Question for ed001 or ed025, as you know I respect both your opinions, and whilst we don't always agree you both talk a lot of sense for scousers😉
What do you think will happen at united on the following this summer?
1 will ddg stay or go, I'm hearing he will stay.
2. Will lvg go as expected and who do you think will replace him
3. Which players do you see leaving the club, or in your opinion should be sold
4. What players do you see coming to the club or in your opinion the club will try to bring in.
I'm sure a lot of the answers are dependent on our final position.
Thanks if you have the time.
Ed025 you can keep Barkley mate😄.

{Ed025's Note - a lot to take in there ken and the answers will be my personal opinion and not due to any inside information mate....as i am aware de gea agreed to stay on for one more season and then would be allowed to leave, whether that is still the case im not sure, its been reported that mourinho had signed a pre-contract agreement to join utd but thats simply not true, LVG will be given another season i believe if he delivers CL football this season but if he fails then jose would be my bet to replace him. getting rid of players like rooney will be difficult as who will pay them sort of wages?, for me the midfield is weak and the likes of blind, herrera, bastian and schneiderlin are not good enough for a club like united, the defence is also a worry and the need for a quality CB is glaringly obvious. players coming in is a difficult one as a lot will depend on the managerial situation, if it were me i would be looking at the likes of gotze, pogba, mahrez and aubameyang...certainly not over hyped players like barkley..i hope that helps mate..

Agree1 Disagree0

ed mourinho not signing a pre contract is that what u know or what u think, also u don't want us taking barkley because he is overhyped or because he is overhyped and an everton player.

{Ed025's Note - a reliable source informed me about mourinho CSM, ross as a player is overhyped for me , we have this fixation with players who are english and boosting them up to be something they are not, having watched him from when he was a kid i know the guy has talent, but he gives the ball away too easily and even though he sees a lot of the ball its mainly sideways movement and he has always had a lack of belief in his own ability which inhibits his true potential, maybe a decent manager could get better out of him but for the money everton would want i think he would be a poor investment for the likes of united mate..

Do you mind if we all pitch in our thoughts Ken?

1) I think that DDG will stay and Madrid will either stick with Navas who has been excellent and is well liked by the fans, or will go for Courtois who is looking to leave.

2) I am terrified that LVG will be given another year. It would be the worst decision that the club has ever made. I really want us to be in the CL, but if it means the clown is in charge what's the point? No progress will be made.

3) I don't think we will see a mass exodus. We will see one or two leave. If a new manager came in (like Mourinho) then there would be no hope for the likes of Valencia, Young, Rojo, Jones and Fellaini - if the clown remains then they all may have a future here. My personal opinion is that every player other than De Gea, Shaw, Schneiderlin and Martial (out of the 'senior' lot) has a price that I would sell for without a second thought.

4) I guess transfers depend on the boss. Whoever is in charge I hope they can see that we are weak at centre back, need a midfielder with legs, a right winger and either a left winger or striker depending on the plan for Martial. If Martial is at #9 then we should not be investing in a big name striker, a rotation option though yes. My preferences would be Stones/ Marquinhos, also a fan of Mustafi/ Toprak, Andre Gomes, O. Dembele and then a back up striker, someone like Enner Valencia would be suitable. I don't necessarily want to see us go and spend silly amounts on one player, we are more than capable of getting good players who can blossom. I have tried to exclude the fantasy signings like Kroos and Ibra.

Thanks ed. Interesting that you say the midfield is terribly weak and also centre half but only mention pogba and no centre half.
I don't rate aubangeyang but if love the other 3 you mention.
Personally I would like hummells kante sanches zlatan and mahrez I think Leicester would take 60m for the pair 25m for hummells 40m for sanches zlatan free but crazy wages I suspect. I disagree on Morgan and agree that moving rooney will be difficult although if he is out of the picture he will demand out and that changes things considerably.
I'm heading ddg will stay and that lvg is going for sure and Jose coming in. But I think things are up in the air add you correctly say.
Thanks for the reply mate.
I hope Everton spend wisely I suspect that you hope Bobby is offered the Valencia job😀.

