My interpretation of the interview Tim is that Mr Rashford is taking no responsibility for his behaviour and performances, which is what an elite level performer should do. Rather he’s playing the victim, which seems to be the way forward in this day and age.

Question must be What has happened to him? His performances have always been hit and miss but this new attitude is not good. Yet another footballer surrounded by yes men and poor advisors. Rashford should look at pogbas career and how its nosedived, he’s going the same way (at least pogba won a wc) if he doesn’t buck up.

He wasn’t on life changing money when he joined the club as a child though, that’s what he meant, his family took risks and made sacrifices in the hope he would become a footballer so he doesn’t want to throw that away is basically what he’s saying.

Did you guys even read the article to get the context of that quote or are you just off excerpts on social media. He says he was 11 when he got offered a lot of money to leave, which he turned down because he wanted to play for Utd. He was a kid coming from a struggling background and obviously taking the money would have been the easy route out. I agree that his attitude stinks and he needs to shape up or ship out, but don't be making up stuff just to have a go at him.

I don't have an issue with what he has come out and said, it's more about the timing and the lack of effort it looks like he puts in to games at the moment which is contradictory to what he said. As stated in an above post, I think the timing is ridiculous from him unless we see a massive change in work rate and effort, otherwise its just words in an attempt to appease fans and pundits. Massive pressure on him now going into the City game.

why so much hate and dislike for a home grown guy who has cost us nothing. He is having a poor season by his standards and fan expectation but so is the whole team. He comes from a very poor background and his talent has got him where he is. His wage and contract is the clubs decision and not my money or yours.
I think he is a great talent and would be such a shame if people force him to move on. He will light it up elsewhere. This team does not create enough imo and its okay to be frustrated as a player. I am not in the camp he does not try, go to a game and count how many runs he does but the ball never comes and even when it comes its a pretty poor one.

Ahmad, there’s being positive and there’s being blinkered. Rashford has had an easy time because he is a local home grown United supporter, but there is only so long you can ride that train. He could go the whole season not scoring if he went out and ran through brick walls week in week out. But he hasn’t. He’s turned up late or not at all to training more than once and once is far to many times as a professional footballer. He needs a Roy Keane sized rocket up his backside.

What absolute rubbish.
Like a lot of people, I also come from a very poor background, but nobody will ordinarily escape poverty without effort.
Yes, his talent has removed himself and his family from the threat of poverty and that can only ever be a great thing - I'm genuinely happy that he won't suffer the real misery his mother suffered.
Unfortunately, for those in attendance at United games, most keep themselves away from the fingers of poverty with at least as much graft as talent.
The point is mate, for this fraud to run his mouth about commitment, he needs to first remove his head from his squeaky clean and consider the commitment of a regular fan who has grafted away for 40hrs+ a week in a job that certainly isn't a dream vocation to, once the bills have eaten most of their earnings, commit to their passion of following their team.
I've been to enough games and seen Rashford live to know that, irrespective of his runs, he does not graft.
As for those runs, when he does get the ball, he is frequently on his own because of his mooching and should at least try to hold the ball up, but no, he'll sink into Boss mode and try to jink his way past 2, 3, 4 players long before he'd even think to lift his head to find a pass. That's all he ever wants to do and, considering the fact he fails with this play 95% of the time, it's just not good enough.
So this running garbage is just that - garbage. He will occasionally track back, but he certainly won't sprint to do so.
I'll be fair, he puts in a bit more graft than Martial, but that's no glowing endorsement.
Like Bruno, he is not a team player and I would be very happy to see both leave by the end of summer'25.

Ahmad, I have to respectfully disagree. Last year was the outlier not the norm. It was only 2/ 3 years back there was conversations about selling him so poor was his form/ application. He had a purple patch of 4 months, there was nothing before or after that spell to suggest he’s as good as we’d like him to be or some think he is.
