Quick point in relation to people saying some of us are 'embarrassing' being critical so soon. I think some people just don't believe the steps taken so far are positive ones. You typically don't start walking forward by going backwards - the bar was already lower than ground level.

People were saying the same thing about LVG, it was taboo to criticize him for 18 months, I have read the word "Embarrassing" a lot on here recently when it comes to critical fans, why would you be embarrassed? Jose is not happy with how things are going, so why are we not allowed to be?

I just think it's people like me having genuine concerns. Without having access to the master plan we have to judge what is put in front of us, surely the LVG debacle taught us that much guys? That lesson was hard learnt by some people, ultimately you have to ignore the waffle and see the progress, or lack of it on the pitch.

Wishful thinking has a nasty habit of catching you out. Jose has left a lot to be desired, because the basics he could have changed he hasn't yet. Energy, captaincy, attacking intent, hunger, these are all things that can change overnight and needed changing over night. The things that take time are connections, patterns, team work, that will naturally take time and nobody expects that yet. In saying that, some other teams are managing just fine with new managers and inferior players, so again it's concerning.

I'm not asking for perfection, I am asking for progress, if that is embarrassing then you really need to understand what Man Utd stood for and this mockery is certainly not that.

Don't let our standards slip any further please by calling out those people that are asking for better, otherwise the bar lowers and we become used to rubbish.

{Ed007's Note - Never mind all that - have you set up that N64 yet?}

Agree4 Disagree9

haha - I'm away at the minute, it'll be one for the future, a bit like Bebe!

{Ed007's Note - Well remember if you're flogging it I want first dibs on it. I think I've been ripped off with James Pond II, I paid for it a week ago and the it's still not here AND the pr1ck seems to be ignoring my messages. Gggrrrrrrrr.}

23 Sep 2016 00:45:35
As long as you have Goldeneye and some mates to shoot then no worries Bond!

{Ed007's Note - I never had an N64 but I remember playing that on my mate's wee brother's during some drinking sessions back in the day. It seems to still be really popular on the retro game pages I frequent and spend too much money on.}

Beast - I think Chelsea are going through the same issues. Their midfield three are not gelling and they looked like they had never met before when Liverpool turned them over.

I just like to see a little more perspective after so few games. Citeh outplayed us for most of the first half, but we could have got points from that game on another day.

The next two games were shocking and poor. Almost a crisis following the first loss.

We will improve.

imagine if you never supported a top team capable of winning things .
how would people cope.

{Ed025's Note - thats a bit of a low blow jred.. :)

23 Sep 2016 11:58:51
I thought you were better than that jred. Lol.

{Ed025's Note - one nasty piece of work imo shappy, talk about kicking a guy when hes down!.. :)

23 Sep 2016 12:22:23
ed it is a bit and its not aimed at anyone in particular, but read the site, a lot just seem interested in multi million pound players (who play for other teams ) .
if the cups dried up, and these things tend to go in cycles and we stop investing in the big names ( maybe decided to give the youth a chance ) how many fans would walk away?
no team has a god given right to win .
we are 5 games into the season and have lost 2 games, just spent a fourtune in the summer, broke the world transfer record .
but we have lost 2 league games .

better people than me and you are working on it and unless last season wasnt a blip and jose has lost it i'm sure we will be fine.

united fans have always had a bit of a bad name with other fans, and reading the page at times you can see why .
again this is not aimed at anyone in particular . but the overreaction is ridiculous to us losing 2 games, just like every team they won't be only games we lose.

{Ed025's Note - i know mate im just winding you up, the problem is jred that the united fans have been spoilt, 20 years of success and great football to boot means that when things are not going so well its a disaster, im sure you will be back but it make take a bit more time than some fans are willing to give them, you still have very good players but are not playing as a team for me but im sure that will come mate..

23 Sep 2016 12:24:26
by the way i do agree on golden eye.

23 Sep 2016 12:26:36
@dodgybanter very well put. couldn't have said it better myself but ima try.

@the beast so what you're suggesting is that 1)captaincy 2)energy 3)attacking intent 4)hunger should've changed over night!?!?!?! ermmm you realise you're talking about a team that finished 4th and 5th these past two years through the skin of their teeth and was royally screwed with in the tiny footballer brains by lvg. and those r your words. you need to chill, its been 5 games, relax, knowing you, you will definitely find properly embarasin performances so then you can let it all out here.

The masterplan's been shared with the people it needs to be shared with and they seem to be beside him, what with all the money they spent for him.

Hahaha 'don't let our standards fall', dude what are you on about, how the heck are we going to let anything fall. we don't own it. so dramatic. Be practical, support your team and the manger, give him atleast more than a month lol before raisin all the villagers. and be happier in general man. Peace.

ed
to be honest that my point 100 %.

{Ed041's Note - you can see the confusion :) united will be fine, I expect a challenge of sorts this season as only city doing what they have before may stop us. Get the balance sorted a bit of confidence and watch us fly.

23 Sep 2016 13:28:20
I believe we will improve, Beast you've got to keep the faith.
Tell me apart from the defence which players can say they have had a run decent run of consecutive games, say a 10 - 20 games since Fergie?
I think Jose will eventually get a settled team, soon I hope and then we can start to judge.
It will be my 1st game of the season tomorrow and I can't wait, not sure how well we will play but I will still be totally committed with my support.

23 Sep 2016 13:29:45
sure can ed which is why i tried to explain myself a bit better.

23 Sep 2016 16:49:28
The thing with me and maybe not all fans is I can gauge my expectations. If we had a team of half decent players, with a half decent manager and half decent resources I would accept half decent performances.

The fact is we do not. Those things that can change over night can do because the players should all be able to run further than they have been, the captain can be changed instantly, the manager can tell them to focus on attacking rather than whatever it is he is instructing them to do at the moment. He hasn't done this, it is more of the same and even worse because his precise ideas need time to take shape, so yet more confusion because of the rubbish LVG installed in them. BUT that doesn't excuse what we are seeing now.

The fact we have been bad for a few years should be mitigated by the hundreds of millions we have spent and learning that safety first doesn't work for Utd. The things that make you special will take time, but the basics can be adapted straight away, they haven't been, which is why I have a major problem.

I'm not greedy at all, I just expect us to be better than what we are - any neutral football follower would be expecting Man Utd to be looking better with the players, manager and resources - so it isn't being spoiled it's being mis-treated. If I supported West Brom my expectations would be understandably different.

I would also be very concerned if I were a Stoke fan right now by the way.

23 Sep 2016 17:36:07
I still think we will win the league.

23 Sep 2016 18:27:16
We should win the league Deano, that's why I put a few hundred on us pre-season. However we seem to be going nowhere fast at the minute. I hope it clicks soon, (feels like I have been saying that for 3 years) .

23 Sep 2016 19:04:25
I've still got my old n64, quality.

23 Sep 2016 20:55:54
I was pretty outspoken last year justifiably imo. I am also realistic, this season was never going to be easy. Getting all the right players in Place (still a work in progress) is one thing, getting a team to gel is quite another. Other teams that we get compared with have evolved gradually, even with managerial changes, rather than coping with three revolutions of structure and philosophy. It will come but it needs our patience and support.
I do not have rose tinted spectacles and honestly at this time I am not happy with our situation, but then neither is Jose. I am far from being critical. Join me!
