It’s interesting that Poch is now available, as is De Zerbi - I assume no compensation to be paid?
If we do change manager - would you see these as an upgrade on EtH?
Or would you keep our manager and give him a go in the new structure?

Agree0 Disagree0

21 May 2024 21:43:49
Keep ten hag and let this structure work with him.

21 May 2024 22:23:23
Keep ETH and let another club be the centre of manager speculation for a bit.

It's honestly been so boring having the same thing reported all season.

21 May 2024 22:23:48
Poch is an interesting angle. I like him as a coach very much.

21 May 2024 22:40:32
I can't think of 1 compelling reason to keep eth.

22 May 2024 03:07:52
Because he is better than you make out Tumble.

22 May 2024 03:37:22
May be better than Tumble thinks but perhaps still not up to the task. Surely we will find out either way early next week?

22 May 2024 04:15:08
Keep ten hag, see the process through. Start the squad clean out, no time to waste. I like ten hag. I like that some of these players don't like him, they should feel unsettled, get them out. If training is too hard, they are not fit enough, get them out. We will not get back to the top without cracking a few eggs, get on board, or find another life boat.

22 May 2024 04:52:46
Poch would be a huge step up over Ten Haag.

22 May 2024 06:34:11
Not sure on DeZerbi after this season. Are those saying keep ETH the same who shouted standards were not high enough, when we finished higher under other managers? Is 8th good enough now? The lowest point in decades?

Poch is someone who I believe is better than ETH and actually the key for me is that he fits the new structure better. Are there better managers than Poch, possibly but for where we are Poch looks a good fit.

22 May 2024 07:53:01
Keep ETH.

22 May 2024 08:02:40
Those saying keep ETH understand this season has been like no other in the last 10 years. No other previous manager had to contend with the level of injuries, having one striker and a partial takeover.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and don't need to justify themselves.

Some want him in, some want him out, why can't we leave it at that.

22 May 2024 08:18:45
There is absolutely no evidence of that after 2 years.
I thought he was better than he has proven to be.
He has done a worse job than I thought he ever could jimbob.
I never thought for 1 moment that he would break nearly every bad record that we had in the epl.
I never thought he would lead us to our worst ever cl and epl performance.
So I'm quite sure he has done a lot worse than I ever expected or that I ever thought possible.

22 May 2024 08:50:12
Just think, in half a week we'll know either way and we can stop recycling the same nonsense lol.

22 May 2024 09:08:36
Is it as simple as win the cup and stay, lose against city and he's out do you think?

22 May 2024 09:10:39
Kurtis don’t be so naive.

Van gaal had a similar if not worse crisis and he was hounded out of the club. Go look at some of his line ups, I remember Sunderland away. Donald love at right back and countless others filling in.

Consistently excuses are made for ten hag. When the majority of his failings have been based on the structure of the team. The tactics employed leaving the midfield wide open. It’s been an absolute joke to watch and we’ve been a laughing stock. 36 games it took to make a tactical change.

22 May 2024 09:40:30
I don't know that it's a case of win and stay, lose and sack. Maybe it is that simple but it's unfair for any side to be expected to beat probably the best if not one of the top 3 club sides in the world to keep your job. I'd like to think SJR and co will be looking partly at the game as a whole but also the much broader picture. I'm not pretending I enjoy watching us, there are glimpses but on the whole I don't think Utd have been great to watch since Fergie's penultimate year, even in his last year it was bad. I want to see what he can do without the injuries and a few astute additions to the starting XI. Admittedly injuries could surface next season but you'd have to be extraordinarily unlucky to be hit again like this season.
I only hope we're not losing after about 20 seconds like last year when all the hype and hope was smothered before I'd even plonked myself down on the sofa!

Caolan, it's an interesting point re: van Gaal suffering a parallel injury crisis. I did a bit of rooting around and found a page from sat 30th Jan, 2016. A nice blast from the past and not surprising to see Luke Shaw on that list too. 'Only' 8 injuries though, and that was classed as a crisis.

"Louis van Gaal has pointed the finger at Manchester United's mounting injury list as the cause for their struggles this season.

The under-pressure Dutchman has seen his team fall 10 points behind Premier League leaders Leicester City and out of the top four after recording only two wins in their last 10 league games.

United have suffered an injury crisis during that period with eight first-team players - Luke Shaw, Matteo Darmian, Ashley Young, Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones, Michael Carrick, Antonio Valencia and Bastian Schweinsteiger all missing games.

Van Gaal's relationship with frustrated United fans has grown increasingly strained in recent weeks.

He was booed off the pitch at Old Trafford after last week's loss to Southampton but he insists the team's injury woe is making his job difficult. "

22 May 2024 13:17:44
15/ 16 season we lost 1485 days through injury this year we lost 1501
Little or no diff caolan.

22 May 2024 14:58:09
Thank you Ken, I was struggling to find a good comparison of LVG vs ETH.

22 May 2024 17:51:17
Constant excuses atm Ken.

The last two games I can understand the argument for injuries as in the set up personel could improve. Not the previous games this season pre arsenal. We could sign anyone in the world and that tactical system wouldn’t work.

22 May 2024 20:39:50
You're all welcome to your opinions. You will if course be right or wrong, as will I, or anyone else who dares to type.
All I will say is that Poch, De Zerbi, Southgate, Tuchel etc etc etc, in my opinion are no step up from what we have.

I can provide no guarantees, however, I can see that change is afoot, wholesale change. With that change will come an uptick in our entire club. It will take time, SJR has advised, the fans will need to be patient.

Can we be patient as a group, of course not. There will be emotions running high, day after day. Some people have set out their stalls, in or out, and we will stick by them. I have my reasons for EtH staying, others have reasons for a change. No one is wrong.

22 May 2024 21:48:15
Keep ten hag? He’s stubborn as hell and won’t change when changes clearly need to be frigging made. He’s wasted a full season with the same stubborn game plan getting outplayed every week and you’re saying keep him? Is this a joke or what?

22 May 2024 23:05:38
I was firmly in the keep Ten Hag for one more season and give him a chance, but the performances over the last fee months have been so bad that you have to wonder if he has lost the dressing room.
