CBJ ok loan at Scunny, my home town. Hopefully he plays well. I thought he looked good for us under LVG and had hopes for him.
I doubt he will play a other gane for the club.

Mad - the amount of abuse I picked up for saying exactly that a few years ago was incredible. I said the same about Reece James, Paddy McNair, Donald Love and Tyler Blackett. Absolute pelters I got but I think some of our fans forget they support Man Utd, not Decentish Utd.

Betting against the success of our academy graduates is pretty fruitful for I told you so moments Beast. About 1 in 50 makes it at man utd, if that.

I think some just want to see the lads get a bit of support from their own fans to give them a bit of time to grow into themselves. Making that last leap from first team debut to solid squad regular is probably the biggest jump of all, but they don't have a chance if they aren't given a chance before the knives come out.

Not betting against them.

Stating that they didn't look good enough, then getting dogs abuse saying I was wrong and they would be playing for the team for many years to come - that is what I'm talking about. Stop living up to your name!

Haha, likewise 😉

My point wasn't only aimed at you beast. Lots of people look back fondly on utd history, but then show zero patience for young players who are inconsistent.

Sometimes the only way to develop is to play matches against good players. Harry Kane springs to mind, he was nowhere near first choice at the start of his break out season - but time and games meant he had the opportunity to grow and step up.

Have we ever loaned a player to another top flight team and they've come back and been successful? I think the loan has to come earlier to lower division teams, which is a much better standard than U23s. I rate Tuanzebe, but not sure of his route to the team unless he dislodges Tony at right back while he develops.

I don’t think that’s the case at all. Beast is completely right. We haven’t invested enough in our academy and youth development for years. We are getting by on the reputation created by the class of 92, but our youth players, by and large, are not getting to the standard required to play at a top level club. Ed001 has talked about this in the past, and us using our academy as a money churner.
