By all accounts the deal for Memphis has been done. £16m rising to £22m seems a good result, however there is also supposed to be a buy back and also a sell on clause. Suddenly we seem to have become a lot smarter in transfer dealings.

Red man,

It's great to see, 2 great deals in a week, I was getting tired of us seemingly get screwed over with every deal.

Very well said and if Depay shows the form that was expected of him then we will have a chance of getting him back.

{Ed025's Note - if he grows up and changes his attitude singh...he could turn out to be the very average player we all know he can be mate.. :)

I always wondered how Chelsea got great fees for bit part players schurrlle etc it seems mourihno is a clever chap I also love the idea of a buy back clause just in case he becomes the player we hoped he would all in all very satisfactory and I hope he does magnificently 😃

{Ed002's Note - Mourinho does not set transfer fees nor negotiate transfers.}

Yes it looks a good deal. There was a time signing players from the Dutch league was a bit like hit hit miss but now it's more like miss miss miss miss hit.
If he applied himself in the way that the best players do and focused he has obvious talent and could well make it but application is more about mindset and dedication than it is about gym work and selfies. Will the penny drop? When will it drop? Is he so wealthy now it doesn't need to drop? It's up to him

{Ed025's Note - your right about it being up to him ken, i would be happy if the lad proved me wrong and ended up having a glittering career but at this present moment i just cant see it mate..

Lolll Ed i guess you don't rate him at all. :)

{Ed025's Note - i think he has ability singh..pity about his brain mate.. :)

We still list a shed load on him. Bought him for £30m and selling him for £16m doesn't sound great.
I think mourinho has asked the powers that be to clear out the deadwood at any price so we can replace them with players that can actually United standard.
We've wasted a shameful amount of money in recent years on very average players. Shaw schneiderlin Depay di Maria Falcao darmian fellaini. It's time we got smart in the transfer market. I think Mourinho will ensure this happens.

I think we bought him for £25m rising to £31m with performance based add-ons - which I can't see all of which have been fulfilled. And it's reported to be £16m rising to £21.7m again, based upon performance and other factors. I feel that in both the Depay and Schneiderlin sales we have recouped a good chunk of what we paid. I personally was excited by both signings, and although neither have worked out, I don't feel we've lost out too much.

Shaw will hopefully fulfill his early promise he was awesome before his bad injury. Schneiderlin has bn unlucky because last year under LVG was a write off and this year the style Jose wants doesn't suit him. He is a good player

Schmid,

Picking out the figures that make it sound the worst just makes you look like you are trying to find a negative. If you include the full figure including add ons (which we haven't paid) one way then you have to include the full figure including add ons (which we may end up getting) the other way too. The deal is a very good one for a player that hasn't lived up to anywhere near expectations and needs to go and sort his head / career out elsewhere.

Good bits of business by United. If the amounts are to be believed the club will be making a profit on the balance of transfer fees after amortization and getting rid of close to £200k a week in payroll. Definitely making way for another big splash in the summer.
