Has Ralf Rangnick left by choice or was he forced to leave by higher ups and/ or circumstances?

{Ed002's Note - It was never be a viable position moving forward and it would have made it even more difficult for the DoF.}

Well i guess it is for the better. Thanks for the reply Ed002.

Ten Hag's words wouldn't have given him much encouragement. Maybe the clean break is best.

5.) 29 May 2022 20:37:18
I'm sure they were talking throughout despite their suggestions they had never met, so this news a week into ten Hag's appointment is bizarre. Maybe Ralph's opinion that we needed 10 players put the frighteners up everyone if Erik is happy to go for a couple and consolidate with youth and returning players.

6.) 29 May 2022 23:31:15
You can say that again unruly.

If interested in taking a closer look at James Garner, tonight Forest play Sheffield in the 2nd leg of the play offs with Forest at home and a goal up. Forest have done unbelievably well this year and just might be in the PL next season, and Garner has been a huge part of that. I'll be cheering them on.

1.) 17 May 2022 22:03:39
Watched the game to second period of ET so far and sorry but I am not seeing a player who has taken the game by the scruff. Looks solid positionally, makes it difficult for opposition in those areas, delivers a reasonable set piece, does a job. I can’t see a player who is top of premier league standard. We all want our own to be the answer, not seeing anything special in Garner, just a decent player.

2.) 17 May 2022 22:47:20
Agree with Red Man, albeit I’m judging him on one game that I’ve seen him for a full match.

3.) 18 May 2022 00:43:46
Completely agree Red Man. In fact, I thought Norwood had a good game for SU as did gibbs-white who is on loan from Wolves.
For Forest, samba the gk and Spence showed quality.
Re Garner, there were three occasions when the ball came to him in a frantic second half, he had time to control and pass the ball, but on every occasion, he just booted or headed the ball aimlessly. I know he's had good games, but over the two playoff games, he was disappointing.

4.) 18 May 2022 06:31:09
Sounds like he'd fit in perfectly with the rest of our midfield thrn.

5.) 18 May 2022 07:31:52
I hope forest get promoted and buy him for 20m.
Good player imo but not a very good player.
He will I'm sure get an opportunity to impress eth in pre season I have my doubts as to whether he will make the hedda grade.
He has been a relatively late developer so there maybe more improvement. I think he will have a good career without ever reaching great heights but I'm only basing that opinion having seen him play half a dozen games for forest.

6.) 18 May 2022 08:24:53
Agree with all of the above. In Garner's defence though, the game was barely in the midfield area, with both sets of defenders booting it up to the forwards. The quality of actual football was so poor, but the passion and effort put in by both teams was unlike anything I've seen from the pretenders in our club in a long time.

7.) 18 May 2022 09:22:10
Agree with all points above: he seemed really tidy with few misplaced passes plus a few moments of skill that set him apart but didn’t stand out and seemed quite slight in comparison to other bruisers on the pitch.

Maybe he can fill out a bit more and be one more imposing - loan to premiership side best thing for him for a year, not ready for United first team yet.

8.) 18 May 2022 18:21:06
I think he's one who could step up, how far he could get I think is still unclear.

In a perfect world Forest will get promoted and he can spend another year on loan there in a team he is settled in playing at the EPL level and we can get a better look at him at that standard.

9.) 18 May 2022 21:44:02
W16wes, I like Garner's attitude and determination, but has he the quality to be a top midfielder? Not in my opinion. You watch Rice 3 years ago, and he looked so mature and accomplished. I don't see that in Garner.
We don't need more average players, we need top quality or players who show promise to be top quality.

02 Feb 2022 14:34:28
Seen the highlights of Uruguay- Venezuela where our very own Edi Cavani got a goal. The thing that got my eye though was Pelistri. He was so sleek in his movement to create a goal it was Messi-esque. We may have focused so much on the homegrown Greenwood and forgot what a gem we have in Pelistri and Amad (who already has a goal for Rangers) .

If the two lads, plus Mejbri can live up to their potential then they certainly are first team material. Not forgetting Elanga who is doing good things in the first team and Mengi and Garner who are similarly having great loans. Just pop over to the Forest page and see how much they rate Garner.

Not all doom and gloom despite the Greenwood shocker.

1.) 02 Feb 2022 14:58:25
And who would be the best manager to bring our youth prospects through, Ten Hag. We can but dream.

2.) 02 Feb 2022 15:00:39
Greenwood is a talent no doubt, but we have had players from our academy with great talent who didn't go on to make it.

Ravel Morrison being the most obvious more recent example.

Talent is only half the equation, with the other half being mentality/ attitude.

The old adage of "hard work beats talent when talent forgets to work hard" springs to mind.

Paul Gascoigne remains to this day the most talented English player I've ever seen. But he didn't have the right attitude to get to the top. Imagine if he had Ronaldo's dedication and work rate.

