Not heard much of a mention of Ryan Gravenberch. I seem to remember Ed02 intimated that he would be keen on a move to Utd and I imagine he would cost less than Amrabat. Seeing as we are likely losing Fred, McT and Donny, I would love to see Gravenberch come in since he can cover practcally any midfield position. Add to that he's still quite young, already knows the manager's system and most of all, is actually keen on a move.

Unruly

{Ed002's Note - Ryan Gravenberch (CM/DM/AM) Versatile midfield player who only joined Bayern Munich last summer and wasn't to be for sale, unless the Head Coach decides he can join the lengthy list of players now available as he looks towards a rebuild and with Brazzo Salihamidzic being sacked that has become more likely. I am not aware of any approach by Liverpool to Bayern Munich at this time, but that may change, and Team Mino are certainly not offering him around, but they have had enquiries from a number of clubs, including Manchester City. The player is making demands about being a starter and game time and Bayern Munich have told Team Mino he can be sold. Newcastle may offer up an acceptable bid, they are certainly interested. There is interest from Italy but that may not suit the player. The player has made it clear he would like his next move to be to Manchester United and they may provide an option if available. Liverpool will likely offer another option and will have spoken with his Agents. A wildcard maybe Juventus.}

1.) 11 Aug 2023 14:25:39
Thanks for the info Ed02. Are United considering him as an option?

{Ed002's Note - It will depend on departures.}

2.) 11 Aug 2023 14:31:19
If the transfer sum isn't outrageous he's got to be a good shout to give an actual chance. Ed I know you don't like talking money but would a reasonable amount be able to acquire him or would Bayern be looking for a very high sum to sell him?

{Ed077's Note - €30m might be the ball park figure.}

3.) 11 Aug 2023 14:39:28
An absolute steal at that price.
Plays multiple positions, still young and has a very good relationship with ten hag. Will hopefully get the best out of him.

Only issue is would he come if he wasn’t a guaranteed starter?

Mount, Bruno and Casemiro will be our starting 3 so will need to to work to get them out the team.

4.) 11 Aug 2023 14:51:18
30M Euros in this day and age where midfielders are going for 105/ 110M of the queens finest seems like a real steal. Would be lovely to get both him and Amrabat but obviously the paths of Mejbri and Mainoo gets blocked which isn't nice. Thanks for the info Eds.

5.) 11 Aug 2023 15:19:00
Would much rather him than Amrabat. Granted, Amrabat is a better Cas deputy right now, but Gravenberch has a much higher ceiling. If both are priced around the €30m mark, it seems like an easy choice to me. Obviously, Ten Haag may see things differently though, especially having worked with Gravenberch at Ajax.

6.) 11 Aug 2023 23:54:19
Imagine both Arambat and Gravenberch! Wow. It’s probably doable if Mctominay leaves….
I think we need Arambat more though. We really struggled without Casemiro last season.

7.) 12 Aug 2023 10:42:44
Pavard and Gravenberch in.

Maguire, Fred, McTominay out.

Could be a big overhaul in players hopefully they gel quickly.

8.) 12 Aug 2023 13:03:57
Gravenberch is the profile of player i would like to see us target, ypung and takented, suits Ten Hag system, struggled in Germany last year but he is very young at a very comoetitive club in a new country, wouldn't read mucb into it.

Arambaat i am undecided on really, don't know much about him outside of WC and highlights if a couple of Fiorentina games.

9.) 12 Aug 2023 16:36:41
I haven't really seen him play much this year, so I may be misremembering. From what I remember though I got the impression he was more suited to be part of a double pivot with a partner who sat deeper giving him more freedom to roam and win the ball, rather than being the main defensive midfielder. Like Fred but better with the ball.

IMO we need a midfielder who can partner Casemiro when a little extra defensively, and can anchor the midfield himself with Mount as a number 8.

10.) 12 Aug 2023 17:19:30
Watch quite a bit of Ajax, under Ten Ha he played on the left side of a midfield two in front of Alvarez and alongside Berghuis. Berghuis generally the more advanced (Brhno role) and Gravenberch in what i assume is the Mount role. When the wide men drift inside he would also protect the left.

His place in the squad woukd be to cover for Mount, with Mount being the primary cover for Bruno. In truth i don't think Erikksen has the legs anymore for these roles. don't see him being much more than a sub this year and cup matches. He also is a sensibke head when needed and appears to be a good influence on the squad plus is well versed in the system.