{Ed025's Note - i will carry bobby on my back to valencia ken, i forgot about kante hes a class act and zlatan wants £600,000 a week its reported and as much as i like him thats just silly. i believe the EPL needs a strong utd side but they have to spend a lot better than they have in the recent past for that to happen, they have too many average players for me and need to buy quality even if its only one or two mate..

04 Apr 2016 17:10:33
thanks ed, hopefully your reliable source turns out to be incorrect atleast for utd's sake.

{Ed001's Note - Moyes could not sign a secret pre-contract agreement, the club would have to tell the stock market they are listed on if that happened.}

04 Apr 2016 17:12:59
Barkley is 22 the same age as scholes was when he played his first game for united .
Young english player get over hyped in the media then fans imo rate them against what they have read in the paper .
Barkely is only 22, good size, good pace good engine. Has good range of passing can pass with both feet has an eye for goal and can beat a man (unlike many cm) .
He is a young lad playing in an underperforming team with all the attributes to be a top player .
Has massive potential imo .

04 Apr 2016 17:26:53
Jred Scholes was 19 when he made his United debut.

04 Apr 2016 17:33:59
@Ed001

Why would you mention Moyes even by mistake? Haven't we already suffered enough?

{Ed001's Note - oh god that was a good Freudian slip there. I didn't mean to reveal his imminent return so early sorry! Now I know you will be all over excited....}

04 Apr 2016 17:41:27
He was 19 jred. But I agree that Barkley does have some serious talent. He would be very good in a midfield 3 but doubt he could play in a pair.

He will score at the Euro's and will be priced out of a move.

04 Apr 2016 17:22:14
I'm sure ed002 said de gea is as good as gone.

A good strong CB, another classy CM, Kronos for me, reads the game so well. Not many can play his role. And also another attacking winger. Rashford and Martial are the future, we need another exciting attacking player to compliment that talent.

04 Apr 2016 17:37:39
Mdh
Ha not sure why I've always thought that, worse thing is i'm sure i was at ot when he played his first league game there.
Maybe i'm older than what i think.

04 Apr 2016 18:45:27
But ed001, if media reports are true and the contract has an out wherein utd pay x amount and the pre-contract can be cancelled, then disclosure requirement is redundant unless we sign a contract with jose.

{Ed001's Note - that if is based on a bunch of people not having the intelligence or putting in the effort to check whether that is true.}

04 Apr 2016 20:52:32
Rooney for Barkley or Lukaku plus cash sounds good to me 😆😆.

04 Apr 2016 21:00:49
Thanks for input guys. There in obviously no binding agreement between the club and Jose but there is potentially an unofficial agreement depending on a couple of things.
Barkley would be a huge gamble. Hugely overrated imo and the one thing he is missing is pace he is painfully slow. He is blessed with good vision and great feet but I'm with Ed025 who knows him longer and watched him more than most from a young age. Not fit to be mentioned in the same sentence as gazza or the last Everton great rooney.
Ddg is an interesting one. If he goes and he may well do if we don't get cl football then that is very bad news no matter who comes in to replace him.
I'm told that lvg is going but if we finish strong get cl and win the cup who knows that may change but I doubt it.
I think we need to buy kante. He is like makelele on steroids and that is high praise. His energy and ability to do his job is fantastic.
Zlatan on huge wages for a 2 year deal is pretty low risk imo and he would bring that winning mentality and aura with him.
We need a ball winning talking leader at cb in the vidic/ terry mould rather than a marquinos or stones footballing cb ino
Rw mahrez is a decent option but I hate the African nations issue. Mane is another possibility but with the same issue. Lots of clubs will be spending big this year but for me is not about spending big is about spending well.
Did the Madrid transfer ban just disappear or what's the deal does anybody know?

04 Apr 2016 21:04:18
Here we go ken, I'll have a pop at those questions. Lol.

I think DDG will ultimately stay this summer, I think the original plan was for him to go, but with Navas playing so well and becoming a fan favourite I suspect they will delay signing DDG for anothet year or two and focus more on other areas.

I think LvG's future depends on UCL qualification. Personally I think we will just fall short of 4th which means we could be up for a change of manager. Mourinho is the safe bet, personally though I like Pochettino, Simeone or Emery. Would have liked Conte but he is at Chelsea now.

