Fantastic comeback and good match to watch. However, my post is around pogba. Gary Neville got it spot on when he said “His great weakness is that he plays like he’s playing in the park with his mates, ” I watched him last night and for the first time I thought, pogba at United is not going to work. He lacks effort, intensity, and he lacks understanding and chemistry with the rest if the team.
If you put pogba at City or Barcelona, he'll stand out for all the wrong reasons. His lack of effort and intensity.
I was Pogba's biggest fan and was delighted when he re-joined, but unless he starts concentrating more on football and less on the hair and social media, then I'm afraid he's going to be more of a hindrance than an asset. It's a shame as he possesses more skill than any other player we've got, but his application and commitment are lacking in a big way.

I hate when people attack Pogba for his media antics and relate that to his performance or lack of.

Is it difficult to understand that Pogba can actually give the intensity and dedication required without having to stop enjoying himself off the pitch.

So, what "hair" or "social media" issues do the thousands of non-performing players have?

How do players who are party animals or alcoholics manage to play so well because to me, these indulgences are more detrimental to a player's performance than dancing and having a good haircut. 🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️🤷🏽‍♂️.

People say those things out of frustration when a talented player cannot be bothered to work hard on the pitch, and fans cannot help notice that Pogba does put the time in at the barber shop and practicing his silly dance routines. A more serious pro would focus more on what it takes to win. Captains of earlier teams would surely have got in his face and tell him to drop the fancy stuff and get stuck in and win some tackles out there.

Why do many people want every player to run a round like a headless chicken flying into tackles all over the pitch?

Pogba is never going to be that player but he has the skills to do far more.

OK, hes's not in the best of form at present but the same can be said of the team in general. So what? get behind your team and do what a supporter is supposed to do - support!

I agree with yaz.

I am a huge fan of Pogba but his effort on second balls is unacceptable. He sticks a foot out when he ought to be using his whole body to win the ball. Far too many times last night he lost out on 50-50 balls from a half-hearted effort. These were plays right in front of him, it had nothing to do with him running around like a headless chicken or not.

I watched their first goal again. Pogba stood there and watched Townsend running free, before a halfhearted jog at the very end when it was too late. And it's not the first time he's been stood ball-watching. Really needs to buck his ideas up.

I agree with Attack. Ultimately if somebody isn't doing what they are capable of doing you have to look at the reasons why. It stands out like a sore thumb that Pogba 'appears' to have one eye on image in everything he does.

If he was playing well I couldn't care less what he does off the field as it is either not impacting his play or aiding it. However if he is playing poorly then it's perfectly reasonable to question what he is doing away from the pitch and ask why! Even if his PR thing is not the reason for his poor form, there isn't too much else for us to go on and any reasonable thinking person would come to the conclusion that he may not have the ability to juggle a celebrity lifestyle with an elite footballing career. It's down to Pogba to show us he can do both, although by the looks of things he spends more time down the hair salon than the training ground - it's not good to give off that appearance to your fans, true or otherwise.

Luke Shaw also looks like he is spending his spare time doing things he shouldn't be if his portly appearance yesterday was anything to go by. How much control do they have, what is their manager telling them, is it a question of them not respecting their jobs, manager, fans, or is it a deeper issue, I don't know, but I do know something stinks!

Agreed with zidaniel, noucamp and Beast. No one is asking pogba to slide into tackles. But we are asking him to put some effort in and sometimes inject a bit of pace. Is that too much to ask? I couldn't give a flying f. k what he does with his hair, providing he's concentrating on his career in football first. But his priorities seem to be misplaced. Ronaldo has an image bigger than the world, but he concentrates on his football first and the image follows.
Noucamp made an excellent observation about the first goal. I was shouting at pogba to challenge Townsend, but he just strolled around and allowed the shot to be taken.
As Beast says, someone needs to tell him what his priorities should be. Fergie would have kicked a certain boot in the direction of that hair. Basically players like him are saying, screw the fans and the team and let's just concentrate on making sure my image is right. To me, that is utterly ridiculous.

Forget his image. He's just not trying and strolling around the pitch. Couldn't give a stiff about the fancy stuff if he can't do the bare minimum defensively. We cannot excuse his pathetic attempts at defending with the odd fancy flick - especially when he is having so little end product recently.

Pull your socks up Pogba!
