If it's true and we are looking at a striker on January what's the chances of zlatan,

Isn't his contract up in the summer, I'd so wouldn't cost that much and could add some well needed brute strength up top.

spb

{Ed002's Note - Paris Saint-Germain would have been more than pleased to sell Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the summer and get his vast wages off the books. Milan would have been, and still are, open to some sort of deal but it would require some major financial issues to be resolved. Galatasaray came up with a package in the summer - but his agent rebuffed them. His agent spoke to an English side about his availability in the summer but they were not interested. The issue is his age and the wages he will demand, but that may not deter him seeking a one year deal in the summer of 2016 before perhaps looking at a year in the Middle East, or perhaps even the MLS. He won't be going anywhere in January unless a ridiculous offer is made.}

The thing that hurts the most watching us and the way we play is that if the shackles we're let go we could be blowing teams away in the first half of games.

Arsenals attacking players had the freedom to do what ever today yet every game this season our players have to stick to there job it's robotic.

We have players who can attack and create and score but all we seem to care about is stats and possession.

Maybe this is a wake up call needed because our next 3 games are very difficult and we could be looking at the most pivotal part of our season especially with cl games in between.

Martial tried to take people on and make something happen, but I expect that will stop when LVG has more to say to him. Look what has happened to Memphis - he was so direct in Holland, now he just comes inside like Young.

2.) 05 Oct 2015 17:00:18
fresh mate either u have never watched memphis or u are one of blame it on lvg brigade, memphis always cuts in he did it at psv he does it at utd nothing to do do with lvg, may be u should watch the player u r babling about before making comments.

3.) 05 Oct 2015 17:30:20
Memphis did not always cut inside at PSV, I have watched him enough times, so please stop babbling yourself.

4.) 05 Oct 2015 18:38:08
But he kinda did fresh lol.

5.) 06 Oct 2015 15:19:09
One of the main reasons Memphis looks so predictable and nullified is because when Mata is on the right, other teams who are playing a midfield 3 or two holding midfielders can afford to double up on him so easily, treble up if their winger does his job. Unless we play quicker ball he's going to be running in to brick walls every time. This has been highlighted more since Shaw's injury, whom he seemed to have some understanding with.

I think if Herrera played part of a midfield three we'd see a lot more out of Memphis. Every time I've been to OT this season, you can see him making great runs, he's either not picked out or picked out late.

Young was able to make the left wing position his own at the end of last season because we played to his strengths. Fellaini always looked for the ball at the back post, he had a good understanding with Blind and we played more cohesively and quicker as a team.

6.) 06 Oct 2015 16:42:57
Oh Nataniel

Mata gets double teamed too but he is intelligent enough to create space for himself and also retain possession by making a decent pass, Memphis on the other hand tries the same thing over and over again and loses possession and does not pass and when he does it is is a poor pass.

If you are the manager of an opposing team nullifying mata is a bigger priority than Memphis. A decent right back will show him the outside knowing he will not go there and his angles are all wrong when coming inside. He is a typical young winger with talent that has come form a lower league and used to beating lesser defenders but the PL is different story.

Mata will punish you if you give him time with that magic left foot.

7.) 06 Oct 2015 17:44:20
GCU

You're clearly one of those people that loves Mata no matter what. Firstly opposing teams from what I've seen do not pay him that much attention. You're right he does create space for himself but usually by drifting in to central areas and making our play less expansive and a little more predictable. He's also recently been helped by Martial making runs in between the centre back and left back, he did this a lot against Wolfsburg dragging Ricardo Rodriguez away from Mata and giving him space.

Nathaniel

I am not sure what games you watch, the games we have won is because Mata has been very very good and influential in those games, which is less than I can say for Depay. But people lie yourself have this love affair with this guys and want to make excuses for his poor play, every decent winger generally has 2 people he needs to deal with.

If he continue's doing the same thing over and over again that he is currently doing even the most blinded fans will have enough of it.

