Who will start at lb on Sunday? Blind rojo oryoung . Personally I would play young there for this particular match. For 2 reasons. 1. He is diet and more match sharp. Rojo can start there on wed in carling cup to regain improve his match fitness. 2. Blind must start at cb.

I'd choose Young too, he's on good form and will take some attacking pressure off Memphis which will probably help him to have a better game. Going forward he's the only one who can be as effective as Shaw. Rojo would be used against a more physical team.

Got to be young for the simple reason of not moving blind out of the cb position I've been impressed really still gutted about shaw, he's been the one I thought wow about this season especially when we've not had it in a couple years, for the money evra left us for that also guts me could of done a decent job tho many won't agree

I would have young there too, it would allow our centre defenders to keep the understanding up.

I would go with Young, but I think he will go with Rojo. Probably a bit too attacking focussed having both Depay & Young on the left for the gaffer.
Mane plays on the right normally.

I would play Rojo as he is a defender and Young is a winger. We already have a midfielder playing CB so we could be doing with as many actual defenders as we can muster in the backline.
Rojo has more left back experience than Young also and with Depay off the boil in the PL we may need Young to come off the bench to help us salvage the game at somepoint.
Having said that Southampton can cause us problems and I believe they are a better team than PSV. If our defence (or should I say our midfielders playing in defence for that matter) make silly mistakes like they did in Eindhoven the Saints will punish us accordingly.

Actually MAZE, Blind is a LCB, LB, & CM. So no were not playing a CM at CB, he was already bought as a LCB.
And PSV would beat Southampton, did you not watch them in the Europa Qualifiers? They struggled alot.

i don't see the sense in splitting smalling and blind up .
so its rojo or young imo i would go for young can over lap better and more suited to the attacking fb role

FZZ- Blind was bought as a LCB? With the amount of games he played in midfield last season and our relentless chase for a CB this season the manager sure had me fooled (or more probably you fooled by the sounds of it).
Each to thier own opinion but I believe looking at the Southampton line up they are more dangerous than PSV.

Blind came as a LCB, he played it for Holland aswel as left back.
He was later added to CM during his last season or so for Ajax, but they knew his best position was defense.
He probably played CM in Holland due to the league being not as good.

He played only in midfield last season because we had a lack of center midfielders. Blind is a utility player.
Not great in Midfield so he won't start there, not great in Defense hence why we wanted a new CB in the summer, and if we got one he wouldn't start there either, same story left back. If he was just a midfielder he would be played there. You don't see Basti or Herrera playing CB because there are not utility players.

FZZ, so he's a jack of all trades but master of none. If De Gea had gone maybe we could of tried him there? He's not primarily a CB. He's a CM or LB. our manager prefers him to Jones, McNair and Rojo which tells its own story

Not sure what diet Young is on Ken but I would start him on the right wing with Memphis on the left for pace.
I think Blind should be our permanent left back now, he played most of his games for Ajax there. I'd get Jones or Rojo in at centre back, at least that way there are fewer people played out of position.
And then Martial and Rooney upfront of course. I'd see how we go without Mata for sure.

With blind doing well with Smalling at the back why change it? I really don't see the point. Either play Rojo left back where he plays for Argentina or, play young in there. I wouldn't upset our CB partnership at the moment as they're doing ok
