All interest except that of Bayern Munich, Arsenal and possibly Newcastle will have gone with the signing of a new contract although Manchester United and Liverpool have had a will respected ex PL and high-end independent scout watch the player on their behalf - although both have other targets. Agent has spoken with Manchester City and Chelsea, and either may offer an option. Fulham will still look to replacements as they fear the player could have his head turned by Bayern Munich or Arsenal, who see him as an option to Trindade, who Fulham are also keen on. Bayern Munich have scheduled talks.}

Ed002 - if I may ask a general question.
You have mentioned highly respected ex PL scouts before ed. Is this or are these ex players we would know? How many ex top level players go into independant scouting for clubs? Could you name a couple who have gone on to be successful scouts after playing in the epl era?
It is not a subject that gets a lot of media attention, compared to pundits and managers.

{Ed002's Note - Matthijs de Ligt (CB) Player has been happier with Tuchel as coach and will likely stay where he is even if Alonso takes over as coach in the summer, as long as he gets the playing time he desires. In the unlikely event that ten Hag is still at Manchester United but he would not be top of the list at all. I am not aware of any approach to Bayern Munich by Arsenal and Bayern have no interest in selling although they are persisting in chasing another CB themselves.}