Not saying he is a priority just he fits the profile of the type of players we should be going for.

Personally i think we are at least 2 yeara away and he can grow into the team.

11.) 13 Aug 2023 12:00:13
I really like Gravenberch, but I'm not sure he is what we need right now.

Definitely more of a No.8 than either a 6 or 10 (although he can play those roles to varying degrees) . Personally I'd say he's a more effective carrier of the ball than a passer. That's not to say he isn't an accomplished passer, just that for me his best work in progressing the ball comes from when he drops the shoulder and drives forward through a line of pressure with the ball and takes 2-3 of the opposition players out of the play. He isn't the guy to pick out a killer through ball that unlocks the opposition very often.

From that perspective I feel he is far more suited to playing as a box to box 8 given the freedom to bomb forward with the ball at his feet. As a holding player (No.6) he won't have the same freedom to drive forward with the ball, and would have to rely more heavily on his passing to effect play in possession. While defensively/ off the ball he's okay but not outstanding. Capable of making tackles etc but clearly defensive work isn't his passion.

I think we need someone who's far more comfortable playing as a No.6/ holding midfielder someone whose first instinct is to win the ball and shield the defence. Whose skillset is based on reading the game and controlling the space in front of the defence. If they can also be an expensive passer of the ball, someone who can pick out a 50 or 60 yard forward pass to open the opposition up and turn defence into attack then great.

That's not Gravenberch though.

12.) 13 Aug 2023 16:30:17
I like thuram if we can afford him, if not Ambrabat. Thuram has a super high ceiling. Watched him year live before last and thought here is a proper player and obviously getting better last year.

Ed002, if you have the time, do Man Utd hold any interest in Gift Orban of Gent?

Unruly

{Ed002's Note - Gift Orban (S) Although he has only just signed, his value is doing wonders for the club who may reluctantly cash in during the summer. Agent has spoken with Hertha Berlin and Leicester. Lille and Inter have a declared interest and plenty of scouts have been attending games.

1.) 17 May 2023 13:30:05
Thanks for your time and insight Ed. He looks quite the talent.

29 Dec 2022 08:07:16
Ed 002,

You mentioned that Utd may approach Jonathan David. Is Depay also an alternative target? Seeing as he's out of contract in the summer and isn't first choice at Barca.

Unruly

{Ed002's Note - He was one of the options I listed.}

1.) 29 Dec 2022 10:42:41
Ed - are the club able to make signings in Jan or are the they only looking at loan deals?

{Ed002's Note - It depends on what they wish to do.}

2.) 29 Dec 2022 15:59:24
This is starting to whiff of Morata for 6 months.

3.) 29 Dec 2022 16:23:19
Would love a striker of Morata's mould for 6 months. Even Depay will be useful if he can come. Felix and Jonathan David I'm guessing are not going to happen.

4.) 29 Dec 2022 18:02:56
When you say ‘wish to do’ Ed, with the club up for sale, what options do you see them as having?

5.) 29 Dec 2022 13:20:00
Ed, is there anyone else you've heard recently that we may be looking at? Seems we don't have many options.

{Ed002's Note - I have said before there are a few options, but most clubs will not want disruption in the Winter.}

6.) 29 Dec 2022 20:07:07
Unruly I agree with you there on Morata. Not so much on depay.
I. Not all that fussed to get honest. I don't see a big fee being paid and unless it's a top choice then it would be daft Imo.
A loan deal for a good experienced cf could pay off. A guy like morata is used to coming off bench for big clubs and starting when required and has the knack of scoring goals.
Never prolific but weighs in with his quota regularly.
I'm sure we'll get a body but who that will be and will they make a difference is anybody 's guess.
If be happy to go with what we have and hope we get lucky with injuries.
Mad schedule ahead and if we stay in the cups we will be stretched no doubt and possibly knackered for the last 10 games when the prizes are being given out.

7.) 29 Dec 2022 20:14:24
Morata? Really? Oh dear we are in the poop.

8.) 29 Dec 2022 20:14:24
Morata? Really? Oh dear we are in the poop.

9.) 29 Dec 2022 20:56:51
I would rather Morata for a 6 mo than loan than splashing tens of millions on a makeweight permanently.

