martial could be devastating.
personally I think we will eventually revert back to the 442 (esp if giggs gets the top job) but while martial is still learning the trade I think we should use a 4123/ 433 formation with blind infront of the defence and behind sneiderlin and Herrera who, as we all saw today, can make an excellent midfield pairing
what ever formation we adopt next term I think its obvious we will require a partner for smalling and a right sided forward/ winger.
we have the likes of lingard, januzaj, Wilson, mcnair and now mensah to challenge for positions.
however i don't think mata, rooney, fellaini, Jones and schweisteinger fit into either team type. schweisteinger could stay for his dressing room value but at 200,000 a week i believe blind, mensah or even Carrick can do that job
fellaini looks like he could be off to Italy, Jones should probably be moved on (I would guess to a club like west ham)

I think Martial, Memphis and Rashford could make a good attacking 3 as they could all swap positions constantly and share the workload of tracking back. Rashford did it today, tracking back and covering for 1 of the 3 behind him as well as just tracking back to help them. All 3 of them with their energy and pace could cause countless problems for any team. Mata in behind pulling the strings, the full backs bombing on and a solid base to the midfield/ defence, the team would be set!