Greenwood doesn't look like he'll make it. Move on and see who can step up.

3.) 02 Feb 2022 15:14:42
mason is a different class tho shappy, its a shame he has ruined what could have been a glittering career.

4.) 02 Feb 2022 15:35:22
Bolger, maybe, but having the talent alone isn't enough.

We've had great players come through the academy, Mason had the talent to be the next one. But he won't be the last.

5.) 02 Feb 2022 15:47:34
I did shaw parts of this game and i totally agree. He was helping his defence too and he was very good. I think he now have started two games in a row with his national team. Although we must not overhyping him because his loan don't go so well.
I was impressed with Uruguays players, even at 4-0 they pressed like mad dogs in some spells.

6.) 02 Feb 2022 15:54:26
Which makes me wonder why did we go ahead and loan Pellestri to alaves where has 0 assists or goals.
He should have not left for a relegation fighting team.
Even though he won't stay but Andreas Pereira was also earning rave reviews from his time at that brazillian club.
The next coach will again have extra players that need to be moved on.
I for hope Pogba, Lingard and Mata contracts aren't extended any further.
Then there's tuanzebe who I'm not sure if is even going to be part of our first team.

7.) 02 Feb 2022 20:48:04
Greenwood should not be mentioned other than the filty animal he is.
He is bang to rights and hopefully will be doing serious time.
Absolutely finished as a footballer.

8.) 03 Feb 2022 10:21:40
One thing i love about Uruguayan players is their attitude, they're born fighters even if it went a little too far at times in Suarez case.

13 Dec 2021 11:29:24
PSG it is. Weird that is what i predicted a day or 2 ago.

One cannot help but feel that the draw isn't really a draw but a well choreographed plan to create story lines and maybe get rid of some players and teams early.

Cannot wait for it, i hope all of Mbappe, Neymar and Messi play.

1.) 13 Dec 2021 14:28:08
Your wrong so it is athletico.

29 Sep 2021 11:36:24
Yeah yeah we get it we all hate Ole and he is clueless etc etc.

But, did anyone watch last night's PSG vs City match. There was a De Bruyne challenge in the first half that was similar, if not worse than the AWB challenge against Young Boys. Surprise surprise, KDB only gets a yellow and a pat in the back.

Now i don't think AWB challenge was fair. Infact i agree it was reckless and deserved a red. But why was KDB not sent off for a similar offence? It seems that some teams tend to get the rub of the green a lot more than others. It is the inconsistency really that p. es me off. The ref didn't even consult VAR .

1.) 29 Sep 2021 12:01:14
Total lack of consistency between refs in the same competition, it’s madness really.

2.) 29 Sep 2021 12:01:53
I thought ref last night had a shocker. He wanted to let the game flow but he let far too many fouls go, and yes, KDBs challenge was poor.

3.) 29 Sep 2021 12:07:50
for me I wouldn't blame the ref VAR should have intervened as that is clear and obvious error going off the Bissaka red card. I don't think all the European leagues refs should ref the champions league as this cause way to much inconsistencies due to the difference between the leagues instead they should have champions league refs and they just ref that this would take away a lot of the inconsistencies in the European game.

4.) 29 Sep 2021 11:54:17
It was a sending off that’s for sure, I would think VAR was in his ear saying it’s ok…. I don’t go along with the theory that some teams are treated better or worse then others, that’s just life, you make your own luck in life and games it’s only whingers that harp on about unfair treatment when trying to cover up there own inadequacy, which is now the path Ole as chosen, let’s blame everyone else except ourselves!
TBF if city had a proper striker they would have won that game!

5.) 29 Sep 2021 13:36:22

I don’t think the OP was making excuses, he literally said the thing that annoys him is the lack of consistency, how you managed to make that post a dig at the manager I’ve got no idea, not everything has to be about him you know?

Just to rub salt in the wounds AWB has been given an extra game ban because of how bad the tackle was, yet KDB walks away with a yellow, VAR is there to stop these things happening, it’s very frustrating.

6.) 29 Sep 2021 13:42:27
Bang on jack. For years libel supporters were like that. Still are in the main but now our manager and supporters are looking to point fingers with woe is me attitude. When the faults lie within not with refs, weather, travel or anything else.
Refs don't cost us matches our inability to actor more and conceded less is the problem nothing else.
Moaning about refs is pathetic.

7.) 29 Sep 2021 14:32:03
Our greatest manager ever used to moan about refs all the time, he was well known for it. #SAFout.

8.) 29 Sep 2021 14:32:13
Awb been suspended 2 games now apparently. UEFA has given him an extra game ban. Bet that will cheer u up ?‍♂️.

