What a breath of fresh air it was to have rashford and that pace he gives us up top.

Agree10 Disagree6

Yeah, and what a breath of fresh air that he couldn't finish one on one with the GK. Reminded me of another local lad who did the same and the beast was a huge fan. Welbeck.

True Shan, however Zlatan would still be on the half way line whilst Rashford had skinned the Chelsea defence to create the chance for himself. Swings and roundabouts mate, he missed but surely you don't judge a player on one miss, how many has the big man missed this season?

15 Mar 2017 14:06:18
Zlatan would played to his back to goal looked to pass it back.

Shan
Was it a bad finish? When ddg makes a great save do we say "poor finish "

Great bit of play imo and would of been goal of the season if the (worldclass) gk hadnt done his job and saved it.

Personally I prefer goals to pace. Pace does not win games goals do ( well as long as you score more than you let in)
Delighted to see him start the game let's hope he still gets the nod while ibra is out there is a school of thought that rooney would be jose's choice if fit ahead of Rashford. That would have given us even less pace but been supported by some. So the managers choice won't keep everybody happy all the time.
It was a chance he should have converted Shan but all strikers miss chances. He lacked his usual composure he usually places or slots those but he just blasted that effort straight at the keeper. It was still a good save. It was our only real chance. You can be sure if zlatan missed it those that moan about him would be up in arms. Same can be said for rooney if he missed it. Rashford played well overall with little or no service and did better than some would have expected with his back to goal, which is an area he will have to improve if he wants to play up to for Jose. For me he showed signs he could do just that.
Herrera was the plonker on Monday showing no composure no common sense no self control. But he has been superb all season so should get a pass for the error of judgement in my book.

Beast he did not skin the Chelsea defence he actually beat 1 player after a horrendous miss judgement by 1 of their defenders. Luiz I think. But don't let the truth get in the way of a good story 😂.

Ken, I respect your point of goals over pace. But playing with a player like Rashford as the #9 creates that threat in behind, stretches the defense for the midfield to play, and on average, should lead to more chances. And like you said, all strikers miss chances. I think we have faith in Rashford that he will become a striker who has the composure to finish consistently.

15 Mar 2017 14:36:19
And how many goals could rash score with a run of games at 9 .
Ibras goals have got us to 6th in the league with him playing as our spearhead our attacking united is by far the worse in the top 6th.

15 Mar 2017 14:54:25
Goal of the season jred? Why would it have merited that? He beat 1 player. Andy carol miki giroud and plenty of others were better it would not even have been the best goal last weekend.
Good save but also a poor finish. There are plenty of players that would not have given the same world class keeper an opportunity to save it. He chose to blast it I think rooney would have finished it with a dink as would others. If he had scored it would have been a good goal but not goal of the dragon or even goal of the month imo.

15 Mar 2017 15:04:32
Yer would of been right up the for me there for me .
I didn't think there was that much wrong with the finish either .

Carrolls was good miki like girouids as well . But you see them. type of goal.

But come tell it like it this is all about defending ibra.

15 Mar 2017 15:06:56
Rooney wouldn't of got there he would of turned the cb inside and out either .

What was the best goal last week.

15 Mar 2017 16:14:11
I am yet to be convinced by the lad so sorry that I saw it that way. If it was Zlatan in that position, that's a goal for sure.

15 Mar 2017 16:39:49
Shan - the point is Zlatan wouldn't have been in that position, he can't run that fast! In fact I doubt Zlatan would have had one chance against Chelsea the way we played, we wouldn't have created any for him.

Not sure how you can say "Goal for sure" with Zlatan considering his wastefulness in front of goal. He is just as likely to score as miss a sitter.

Rashford isn't the answer to Zlatan next season for me, but he is a good alternative if we need pace instead of presence. Besides the beauty of football is that not every game is the same, shame Jose see's Zlatan as first name on the team sheet irrespective of who we are up against, many times this season we could have done with a pacey striker as opposed to a Zlatan.

15 Mar 2017 17:37:20
I'm going out on a limb here, given how we have played this year I think Rashford would have bagged a hatful if he had been given a run.

15 Mar 2017 21:05:27
Ifs buts and maybes. Ibra has 26 goals this season. I know what I would have preferred.
