Some of the papers are saying Jose wants a CM that is a leader. Who do you think fits the bill?
I think we will be looking for a DCM like Matic or Essien as we don't have that type of player in the squad other than perhaps TFM. Plenty of them around but not many that I would see as great leaders.

Krychowiak would be good, rumoured interest in Matic but that seems unlikely.
The one I would really love, probably getting on a bit now though, is De Rossi. Always been a fan of how he plays and the fight he shows.

Rumours of Koscielny and Kante both would fit in a jose team . Prob play 4.2.3.1.
I think you could also add a big name attacker to the jose wish list.

I'd be amazed if we signed Koscienlny, good player though. Kante too would be a fantastic signing.

Everybody wanted a tough tackling box to box, mobile cm, then bastian was available and everyone got wet for a big name.
Even if his attributes where not what was needed and really didn't fit with carrick .
Did anyone really think carrick bastian was a good cm pair? The answer is yes, because they wanted a "superstar name "
Now its ibra, people wanted a fast mobile striker who could play of the shoulder, stretch the opp run the channels .
In short not the attributes ibra has .
United are not anywhere near the finished article that just need some one special up top to add that bit of magic . Playing in the epl for united will be very different to pmaying in france for psg.
I don't think ibra is right for england or united . Even if he is a top player .
Just out of interest do people think leicester would of been half the team they with ibra as cf and not vardy?

Why? Really can't understand the negativity towards Zlatan, he wouldn't play every week, wouldn't hinder our younger players and would add that world class element that we are missing.

Zlatan is better than anybody already here even at his age imo. Is love to see him here. It's been to long since we have had a worlds class striker on our books.

Zlatan has aged in Italy, Spain, Italy, and now Francenone of which are particularly physically demanding. He's 34, is a big name who will expect to play which means Rashford probably won't get much of a look in (I'm not saying Rashford should any every game) .
Schweinsteiger was an expensive mistake, Falcao also. Whilst Ibra has had a good season and is a fantastic character, I worry he won't cope.
Jred nailed it. We have been banging on about pace and dynamism but are now getting wet knickers over the possibility of Ibra coming.

Krychowiak would be excellent. Kouyate is another who has been very impressive and I think would be a great signing.
Another who might be worth a look is Javi Martinez. He is a wonderful player, who has had a hard time with injuries, however, he can fill in at CB so this could allow us to only buy the one. Bayern are also going to have a CB leave this summer and it'll be one of him or Benatia who go.

We've been banging on all season about our lack of pace and lack of goals. Now we want to sign a slow 34 year old who has never played in the EPL? Sorry guys, just don't see the logic unless he is just a very expensive short term fix. He is a decent player, but not the messiah he is suddenly being made out to be.

I will bet anyone who wants the wager that if he comes he will bang in 20 pl goals next year and have a laugh. There are not many defenders anywhere who will handle him PL or not. He is unplayable sometimes no matter what league he is in.
Last time he played against Englands best he made a mockery out of them. I think people confuse smarts with age. Even CR07 does no running around anymore and almost no defending, so is he also past it at 33/ 34 or still good enough to bang in 20 goals in the pl?

He would be happy to sit on the bench and manage his body against the lesser teams in the league and meaningless league cup and fa cup games early rounds. We will potentially have 60 games next year, you think its wise to play an 18 year old and 19 year old in every game?

Teams like fast mobile wingers and many play with strikers who are all round but not necessarily fast. Based on your argument rooney should have been sold a while ago as he is not fast or mobile and very slow to get off the mark and takes too many touched around the box.
Just a question for you when was the last time we won the league without a quartet of strikers? I know the answer to that BTW and also the years we came up short how many strikers did we have, go check it out there is pattern there and fergie was a genius in figuring out how to get his number of goals and had many different type of strikers?
We will struggle for top 4 next year if we don't have a top striker signed before the end of the summer. The debate i guess is if people think Zlatan is still a top striker or not and who else is available.
Doing nothing is an absolute no no imo.

Over the last 10 years if fit ibra plays .
Martial and rash are only 2 off our players we do have others but the big issue here is, there are other players out there to buy not just ibra.
There are players that some feel would be a better fit and a better investment than ibra .
1 example, i would take griezmann every day over ibra . Good age, quick, can play across the front 3, works hard for the team, gives you more options than ibra, has time to adapt to the epl, has a game that should suit the epl.
Also could be a part of a front line in linders rash martial griezmann depay that can gel over time .

I think rooney showed we need pace up top, i think other strikers have shown that's what works in the epl .
Its why rooney has been more of a 10 and why he is now prob going to have to play cm .
I don't think we need a quartet of strikers imo them days have gone few teams play 2 strikers its one up top now .
Teams have players who can more than 1 position .
I have put it in another post but ibra isn't the only striker out there and while a good player i don't think he is what we need or would suit the epl, .
At 35 years old i don't think a short term fix is the best way to build a team either .
People talk about rash but martial is the star of the show and the future imo we should be building for the future .

Even with Griezeman, there games where young rashford will struggle as he has done this year and we need another Striker. Would you buy Higuain for 75 mill or Benzene for 50 million, lukaku for 80 mill, Morata for 45 mill all euros if the numbers being touted are true or Zlatan on a free for a year or 2.
There not many strikers available and some of the numbers being talked about is nuts.

X I've been a massive fan of higuain to be honest. For various reasons i think benz might go a a fair price .
Lukaku for 80 is daft imo but if you break the deal down to cost per year he would prob be cheaper than ibra .
I would have martial as the main striker he has 12 month in the epl playing in a team that struggled to make chances and think he will kick on next year .
We defo need another attacking player but i would go for someone who gives us something for the next 5 year and gives us different options .
If we go for a short term fix like ibra we need to buy again next season, instead of having a player that has 12 month in the epl and is ready to kick on for the 4 or 5 .
Even depay may look good after getting 12 month under his belt .