Either we get a guy that Ten Hag wants and believes is or will become the Striker he needs or we don't bother with a permanent signing, get the best loanee who will do a job in this system and look again in summer.

10.) 29 Dec 2022 21:43:07
Has to be a loan. As Ken suggests, we will run out of steam towards the end when the really crucial fixtures come up. Not to mention our only recognized striker used to be a winger, is injured half the time and isn't even good enough when he actually plays. We are absolutely desperate for a striker. We will not make top 4 without one coming in.

11.) 30 Dec 2022 07:56:39
Morata is an interesting one. Had all the technical and physical attributes to be a worldie, but he never quite seems to settle anywhere since he left Real. Seems to me that’s a mental limitation that has stopped him being an elite player. He’s not set the world alight in Madrid (at both clubs), Chelsea or Juventus.

Might be worth exploring for a loan only as a last resort, but I don't see why he’d leave his home town unless Atletico have some serious cash flow problems and need to free up some wages. Not a signing that I feel fits into what ETH is trying to do even in the short term.

06 Dec 2022 07:53:21
Ed002,

Do United still hold any interest in Gvardiol?

Unruly

{Ed002's Note - No.}

1.) 06 Dec 2022 09:08:00
Makes sense. Licha plays the same position. Thanks for the info Ed002.

29 May 2022 16:04:17
Ed002

Has Ralf Rangnick left by choice or was he forced to leave by higher ups and/ or circumstances?

Unruly

{Ed002's Note - It was never be a viable position moving forward and it would have made it even more difficult for the DoF.}

1.) 29 May 2022 17:32:34
Well i guess it is for the better. Thanks for the reply Ed002.

2.) 29 May 2022 17:32:34

3.) 29 May 2022 17:32:34
Well i guess it is for the better. Thanks for the reply Ed002.

4.) 29 May 2022 19:47:58
Ten Hag's words wouldn't have given him much encouragement. Maybe the clean break is best.

5.) 29 May 2022 20:37:18
I'm sure they were talking throughout despite their suggestions they had never met, so this news a week into ten Hag's appointment is bizarre. Maybe Ralph's opinion that we needed 10 players put the frighteners up everyone if Erik is happy to go for a couple and consolidate with youth and returning players.

6.) 29 May 2022 23:31:15
You can say that again unruly.

Any update on the injuries front? Hope we'll have AWB, Maguire and Licha back soon. And Mount so that Bruno can get some rest.

Unruly

1.) 11 Mar 2024 15:16:53
AWB, Maguire and Hojlund - Confirmed to be back in training, should be fit for the Liverpool game.

Licha - Not likely back until April / May

Mount - Confirmed as after the international break.

2.) 11 Mar 2024 16:54:18
Postecoglou has a squad made up from signings made by Pochetino, Nuno, Mourinho and Conte. He’s got them playing some lovely stuff.
He might not have had the injuries we’ve had but we can’t keep blaming injury for piss poor performances. The 11 players on the pitch are not performing. They look like strangers the majority of matches. Ultimately, the manager will have to pay the price if performances don’t improve.

3.) 11 Mar 2024 17:21:10
This is a reply to the thread above.

4.) 11 Mar 2024 23:53:38
Eth is inflexible.

5.) 12 Mar 2024 19:37:37
Tom he got a gk left back centre back two midfielders a winger and probably a few more . Played good stuff when all available. Remind me what happened when they lost left back to suspension, midfielder and centre back to injury for a sustained period? That’s right they couldn’t buy a win! Interesting….

22 Feb 2024 07:33:26
Been thinking about this new Luke Shaw injury and obviously now we won't see him until next season. Tyrel Malacia's case has been very strange to be honest, not much information anywhere about what is going on with him. Harry Amass is still a kid, probably a year or two away from the first team.

Lindelof is horrible at left back and Amrabat really struggled playing that position.

But there is one player in the squad that we always slate for being useless offensively but very diligent in defence. This player is also known for having a useless right foot and a wand of a left foot. If he really wants to get back in the team, Antony had better start training for that left back as it is the only position that is up for grabs at the moment.

Unruly

1.) 22 Feb 2024 08:12:35
Unruly,

I said to my mates yesterday I’d be tempted to try Antony there, he has the qualities of a decent left back and I don’t think he will make it here as a winger.

