We are looking for two mid fielders.
1st one is going to be one from savic, Fred or Kroos.
I think qe would end up going for Savic as we like spending big on a midfielder.

Seems we are after two Scholes. That would be a dream window for sure. Seems the midfielders we are interested in are Fred, Jorginho and Milinkovic Savic. I think pogba will stay put and Carrick will retire with fellaini leaving. Maybe even a chance Herrera will too. If he does I would love to sign 2 out of those three players and promote pereira and fosu mensah to the squad. May see mctominay go on loan.

Savic i believe is first choice by the club and Mourinho, Kroos is preferrd by Mourinho so maybe second choice and Fred is third choice.

For the second midfielder its going to be between Jorginho but he wants Man city and guardiola.
Fabinho but isn't really preferred and Casemiro who is a Jose Mourinho favourite.
I reckon it will be Casemiro and Savic that will be signed.
If we sign big on a lb such as Sandro then Savic might not be possible and may go for Kroos instead.

Agree Park, would love to see Pereira and Fosu given a chance, along with Tunazebe but i hope Fellaini and Smalling are sold, we should pay a club to take them off us lol. Midfield options of Pogba Fred Matic Savic Pereira Herrera would be very very strong indeed. Also need to sort out the width, can barely remember seeing any attacks come down the right wing, would swap Martial for Pulisic in a heartbeat.

I'd take Casemiro and Savic, but one thing is for sure, we NEED to get the right players in, players who suit the 'system' rather than superstars like Bale and Dybala. We must put up a proper title challenge next season and progress into the latter stages of the CL. Before every window we say 'the deadwood needs to be sold', hopefully its done this time round. Just desperate to see us properly competing for titles again, been far too long.

Think city will sign Jorginho and we will sign Savic and Fred. Savic to replace Fellaini, Fred to replace Herrera who will head back to Spain. The big question is who will replace Carrick?

Agree Scholes need to be signing players that fit the system. Need to stop with the square pegs in round holes. Which is why full backs are the priority for me. Agree buggy unfortunately Jorginho wants city as he would have been an ideal Carrick replacement. What we need is for Jose to replicate his great Chelsea teams’ midfields. We have a makele sort of player in matic already but need to be rotating him more or he will burn out by November again. We have similar lampard player in pogba and pereira for me can slot into that role if need be. We miss an engine in midfield. An Essien in his prime would have been ideal for us. From what I’ve seen from Fred he seems to be a box to box player and would be a very welcome addition. Milinkovic Savic looks an outstanding player and I don’t buy into the notion him and pogba may not be able to play together as they are too similar. I don’t necessarily think we need a like for like replacement for Carrick but someone that provides energy and the ability to pass the ball forward as we seem to only have pogba who can do so.

Players are dynamic, very important thing is to bring in qualities and improve our squad.

Good question Stevie. That's why so much time and money is spent by some clubs on researching the character of the player.
I look at some of our players and they are not busting a gut to win or at least it doesn't appear so.
People get upset when the manager calls that out sometimes, I have to say more often than not he is right.
We have a core group of about 10 or 12 players here for the last 4 or 5 years that have never put a title competing seadon together for 3 different managers. 6, 7 or 8 of the squad that began this season won't be here next season and they won't be missed 1 bit. Carrick ibra and miki for sure fellaini? Shaw darmian blind? Mata? Herrera? Martial? Rojo? Jones? All with the exception of jones and rojo have only 1 year left on their contracts. The club has some big months ahead trying to sort a squad for next season. Some of those will get a new contract but not many I suspect.
