Anyone know if it is true that EPL teams can sign Free Agents even with though the Transfer Window is shut?

Claudio Marchisio (had a knee surgery) , Yohan Cabaye, Llorente, Jack Rodwell, Lewis Holtby, Kiesuke Honda, Seydou Doumbia are a few high profile Free Agents available. I would olny be interested in Llorente just to provide a different dimension to our game.

Not sure there's anyone worth taking on a free but we could. Bit desperate though and would be admitting they should've got another player in the window.

If Sanchez leaves, Lorente would be a good option especially as a plan B from bench.

We currently have 30 players training in the first team squad.
We should only add more players if we see several leave AND they are first team quality.
I don't think any of the players available on a free transfer are first team quality. So best leave them alone.

True Shappy, but more that 10 of these are defenders. I don't think 1st team quality is the yardstick in this case. Rather a plan B or C back up of sorts. But in all honesty I have not gone through the list of these available players to know if any can improve our current team.

Lindelof, Maguire, Bailly, Smalling, Jones, Rojo, Tuanzebe, Shaw, AWB, Dalot, Young, Darmian.
That's 12 defenders.
Need to ship out atleast 3 from this lot.