2.) 22 Feb 2024 08:22:53
Ron Weasly’s wand!

3.) 22 Feb 2024 09:07:58
Not for me gds2. I don't think that's an ootion he will be exploring.
Can't see him tucking in and defending the back post too well.
He tracks back well as a rw but imo has shown not 1 quality that would make him a decent lb.

4.) 22 Feb 2024 10:33:31
Ken, for all his shortcomings, effort is not something he can ever be accused of lacking. The best fullbacks the world over are of similar build to Antony so I don't think physicality is an issue. Perhaps maybe the ability to be in the right places defensively may be a problem.

5.) 22 Feb 2024 10:38:13
No show boating or trick stuff when you play that position. not sure he has the mentality for it but maybe worth a try. Keep it solid and simple.

6.) 22 Feb 2024 11:10:08
Ken,

I am struggling to see another player in the squad with the qualities to play left back either though, that's the problem, Antony is crap but if he could adapt his game he could potentially be a left back, he's certainly not a right winger at the top level. I agree though, I don't think it will be something we try, but Lindelof surely isn't the answer.

7.) 22 Feb 2024 11:32:42
Agree lindelof is not the answer. I can see amrabat filling in (not the ideal answer either) or dalot.
Gds Anthony is tiny never seen him head a ball ever, so I don't think he has the attributes if you can name 3 or 4 full backs as small as him in the epl I'd be surprised.
Dalot is an option I suppose but that opens the right side I'm not sure how far away awb is.
It's a conundrum but Anthony would be in the last 3 or 4 players I'd be suggesting from the whole squad to play there. But let's see if the experts think differently.
Malacia will be fit available. I'd be happy with him in there.

8.) 22 Feb 2024 13:23:53
It was Dalot earlier in the season and still seems the best option beyond Shaw to me, even over Malacia. But this was before AWB got injured. Think Lindelof does less damage there!

9.) 22 Feb 2024 14:21:15
Until either awb or malacia are back we face having to play someone out of position.
Amrabat or lindelof would be the obvious options.
As per above we may see something mad with someone else but eth did not strike me as someone to take such a big risk.

10.) 22 Feb 2024 14:56:33
Its not going to help this season but Leif Davis at Ipswich is having a storming season. He's got 12 assists already this season also got 14 last season.

11.) 22 Feb 2024 15:06:57
Ken,

Rico Henry, Tariq Lamptey, Aaron Cresswell, Sergio Gomez off the top of my head.

Without checking I would also assume he is taller than Malacia who would be our only actual left back if he gets fit and who you are saying should play there. Hopefully AWB is fit soon and he can play there, keep Dalot where he is, he is playing well and getting a good partnership with Garnacho.

12.) 22 Feb 2024 15:28:49
But they can all jump and head a ball, Antony ever done either? and to be honest can you even see him being prepared to be a full back, I can’t see it actually, he thinks he is the next best thing and probably below him to be a full back.
Surely the younger teams full backs must be better option than Antony. If we are so poor in that department we have to resort to Antony there those youngsters might as well give up now and join Tesco’s.

13.) 22 Feb 2024 15:20:37
That's the biggest issue with moving dalot gds2 I agree he has been doing well with garnacho on the right.
I'll leave it to the people who know a lot better than you or I do decide if Antony is worth a try there. I suspect I'll be aligned with the folk that know best on this one but I'll give him full support if the football people think it's the right move. I'd be very surprised but it would not be the 1st time I was wrong.

14.) 22 Feb 2024 19:22:08
Fernandez needs recalling from Benfica. Unless there's something in place that stops us from doing that.

15.) 22 Feb 2024 20:04:10
We can't recall Fernandez. On the plus side Harry Amass has been training with the first team.

16.) 22 Feb 2024 20:44:29
That's a shame. Does anyone keep an eye of the Portuguese league? How has he been getting on?

17.) 22 Feb 2024 20:57:05
I’d be extremely surprised as well Ken I just struggle to see too many better options without playing a 16 year old. I think he may go with Lindelof or Amrabat until Malacia is fit.

18.) 22 Feb 2024 21:25:51
Since when is Fernández in Portugal?

19.) 22 Feb 2024 21:55:52
Ken, he was recalled from his loan at Granada in January and joined Benfica on loan. Reportedly their is a buy option in the deal, which if true would suggest the club don't feel he has a future with us, at least not in the near future as there are also rumours of a buy-back or sell-on clause.