9.) 29 Sep 2021 15:06:42
Jackanus and Ken, I made no excuses about our performance against Young Boys. We were pathetic and I lay full blame on the management. I was talking abut the specific incident in which AWB was sent off, and the incident where KDB was not sent off for a similar offence.

Not everything has to be about Ole. He doesn't live rent free in everyone's heads like he does in the two of you.

10.) 29 Sep 2021 15:13:36
IMO be a godsend he gets 2 games LOL. Might see a bit more control and better movement down the right now and someone who can take a pass in his stride and put ball in without breaking stride that would be so nice, problem is we not got that someone! because we spent 50mil on someone who can’t and seasons later still can’t, coaches have to take some blame for that not just AWB though.

11.) 29 Sep 2021 15:54:50
Why would we be better down the right, did we sign Trippier and I missed it? Dalot should be on his way out of the club but now he’s worryingly starting CL games for us.

12.) 29 Sep 2021 16:23:13
GDS2. ….deleted.

{Ed014's Note - be nice fella.

13.) 29 Sep 2021 17:44:37
Unruly I was not responding to you.

14.) 29 Sep 2021 18:36:21

Would love to know what that was ?.

{Ed014's Note - that was one of two I deleted aimed at you, not sure he’s a fan ?‍♂️?

15.) 29 Sep 2021 19:16:07
Apologies Ed014 I was coming down to the same level as his replies which I should not have done sincere apologies to you.

{Ed014's Note - no probs just enjoy the banter mate

I don’t think any of my replies have abused you mate so I’m guessing you went down an extra level, I assume from your posts that you are young, Ken’s son maybe so I won’t be sinking to abuse, just enjoy the ride, this place can be fun.

I am hearing rumours that the legend that is Phil Jones scored twice in a behind closed doors friendly against Burnley. Give the man a lifetime contract I say.

1.) 17 Aug 2021 16:39:50
Give the guy a break. He didn’t get injured on purpose. No doubt you would have turned his lucrative contract down?

2.) 17 Aug 2021 16:46:04
Seemingly it was Martial, Lingard and Fred. Jones got pretending to be a player award.

3.) 17 Aug 2021 17:00:58
Maguire, Lingard and Fred.

4.) 17 Aug 2021 17:28:47
Discountdave, i know. I was only kidding.

5.) 17 Aug 2021 18:18:46
Big Phil is okay with the banter, as he says when it goes too far I just get out my medals. One of only two players that have won the Premier League with United left in the team . respect.

6.) 17 Aug 2021 20:33:53
Dave, the maguire goal hit martial on the way in so would be martial’s goal.

Whenever I play football I'm usually out of breath by the 15th Minute and I'm usually just standing in an offside position for the rest of the match waiting for an easy goal.

And yet if I was to sign for Utd I still wouldn't be a downgrade on Pogba.

Appreciate the info Ed002.

I wish the club could look at Goncalo Inacio of Sporting. I think he will be world class.

{Ed002's Note - Goncalo Inacio (CB) Newcastle have utilised a very high-end scout - an ex-PL player to look at the Sporting player. Sporting will not sell unless there is a huge offer. Wolves are keen. Manchester United may offer a wildcard option but have other priorities.}

Ed002 if you have time, is it true that Man Utd are interested in Lisandro Martinez as an alternative to Timber?

{Ed002's Note - Lisandro Martinez (CB) An approach by Manchester United may be on the cards but the clear two preferred targets are others. For Arsenal, if Saliba gets his wish to leave he would be one of several options the club has identified. Ajax do not want to sell.}

Too much pressure on Garnacho if we start him. I'd rather he comes on around the 60th minute, scores not withstanding. Rashford as a 9 and 3 of Fred, Bruno, Eriksen, Iqbal and McT in midfield.

Shappy, i think Pereira is good value at 4.5m. Also among the Utd contingent i think Rashford is available for 6.5m and Sancho at 7.5m. Another one is Lingard who's quite cheap and may well hit the ground running as he did with West Ham.

The club should tell him that he's surplus to requirements and should get himself a new club or accept a bit part role and go out and sign a younger forward who actually wants to play for Utd. People keep going on about Maguire, Lingard, Pogba etc. And yet none of them have disrespected the club in the manner that Ronaldo has. The club need to take a stance for once and set an example that no one, even the greatest player to ever play the game is bigger than the club.

Martinez has an impressive range of passing from deep. Coupled with his height I think Ten Hag intends to use him as a DM and as cover for CB. If either one or two of Jones, Bailly or Lindelof leave I can see us going for a new CB.

50M sounds about right. No need to make it seem like we are offering them a swap deal for Maguire which would have been derogatory. Ajax have the right to say no. Its not as if we are forcing them to sell now is it? We have spent years throwing money at anything that moves. Perhaps it is time we started to bid for players at what we think they are worth. If the selling club doesn't fancy the bid we can always move on to other targets.
