Just wondering what would everyone consider to be a good summer?

Obviously I think most of us got carried away when the takeover was announced, and we all hoped to see sweeping changes.

Since then SJR has repeatedly said it's a long term project and has tried to temper expectations.

While we all know that we need a couple of CB's, a couple of midfielders, a ST, a winger, and at least one fullback. I think it's clear that we won't be getting 7-8 signings this summer and will have to go into next season with a few holes in the squad.

I think we'll get four maybe five signings this summer at most. While I still expect to see at least double that number of players leave if not triple.

Two weeks of snow would really make it memorable.

A cb that can come straight into the starting 11 alongside Martinez.
We look like we have the back up striker that’s needed.
Urgate or a similar player that can break up attacks, sit in alongside the defence, and allow Manioo to develop into the player he looks to be.
A second cb would be a bonus.

Crucially, getting rid of players from our oversized squad. I think that has been one of the major issues. Too many players creates a lot of dissatisfaction, and that affects everyone.

A good summer would be clearing the decks. Any players were able to sign on top of that would be a bonus.

Clear out the dressing room. Especially the troublemakers. Remove the top earners and reset the pay structure (Sancho, Varane, Casemiro and Rashford) . Sell Maguire, Eriksen, Lindlof, Wan Bissaca, Mctominay, Greenwood and Antony.

If Saudi offer over £120m in cash sell Bruno

Buy players who put a shift in, strong characters, winning mentality.

De Light, Ugarte and Zirkzee would do me for now. Clearing the decks probably more important at the minute. Get Willy, Amass, Gore and Collyer to plug gaps.
Obviously depends on who goes, but that would be a good start. Anything else would be a bonus.

A good summer is 4 in maybe 5 out. Not in the camp of going crazy and selling half the squad. If we sell to the tune as some are asking for we will struggle to sniff top 6. Very long season and a lot of the guys who get hate are good pros that will play their part.

Need a left back as shaw is nor durable enough for a whole season and malacia is not even training. No idea what is going on with him. almost 14 months out now I think. Our new Phil jones by the looks of it.

Dr Ligt, Ugarte and Zirkzee would be decent, along with clearing out the likes of Sancho, Greenwood, DVB etc.

Not sure why some people are so keen to see McTominey leave. Sure if we get a good offer and have already got reinforcements in, but he's a good squad player, home grown etc. He'd be well down the list of exits for me.

If Cas leaves, hopefully a second cdm coming in, and maybe a second cb. Possibly one of lb, rb, or rw would be nice, but honestly those would be luxuries.

Ahmad, I think we'll definitely see a few more than 5 leave.

Currently Varane, Martial, Forson have left on free deals. With Evans, Heaton and Shoretire also out on contract, although the club is trying to negotiate deals with them.

However, if they don't sign new deals then that's 6 gone straight off the bat.

While Amrabat's loan has also ended, so there's another.

We've also agreed deals for Alvaro Fernandez and Donny to leave.

So we have already definitely seen 5 go, with another 3 out of contract.

Currently we are at potentially 8 gone. That's before we consider other sales, players like Greenwood and Sancho will certainly leave.

While players like Bayindir (apparently wants to leave to play regular football), AWB, Lindelof, Maguire, Williams, Hannibal, Casemiro, Eriksen, McTominay, Pellistri and Antony are all players the club are open to offers for.

So that's potentially another 13 players the club are either actively trying to sell or open to offers for.

I'd say Greenwood, Sancho, Pellistri, Hannibal, Eriksen, Williams, and Lindelof will all leave. With Casemiro and AWB dependant on big enough offers coming in.

Along with Varane, Martial, Forson, Donny and Alvaro Fernandez already gone.

While I expect Heaton and Evans to sign new deals, but I doubt Shoretire will.

I make that 13 without Casemiro and AWB, 5 of which are already agreed and gone.

I think we can all safely say it'll be twice as many leaving as joining, maybe even three times as many.
