Now it's women's captain Katie zelem leaving! We really don't have a plan for the women's team at all by the looks of things.

Agree2 Disagree0

Yeah we do have a plan, stick them in the portacabin by all accounts.

Seen a report the PFA are seeking to have a conversation with United about it.

It's a sad state of affairs, and it shouldn't be happening at a club our size.

Yet the reality is the club is a massive mess and we have new owners who are just starting to o sort through the crap and try and get things in order.

To do so they will have to prioritise things in order of importance/ impact they have on the club as a whole. Rightly or wrongly the women's team has very little impact on the club as a whole, far far less than the men's team, they even have less impact than the academy.

Which means solving the issues with the women's team will be below addressing the club structure, the needs of the men's team, and the needs of the academy.

It's not right or fair, but that's business. If the club wants to be back challenging at the highest level again they need to fix other things around the club before addressing the problems with the women's team.

It may also be counter productive as the women's team generates a decent amount of interest and exposure and potentially there is a 50% chance every new club supporter is a woman.

Priority to the first team is right provided it is done in a sensible manner and explained to the Women's team and they are not made to feel they have no value.

The central issue is that the women’s team was set up because the club were embarrassed with not having one. It’s a huge credit to everyone involved with the women’s setup that they have achieved what they have with minimal investment. But it’s also completely understandable that the best players see the club as a stepping stone toward a top class team.

The new investors have their priorities and there’s so much to fix that you can understand what they’re focusing on. However, whatever way it’s spun, it’s massively disrespectful to the women’s, and is very crappy position to put them in.

The women's team have kinda outperformed the men's in a way.
Since going up to the WSL the league positions have been consistent, it would be nice to see them push forward and challenge the top teams.
