Beast, you criticize LvG saying that he has handicapped himself Into playing youth by having a thin squad.

How do you know that LvG wasn't thinking while reducing the numbers in squad that "if I have injuries then I will play the youngsters and give them a chance".
How can you completely ignore that giving youth a chance would have been a reason for reducing the number of players in the squad?

Surely we have enough money to keep the likes of Welbeck, Cleverley as backups but why can't we see LvG releasing them as him making place for Pereira and Lingard?

Mumbai Boy

I suggest Beast and clan reads LVG's comments

‘It is the way I lead this club, ’ said the manager. ‘I don’t want a big squad because when you have a big selection it doesn’t give any chance to the young players.
That is why I have sold a lot of players and have a lot out on loan. It means we only have a squad of 21 outfield players and three goalkeepers. So when there are injuries and illnesses I have to look at the youth allocation with my youth coaches. "

Is that clear enough?

It was not long ago people where screaming for the youngsters to get their chance, and now its not right to let them have a go? Christ, can LvG do anything right?

Norwegian,

With some people on this site, no he can't, it is obvious to every man and his dog that LVG didn't have to bring on Borthwick-Jackson on Saturday apart from Beast who thinks we brought him on because LVG sold Evra and Buttner or something equally ridiculous and Blind couldn't possibly have played there.

I think it is really impressive how he trusts the youth players, and it also makes the young players realise that if they work hard they will get their chance to prove themselves. We always used to be like that but it changed somewhat towards the end of the Fergie years.

Some of these players might not be as good as some world stars but I would rather see them busting a gut for the shirt rather than a £50 million+ prima donna thinking they are better than everyone else and not needing to put the effort in because the weather isn't great.

We were in dire straights last season with injuries. This season we have more games, a much thinner squad and we should be fighting for the league. Therefore being forced into playing youngsters and choosing to play youngsters are two different things.

We played WBA on Saturday, let's get things into perspective. When we are playing a tough team on Saturday and a big CL game on Tuesday with 3 or 4 injuries and LVG then having to play 2 or 3 youngsters I don't think you will be praising him for trying out youth! Especially if we get tonked and he will be the first to be bitching about his hand being forced. Some of you think the sun shines out of his backside, he is deluded and has miscalculated.

If Darmian, Valencia and Shaw were available Borthwick wouldn't be in the squad.

09 Nov 2015 10:42:26
However deluded and miscalculated LVG might be, he still knows a hell of a lot more than you do Beast and always will do.

09 Nov 2015 10:57:29
Beast,

Of course he wouldn't, but they are injured / suspended and LVG knew if we had injuries he would have the rely on his youth players. What part of this are you struggling to grasp?

Nobody would want him to try out youth in the big games that is why it is good he is doing so in games against teams like WBA, it is the perfect time to do it, your argument is making no sense on this occasion mate.

I doubt any of us think the sun shines out of his backside to be honest, we all have issues that we would like addressing, but when he does something worth complimenting him on then it is fair to compliment him. You are so far against him that you are making good things out to be bad things, it just makes your opinion on him seem biased as whatever happens you will always think the same thing if you can never see the good things. A bit of balance would do you some good at times.

Beast when Shaw, Darmian, Valencia are out would you rather LvG depended on Evra/Buttner or on Borthwick-Jackson?

09 Nov 2015 12:02:28
My major point is that it is too soon to be praising him for playing youth. The rest is just countering people getting on the defensive.

I've had enough of debating now. I make one point then people take what I say out of context and I spend half my time debating issues I never raised in the first place. Making me out to be a "hater" as Shappy says. I am simply putting a different side of the coin on the table.

We shouldn't be in a position after all the time and money spent to be bringing on untested players because of no viable alternative. If Shaw or Darmian was on the bench then I could understand people praising LVG for blooding youth. Yes he has gotten rid of squad players, isn't that stupid considering our problems with injuries and more games? Youth are by nature a gamble as we have seen with Wilson and Januzaj, even Depay.

TOT66 - I beg to differ, he knows a lot about very little. He lacks the intelligence to think outside of his little ideas so when things go wrong he doesn't know what to do. I would learn from my mistakes, he compounds them.

See you all in a few weeks. I'm boring myself now having to argue things I don't really give a monkeys about because people have their own agendas.

Would that kid have got on the field at 0-0 GDS2?

09 Nov 2015 13:24:28
Is shaw not a youngster?

09 Nov 2015 13:25:09
Martial started when it was nil all he is only 6 months older.

09 Nov 2015 13:47:19
Haha nice one Beast you know more than a premier league manager lol, the search for LVG's successor is over before it began. I doubt you have even been involved in the game at Sunday league level.

09 Nov 2015 14:10:33
Oh look beast is throwing how his toys out of the pram the moment he is shown to be making no sense.

Beast you do make some very good points, unfortunately in this instance your hatred for LvG has blinded you from the obvious.

You say I'he labelled you a hater as if I've been misinformed. Do you or do you not hate LvG? Because the tone of all your posts by would suggest you aren't that keen on him.

Is it or is it not a good thing that young players from our academy are given a chance?

09 Nov 2015 15:41:29
Beast

You can't fault him for giving the guy a run out no matter what the circumstances. Granted injuries might have something to do with it but that is the same with almost every team in the league and they draft someone who know one has heard of into the first team. I thought he did very well never having seen him before and maybe too early but at least we seem to have guys in the ranks that will potentially come through in a few years if they develop.

Young kid at city whose name i can"t remember, who scored a winner for City earlier in the season, that was also due to injuries.

Beast u do know the guy brought through youth at ajax Barcelona and bayern? You know, as in 3 of the best club sides you are ever likely to watch? He is famous for it. Your football is boring at times because u lack a bit of pace in forward areas, when u have that its going to be some team. U needed surgery in every area of the park yet because he sorts out you're defence and midfield first his tactics are outdated. LOL. he's won more things than youv had hot dinners my man and, if it wasnt for him Barcelona would never have achieved "best club side ever" plaudits, same goes for bayern, i'm sure your opinion keeps him up at night though.