Players leaving is a tough one as it really depends on who is in charge, but for me Valencia, Jones, Rojo, Carrick, Januzaj, Fellaini and possibly Mata if Mourinho comes in could all see their time at the club come to a close.

As for who could come in, again it will depend who is in charge. Either way I expect a defender, midfielder and a striker with a wide player a strong possiblity. Personally I think we need two CB's especially if one leaves. I'd target one of Manolas, Van Dijk or Mustafi and one of Stones, Marquinhos or Bartra. I'd sign either Andre Gomes or Granit Xhaka for midfield. Then go all out for Griezmann. For the wide role I'd like to see either Gotze or Bernardeschi who has really impressed me recently.
Ideal would be Manolas, Bartra, Andre Gomes, Gotze and Griezmann.

04 Apr 2016 19:35:22
Is De geas agent Mendes?
If that is right wasn't or isn't Woodward trying to get closer to Mendes so isn't it likely he will stay, I hope he does, even if it means paying him ibrahimovic type money.
Eds what's your opinion on the youngsters coming through, mensah, williams, rash ford, Gomes, could they become regular 1st team players and save us millions?

{Ed025's Note - mendez is his agent eric but i wouldn,t look too much into that, im no expert on the youngsters mate but rashford and mensah look to have a bit about them but for them to progress they need players with experience around them to learn from, also i dont like them playing too often for me its slowly slowly catchee monkey where the kids are concerned, now i know you might quote the class of 92 at me but there is a serious case for burn-out..

04 Apr 2016 23:23:53
Ed025. Jury's still out on Schneiderlin. In the games he's played the full 90 minutes we're 11-5-2 for 38 points. Extrapolate that over 32 games and we'd be talking about the title being ours to lose since the only team ahead of us would be Leicester and we have them to play. That's not a bad impact for a first season. To me Schneiderlin is a little like Carrick and Fletcher, both of whom went about their business unspectacularly but formed the basis of winning teams. Great? Maybe not, but good enough to be United players.

{Ed025's Note - you have obviously seen more of him than me shawthing, but when i have seen him he has not really impressed me, but if as you say he could turn out like carrick then i take it all back as im a big fan of his mate..

05 Apr 2016 10:36:34
Schneiderlin is an unseen presence who does a lot of the work that no one else wants to do. His record in our team so far is impressive in terms of win-draw-loss ratio.

Shappy, why Gotze for the right wing? Would that not yet again be buying a number 10 and playing him wide?

Also, I wouldn't have Griezmann as a striker. I'd rather have someone like Lukaku with Griezmann out wide. I think signing him is fanciful anyway.

05 Apr 2016 12:50:47
Griezeman is not a right winger guys and has not played there for yonkers.

05 Apr 2016 08:31:46
Ed025 Did you see much of Morgan last season at Southampton mate? He was fantastic. I think he has been a victim of the regime like a few others but I do agree with you he hasn't hit his best for United this season. Hard to tell but he is at the perfect age career wise and I feel he should be part of the team next season.

Also with Coleman, Lukaku and Stones hopefully United bound will you be wearing a red top next season mate?

{Ed025's Note - i can never see that happening maze even though i respect united and its history and the guys on here. :) morgan was terrific last season but like a lot of that southampton side who moved on he has not really hit the ground running, when you look at the likes of lambert, lovren and lallana who were superb for them and cost big bucks they have hardly set their teams alight, im not saying morgan is a bad player though mate, just that i was expecting better to be honest..

05 Apr 2016 17:29:34
1. I think de gea will stay. He signed a 5 year contract and Madrid don't seem as interested. Navas is doing a great job and they might be looking elsewhere for their big marquee signing.
2. The only way that lvg will leave is if he doesn't achieve the goals that were set for him. If we achieve what was asked of him by the board what reason do we have for sacking him when he's only got 1 year left anyway? The plan is for giggs to take over and I think it will stay that way.
3. Personally the players I would get rid of would be jones, Fellaini and Valencia. They're the players i wouldn't have the time for. If lvg is still in charge i can't see any of those leaving, however I can see Januzaj being kicked out of the club.
4. If it was me i would personally sign a top young CB maybe varane or Marquinhos? I'd sign shanches and alli. Then mahrez and Kane.