20.) 22 Feb 2024 22:26:09
I can't work out if this started as a joke and has just grown legs! For all the logic there is a difference to defending the attacking midfield part of the pitch against the defensive midfield part. I would happily be proved wrong if they did it but just don't see it.

We should be looking at promoting from the youth team. give them a chance. I look at what the scousers are doing bringing through young players with the injuries they have as well and think we should be brave enough to try this.

A lot could be determined by whether EtH feels like his future is on the line over the last part of the year so play cautious with Lindelof/ Amrabat or if he wants to show faith in youth and have that as the reason the hierachy want to keep him.

21.) 23 Feb 2024 04:30:41
If you are going to play a LB like Antony who can’t head the ball and is not the best with physicality, much rather play the academy kid.
Because he too won’t be developed.

22.) 23 Feb 2024 07:14:56
Brad, my original post was actually tongue in cheek which I guess had the desired effect. But there is plenty of precedent of wingers switching to full back with reasonable success.

23.) 23 Feb 2024 09:41:27
You'd be better sticking McTominay in at LB then Antony IMO. big, strong, quick. Ambrabat though would be obvious and most sensible choice I think having done the job already.

14 Jan 2024 10:13:37
Hopefully we are able to take advantage of Spurs missing quite a number of their first team players today. But you can never know with this team.

Unruly

29 Nov 2023 08:51:47
In Rashford's absence, I'd like to see Hojlund start on the right with Garnacho on the left and Martial through the middle. Or Pellistri on the right and Hojlund through the middle given his form in the UCL. The player I do not want in the 11 is Antony whose form is in the bin currently. I'll even take Bruno on the right with a midfield of Mainoo, McT and Amrabat.

Unruly

1.) 29 Nov 2023 09:15:48
I don't think Hoiland will start or might not even play depending on what happens during the game. I think its Antony or Pellistri on the right. If Bruno starts on the right we may see Hanibal in midfield 3 with Mainoo and MC. Have to keep it tight and hopefully score first and take the crowd out of it. I think awb starts.

I watched them against Bayern at home and if not for their finishing they could have had 3 or 4 goals and were all over them before Bayern did anything. First 70 minutes was all Gala and expect them to come full throttle against us tonight.

2.) 29 Nov 2023 09:33:10
Based on EtH's comments about missing a right winger (and I think he means one that cuts in as he seems to like) we will see Antony playing tonight unless he is still carrying his injury.
Hopefully Hojlund is fit to start, if not on the bench with Martial given another game.

3.) 29 Nov 2023 10:11:26
I do not want to see Hojlund anywhere near the right. He is a number 9 and needs to be central and our focal point. Martial would be better out wide then Hojlund but I hope he goes Pellistri.

4.) 29 Nov 2023 12:54:50
Why would you even consider playing Hoijland on the right, our biggest goal threat.
We have plenty of players that can fill in on the right.
Antony, Pellistri, even Rashford can play over on the right.

5.) 29 Nov 2023 13:22:10
It has to be Garnacho and Pellistri on the flanks with Martial or Hojlund in the middle for me. If not the other (tried and tested) option is moving Fernades out wide with Eriksen coming in, love Eriksen but his energy is less and less each time I see him. Perfect sub though.

6.) 29 Nov 2023 16:36:02
I think the OP was more just a way to slag off Antony than any real tactical thinking.

03 Nov 2023 07:23:47
Match going fans are the reason the Glazers will not sell even when offered double what the club is worth. They know Old Trafford will still be sold out no matter how terribly they run the club.

Unruly

1.) 03 Nov 2023 09:33:39
Unruly, I saw a break down of 2009 and 2019 of United's business model, it showed that in 2009 the revenue came from 41% match day, 35% broadcasting and 24% commercial. In 2019 it was 18% matchday, 38% broadcasting and 44% commercial.

Now my uneducated guess would be it is an even higher commercial percentage now. United is a commercial cash cow for the Glazers. I don't know what the answer is for this, emptying the stadium, relegation or just continue as a fan base to support the team (as difficult as they are making it) but protest and campaign against all sponsors etc because I see comments below about relegation but do we really want this as fans even if it meant Glazers going? Surely there are better ways to get them out?

