Anybody else hate it how some players point to their name when they score? Chadli just did it and Vardy was going crazy for the back of his shirt the other day.

I appreciate there is emotion involved but I can't help think that it's almost a money thing, maybe they want better deals, should play more or are wanting a move etc. I just find it really distasteful. Basically saying "its all about me".

Just a pet gripe of mine I have started to notice a lot recently.

I prefer it when players over celebrate, weather its a money thing I don't now but I understand what u mean,

Like when teves scored for united againat city and put his hands on the side of his ears as if to say "wwhat you saying"

I think players getting booked when celebrsting with the fans is a joke.

Do they do that after they've stuck their thumb in their mouth, or after? I hate that one.

Totally agree Beast. Wilson did it last year when he scored his first goal too. A strange thing to do!

Are you Thierry Henry in disguise Beast?

It's almost a "do you know who I am?" Type thing, not my favourite, quite big headed.

asprillia goal celebration for newcastle was the best I've seen , think it was against barce.
he tied his shirt to the corner flag and waved it like a flag

I've scored goals at a lower level and afterwards people have said 'what the hell was that celebration?' And I have no idea what I did. When you score a goal you aren't thinking what you are doing, the excitement overwhelms you, so I have no problems with any celebrations at all, do what you want as long as you are happy you've scored you'll do for me.

Here in Australia the Ozzy football league, the AFL have banned clubs from putting names on the back of players jumpers because they say they don't want the game to become soley about individuals but about the team.

I didn't like it at first but I can see what they mean. You switch on a game on sky and the first 45mins of a 50min build up will be about one star player, not the lad who has overcome injury, the young kid getting his first start or the team collectively. How many times have we seen players running over to star players for their jerseys after the game or even half time? Is that what is really going through their mind during the game?

I've came off the field and have had no recollection of what exactly I did to score let alone my celebration. Can you imagine what it must be like to score at this level with that pressure? Easy to be self-righteous sitting on the couch,Beast

I'm pretty sure Mata did it this year when he wasn't getting played often
