I know it is greedy, but am I the only one that would like to see the club sign both bale and depay?

We could play them as the wide players in a front three and allow them to rotate positions like Rooney, tevez and Ronald's used to. I also have a feeling the despite being different players depay could have a similar impact as suarez did when he arrived in the premier league.

Whilst I am being greedy I would also like to sign gundagon and naiggolan for the midfield.

Finally I would like hummels and Clyde for the defence.

And contentious as it may be I would be happy for David degea to head back to Madrid and replace with loris if it meant the players listed above arriving.

Let me know your thoughts.

{Ed025's Note - your a very greedy boy huggy.. :)

I said the same a few weeks ago about signing Depay and Bale and a few others agreed, so a lot of us think we should sign both. I think its likely as well, especially if ADM is moved on.

I'm not sure on Clyne to be honest, I want to like him but I think Rafael is better. (Or was better it has been that long since he has been given a decent run when fit).

I want Hummels and Vidal.

Rafael is not better than Clyne. Rafael is a player who has failed to develop beyond raw potential and, most importantly, cannot be relied on as a first choice player. Clyne has progressed every season, and is now a consistent and assured player who is ready to take the next step in his career. Most importantly he is a very balanced full back that can contribute in attack and defence. If we do sign the lad, I think people will soon see the massive benefits in having a positionally astute player covering things on the right.

I too would like Bale and Depay. Di Maria doesn't look like he wants to be here, and hasn't turned up for us. We need to strong direct wing forwards who can provide a creative option. So when teams sit deep like Everton and Chelsea, we have a real threat from the wide areas.

Danny - the thing about Rafael for me is that he looked a world beater in SAF's last season, like so many of our players he went off the boil under Moyes and simply hasn't been given a kick this season. So we have seen several of our players given a chance and push on this season, I fail to see that Rafael has dropped off so quickly especially without any game time to judge.

I'm a bit of a hypocrite here as I do think we should get rid of Januzaj, I suppose he has been given a lot more action though.

Rafael was a £25m full back 2 years ago, I don't see the point in spending that+ on a replacement without seeing him given a fair crack and when we have so many other places to strengthen. That said if his injuries are never going to clear up then we need to be astute as Valencia is not the answer, I just think Clyne could be a bit overhyped and may not yet be ready. Just my gut instinct from watching him a few times, rather have JaanMat to be honest.

it doesn't matter how good you are if you can't stay fit.
raf always looks an accident waiting to happen.
clyne would be better than raf imo

Rafael is too injury prone and way too rash . Good going forward but always a mistake or a red card in him .
I hoped he'd make the grade but he's had his chances and hasn't progressed

100 agree with Danny. Rafael even on his best day is not floe to cline. Clyne is a rock defensively and going forward offers the same.

{Ed002's Note - You might want to have a think about Cancelo as an option.}

We were saying the same about Smalling a couple of months ago. I just think he deserves a shot of regular football (I know he hasn't been fit much).

A lot of our players have struggled for fitness this season getting used to the regime, Rafael I am confident hasn't turned into this disaster some of us believe. A good pre-season and we have a £25m players in our ranks, that can do everything Clyne can do imo, spend the money elsewhere or at least wait until the start of the season.

Shaw has barely been fit either this season. I know I am quick to write off players, but I think Rafael has a lot to offer.

beast
is this the same beast who wants to sell half the team after every defeat .
raf has had injury issues since the day he has signed , i'm also not sure he has ever improved or progressed .

29 Apr 2015 16:39:54
Beast,

I agree with you. Rafael 2-3 years was great albeit a little but rash but the priblem he has has is thst he's had s poor team around him. He was doing the job if a rb rwb and rm with now support. Shen he played he gave the team that extra edge. Injuries have ultimately hampered his career.

But if we bought clyne i'd be happy as well. i'd like rafael to stay and let them both fight fir RB

Rafael used to be one of my favourite players, but he just can't stay fit. He is out for the season as it is and I can't even remember the last time that he played!

29 Apr 2015 18:07:28
Rafael is hugely overrated I think he will become as anonymous as his brother when he is shown the door. He is making the exact same mistakes now that he was making when he first broke through. Jumping into stupid tackles not staying on his feet poor positioning etc the basic requirements for a defender and his ball retention is poor for this level. Coleman is my preferred target although may be too expensive. Fergie always said his brother was the better prospect and was indeed preferred in a CL final over Rafael. Where is he now?

29 Apr 2015 20:25:52
Coleman for me. Might be expensive but with their interest in januzaj and maybe Chicarito to trade it could be possible.

{Ed025's Note - sounds like a decent trade to me porsche..

29 Apr 2015 20:40:59
Beast, I think every United fan would have Rafael as our starting right back if he could keep away from the injuries. Only problem is, he hasn't, for many years now. It hasn't been one odd injury plagued year where we could argue he deserves another year, he's been plagued by injuries year after year.

And I for one canno't deal with another season having to watch Valencia/Smalling at right back to be brutally honest with you.

We all thought Clyne was pretty much a done deal, but woth 002 saying that we may want to think about Cancelo, it makes you think obviously it wasn't as close as it was believed.
