United being linked with Rabiot again. I’m
Not sure he’s an upgrade but expect Casimero and Eriksen both to leave
If they do go then we’d need two to come in -
Who would you want or who else are we strongly linked to?

On last year's performances Rabiot would be an upgrade on any of Casimero, Ericson, McTominay and Amrabat.
Don't look at careers just what they are offering at the minute and Rabiot was very good for Juventus.
Do I want him, not particularly but can see the logic as second midfield addition.
On the whole I like the clubs moves so I am not going to be bothered with this one if it happens and trust the logic.

I don't think Rabiot would be a bad signing at all. Technically excellent, physically imposing, and a hard worker both on and off the ball. While he would bring great experience.

On a 2 year deal with a 3rd year option he'd be a great player to have in the squad.

Obviously though he isn't a perfect fit tactically in my opinion, he seems much better suited to playing as one of a midfield three than in a double pivot, and at his age he isn't a long term solution.

Ideally if it was down to me I'd want to see us sign two midfielders. One being an aggressive, defensively sound ball winning midfielder, the other someone who can offer some athletisim and technically quality able to play as a holding No.6 or as a more dynamic No.8.

Manuel Ugarte seems to fit the first profile pretty well, as would Morten Frendrup. While players like Youssef Fofana, André or João Gomes would be good as that well rounded No.6/ No.8 hybrid.

Two players like that along with Mainoo, Bruno and Mount would give us some really good balance and tactical flexibility, hopefully without breaking the bank.

Although with a tight budget we might have to look at someone like Rabiot as that second midfielder if we are to get one.

Rabiot is definitely an upgrade on current Cas, Eriksen and McTominay.

Being a free agent he’s likely asking for silly money and it will be interesting to find out what his mother can get for him. I’d certainly take him should we manage to get him for a reasonable salary and signing on fee.

I would be surprised if we ended up with Rabiot more than most of the names we've been linked with. The debate about is he/ isn't he the kind of player this new Utd wants is a bit mute as there is obviously concrete interest and has been pre-INEOS. But he seems a real big-time player, one able to get into much stronger teams with an expectation to win the top honours and I fear our project might not pique his interest. He'll also command a whopping signing on fee. it's not my money either way but I'd prefer to see that put towards a younger, hungrier player. But he'd take our midfield up a notch, that's for sure.

I would go in with a wage offer, if he takes it then great, if not walk away. I wouldn’t pay him stupid money to sign for a couple of years. If he is all about the money, which it seemed like he/ his mum was previously then he can go elsewhere and get it. Saudi maybe.

Brendan ???.

Don't get the Rabiot love in. He seems to move clubs every other year which doesn't impress me. He is obviously a good player but I don't see him as helping us back to the very top. Would much rather we signed a younger hungrier player.

Really Salford I don't think he moves around very much at all. Psg and juve since 2012 Inc 1 year on loan as a youth to toulouse.
Really good player and if cas goes one with great experience. I like his playing style. Very effective imo and any 2 from ugarte mainoo and rabiot with collyer as back up to play with either mount or Bruno.
Get shut of amrabat mctom ericksen hannibal. Might get 40m to 50m for 3 of those. With cas either going on loan or sold also.

Ken, agree on Rabiot. He’s played for 3 clubs in 14 years, hardly a journeyman. That’s loyal these days.
