Just a question for the posters here.

We know of United’s interest in De Ligt (I know Ed002 has more or less confirmed that he won’t move here) and we also know that he is one Riola’s (spelling) client and how he is probably not the best agent to deal with.

Would you, as a club still pursue a player, knowing that in say 2-3 years, the agent would try and instigate a move or try and get his client a bigger payroll?

I know we signed Ibrahimovic and Mkhi who were also his clients, but would you be willing to let go a few potentially good players in order to not deal with such a person?

Apologies in advance if it sounds stupid or kidding, just food for thought, I guess.

Thanks.

Even Madrid don't deal with Raiola.

Either it's a coincidence, or it's something to think about.

{Ed002's Note - So you don’t think they are interested in Pogba. You must be over the moon.}

I would take De Ligt, he would massively improve out defence and it would then be down to the player if he wants to commit his future to us.

I assume Raiola would not try to make his client move if the player really wanted to stay at the club.

No I wouldn't deal with him. Not worth the hassle every two to three years.

I don't think you'll find many agents who won't look to improve their clients contracts on a regular basis. That is kind of their job.

However, some are more difficult to deal with than others Raiola being chief among them.

The fact of the matter is if you want the best players they will invariably come with the big name agents.

I would not deal with Mino. As we have seen he has far too much influence.

Youd love him as your agent though perthred. Boy does he seems to get the best deals for his clients.

I don’t know 002. I would hope so. But the only transfer news I believe is what you tell us.

Angel, sorry but no, I wouldn’t.
I don’t like dealing with snakes full stop. But that’s just me.

Mike, what makes him a snake?

11 Jul 2019 15:24:57
He doesn’t honour the deals that he agrees to in the first place. When an opportunity arises he will try to exploit it and move his player on. Clearly he has more to gain by doing that. In addition his ‘agents fees’ are higher than average which again incentivises him to move his players around when the opportunity arises.

And you don't think it's because his client might direct him to do that?

Scenario: Pogba makes it clear he wants to leave, what is raiola meant to do?

Theres a reason why he is the agent of so many high profile individuals. He is very good at getting the best deals and getting the players he represents the very best deals. It might piss off fans and clubs but it doesn't seem to bother many of his clients.