2.) 03 Nov 2023 09:35:37
Matchday Revenues amount to less than 20% of total. So, other than the psychological effect of empty seats, it's gong to take declines in sponsorship and broadcasting revenues to have a substantial effect on the Glazer's attitude.

3.) 03 Nov 2023 09:44:26
Unruly,

You’re asking people to give up their hobby, for some it might be the only thing they get to do all week that isn’t work or that helps their mental health, in order for what to happen? It’s absolutely disgraceful of you to sit there on your high horse and blame ‘match going fans’ for the mess we are in, people that love the club.

If one person decides not to go to the game it won’t make any difference as 74,000+ will still be there, so that one person will be sat at home miserable and the Glazers will still own the club, but at least they will feel happy that unruly thinks they have done their bit.

4.) 03 Nov 2023 09:49:43
Spot on GDS2.how arrogant to blame match going fans.

5.) 03 Nov 2023 11:02:26
Newcastle still packed out their stadium during the darkest days of the Ashley regime and still managed to get their “Saudi Stimulus” so i don't really see the connection.

6.) 03 Nov 2023 11:45:24
DSG. Ashley sold Newcastle for around £350m allowing plenty room for further investment. The Glazers are asking almost 10X that. Hard to fathom it.

7.) 03 Nov 2023 12:04:51
I remember LVG warning eth this was a commercial club first then a football club when he was looking at taking the job. The fanbase so big its hard to get tickets unless you pay above their value and always someone who will buy the seats.

Nothing going to change much until the leadership changes imo.

8.) 03 Nov 2023 12:26:07
Most of the fans at the stadium look pretty miserable these days….

9.) 03 Nov 2023 12:51:24
I would agree that the match going fans have the ability to pressure the Galzers the most but unfortunately havnt the back bone to go through with anything coherent.

There is no point in protecting outside the ground before a game, then going in and watching the game. That would have zero effect on the Glazers.

10.) 03 Nov 2023 14:06:37
Yes that is it Mumbles, no back bone. Joker.

11.) 03 Nov 2023 14:54:50
Well GDS2, if the eds didn't edit out half my post, I explained why.

Empty stadiums during our home games would have the Glazers gone fairly quickly. The negativity around the club would make sponsors run for the hills and the owners would look to leave.

Singing songs outside a stadium, then going to the megastore, getting a few beers and a pie before the game and at half time is hardly putting pressure on the owners.

I would not say they have no backbone.
I'd say simply that vast majority like gds2 says don't care enough for it to stop them going. It really is as simple as that.

Some did stop going for sure, but with the 79k there every week its proven that they don't care so much that they won't go. The reasons for going like gds2 says outweigh the reasons for not going. Simple. We know we have a few on the site that don't go anymore. For them, it was a different choice.

If 5000 season ticket holders cared enough and stopped going, those tickets would be sold overnight because there are more reasons to go for most than not go.
Once things are improving on the pitch, the futile protests will subside and the noise will reduce substantially imo.

If I don't like a certain airline. I will choose not to travel with them. I won't buy a ticket and moan about every aspect of the journey every week. ?.

13.) 03 Nov 2023 15:31:40
Have to say that I completely disagree with this, I am lthough I am no longer a season ticket holder I take my son whenwvwr I can't just as my dad, uncle and grandad did with me and my cousin when we were his age.

We both get a buzz every match, even though it's been dire of late. He'll we get a buzz when we go to watch PNE at Deepdale and we aren't even fans.

United make a Lot more revenue elsewhere then stadium, empty seats would not be a good luck admittedly but the sole outcome would less money for the powers that be to spank on crap signings. The Glazera won't sell for less than they want, and it won't affect the price of fans stay away for a while.

No one is forced to go to OT but I will every chance I get when work nd life allows.

14.) 03 Nov 2023 15:37:52
Very different that though Ken isn’t it, I assume that airline hasn’t been supported by 4 generations of your family who have been flying with them every week for 100 years? That’s how it is for some people, supporting the football club and being a part of that family has helped me through some tough times and that’s how it is for many others.

If I thought me not going to the games would make the club win the league I’d stop going tomorrow but me not going wouldn’t make a blind bit of difference, the Glazers won’t sell and I’d be sat at home miserable while my family and friends were at the game. It’s not that I don’t care, just unless everyone does it (which they won’t) then the odd few doing it doesn’t matter.