So so predictable i say and that is why he has a hard time at the moment, bellerin had him for breakfast all game and he is not world class but a good defender.

Mata against arsenal was marked very closely and was not allowed to dictate the game. Offensively he is the most influential player in the team period. Not Martial, not Depay and not rooney and not herrera who I like a lot.

that is why Mata leads the team in assists and might be our top scorer but not sure.

apparently both madrid and united are still trying to push the dea gea deal, uefa to look into it tomorrow.

spb

1.) 01 Sep 2015 00:22:14
I'd be surprised if an exception isn't made.

2.) 01 Sep 2015 07:14:11
Spain are extremely strict. They have already come out and said that the paper work was too late. Although Real Madrid have so much power in Spain, it will set a precedent as I'm not sure it has ever been allowed before.

3.) 01 Sep 2015 13:18:04
Get the feeling that Madrid have scuppered this deal.

Maybe they are going to try to get him for free next season, or the message has got back that the fans may have not been too keen on this move.

Leaves both De Gea and Navas in a bit of tricky situation now.

got to love the papers. a few weeks ago it was benzema to arsenal for 35 million, tomorrow its benzema to united for 50 million.

im giving up reading anything in the papers.

26 Jul 2015 20:35:58
Article of the day I've read is that "apprently" dzecko has turned down a 220k a week move to united

LOL, you just got to love the press they haven't a clue on anything.

spb

1.) 26 Jul 2015 21:15:19
That's as laughable as City been a big club :)

2.) 26 Jul 2015 21:30:46
Only 220k, i think we can get him for 250k. I thought that was the standard number we pay all incoming players according to the press :)

hopefully powell gets a start this weekend, mad to think he's still on 21 hopefully his injuries are behind him and he can show what he shown when we bought him.

spb

1.) 08 Jan 2016 13:56:30
Isn't he off to Forest?

2.) 08 Jan 2016 14:17:00
and injured?

27 Dec 2015 15:01:29
After eds post regarding the plans and future of the club (2017) we have got to stick with LVG we might be going through a bad patch but we're only 3 points of top 4 and plenty of games to go.

A good cup runs maybe even a cup and top 4 wouldn't be a bad season

Yes we all want the club to be up there winning the title playing the football we are used to watching.

But I'm afraid as ed as pointed out there is a plan and we must stick to it through the bad times not just good.

i do not understand how young does not start at RW.

spb

1.) 06 Dec 2015 02:18:46
Because he is terrible there. It follows no logic, but for some reason he is rubbish in both right. Left, yes. Centre behind a striker, yes. Up top, at a push. But for some inexplicable reason he never plays well right wing.

It's finally nice to see Jones and smalling at the back having a injury free run hopefully both stay fit and show us what we all hoped they would be.

Think jones is getting better every week, hopefully he can kick on now and put the injuries behind him.

red faith. people are constantly saying we should get a united manager and someone who knows the club and its values. who better than giggs?

not saying he is ready for management but every appointment is a risk.

i would hardly call it worrying, i could guarantee football fans in that part of the world have shirts for more than one club.

i think we had to act for depay earlier because of the psg interest.

we should be aiming for a partner for smalling and another cf.

if them 2 go we surely have to have players lined up, the squad will be far to small and not enough quality up top to challenge.

hummells would be nice in the deal with adnan.

Thanks again.

{Ed001's Note - no mate. If you are having problems, it might simply be the page not loading up fully before you are sending in your post. If the code for the submit button is not loaded in properly, then it will do nothing. It might be worth trying the other posting form, if posts are not coming through in future. Then let us know if they only show up on one form and not the other. If you can give Ed033 some details, such as what you are using ie phone, tablet, pc and the operating system and anything else you can tell him, it will help him fix it.}

{Ed001's Note - there is another longer one, but I think I held it for Ed002 to deal with. That came through afterwards so it may have been a problem that cleared up. We are making changes to the sites, so there have been some teething problems to deal with, sorry.}