15.) 03 Nov 2023 16:32:25
Yes exactly gds2 you don't care enough not to go. I don't blame you for that. There are more reasons for you to go than not go.
I couldn't give a hoot what my grandad did or my dad if I felt strongly enough I would not go.
You don't feel strongly enough.
But what your saying is if Everyone stuck their hands in the fire you would put yours in too.
I have you down as anti glazer ownership I think like the vast majority. But the fact the own the club is not enough to stop you going. I respect that. I see nothing wrong with that at all.

16.) 03 Nov 2023 16:59:21
Strong words directed to me and unnecessarily so GD2. Just my view. You have yours which I respect.

17.) 03 Nov 2023 18:54:48
GDS2, I'm talking about giving back your season ticket, as Ken said, there would be 100,000 people waiting to take your place.

I'm talking about leaving games, making a bigger statement than singing "we want Glazers out" and then leave the ground saying "that will show them".

My family had 2 season tickets for three seasons from 2007 until 2010. Traveling from Ireland took its toll financially. I go to 2 or 3 games a year. If one of the games I was at had a protest planned, I'd leave. Drink and sing songs outside Old Trafford would probably be more entertaining than watching a 1 nil win against Luton.

To be able to say in the future "I was there protesting, amazing what so many people came together to try and make the change they wanted"

Back bone is probably not the right phrase to use. Too comfortable is probably better.

18.) 03 Nov 2023 19:20:01
That should say "not talking about giving your season ticket back"

19.) 03 Nov 2023 20:13:33
We had this exact conversation years ago Ken, I thought you were talking nonsense then too. You have no idea how much I care, I’ve explained and you’re ignoring me and saying what you think so never mind.

Your original post were strong words directed at me and many other season ticket holders unruly so I quite rightly responded, nothing personal.

20.) 03 Nov 2023 22:26:13
Shame on you mumbles. I usually agree with you on most things but you can’t be calling match going reds cowards. I’ve been fortunate enough to go for years, and I say fortunate enough, because some of the people I sit near spend what little money they have remaining to buy their season tickets for 30 or 40 years. You clearly have no idea what it’s like for some people who go to every home game, nor what it’s like in some of the areas around south and west Manchester. These are genuinely nice people who love the club and their lives revolve around going to old Trafford to talk to people and support the team. Regardless of how bad the team may be, the online fan base is fairly disconnected from match going fans.

21.) 03 Nov 2023 22:31:55
Gsd2 you seem to misunderstand. I've no issue with you going at all. I'm not suggesting you don't go. The exact opposite actually. Your too determined to have an argument to read properly.
You have more reasons to go than not go. Your disdain for the owners is trumped by your love of the team. That's the way it should be and that's the way it is for the vast majority. Everybody has their choice not to take your route and to not go but imo that's daft because like you they realise the team is more important than the owners.

22.) 03 Nov 2023 23:13:19
Wazza, I said back bone wasn't the right phrase. The problem is the season ticket holders that complain about the ownership and do nothing unfortunately are a problem.

I understand the cost of a season ticket. For me to go to 2 games a year is the same price as a season ticket. I understand the connection the match going fans have but I'll reiterate, they're too comfortable.

Very hard to organise 65,000 fans to do one thing, but there's never been a mass walkout at a game.

My views are if you have a season ticket, you're guaranteed to see United again anyways so therefore it would be a lot easier to walk out and protest.

If you don't like the government in charge but don't bother voting at the next general election then should you have an opinion on it?

He deleted Utd related stuff and left those from Sunderland. I know we play some haram football under ten Hag but come on, read between the lines. I get his frustration though. I too would be fuming if Antony was playing more minutes than me, and I am not even a professional footballer.

Ed002, wouldn't Stuttgart be obliged to sell if a team met the terms of the release clause?

Simeone has to be up there with some of the worst shouts. His sides play mind numbing football I would rather take Mourinho back.

Did you guys even read the article to get the context of that quote or are you just off excerpts on social media. He says he was 11 when he got offered a lot of money to leave, which he turned down because he wanted to play for Utd. He was a kid coming from a struggling background and obviously taking the money would have been the easy route out. I agree that his attitude stinks and he needs to shape up or ship out, but don't be making up stuff just to have a go at him.
