The season just got so much worse! First the Berties yesterday and now the Scousers making it to the semis of the 2 European Cups. Looks like 4th place might not be enough to guarantee Champions League next season. : (

Really good game. I hate to say it - but it reminded me somewhat of us in the 90's. A real battling performance.
If Liverpool can sort out their defense they will be pretty competitive next season.

GPM - we won't get 4th so it'll just knock Arsenal or City out - isn't really an issue for us.
All I can say is I wish we had a manager with passion that inspired his team to come from behind, rather than sit still, make notes, make rubbish subs and criticise young players / anyone but himself.

So infuriating to watch them playing entertaining passionate football under a fantastic manager. Shows how much difference a good manager makes. The scousers will be a force next season. Klopp will attract top players to them. Worrying times.

At least I won some money on them although it was originally 14/ 1 when I went to bet but they scored again and the odds dropped. Not often I get pleasure out of Liverpool winning.
Although have been written of the family will for betting on Liverpool to win ;)

I thought the Europa winners get a free pass to the champs Lg that doesn't affect the top 4?
Spain had 5 teams in it this year, I assume because Sevilla won Europa last year?

This has been explained so many times and a simple google would find you the answer but here goes again:
If City win the Champions League and Liverpool win the Europa League and both finish outside the top 4 then only the top 3 in the Premier League will be in the Champions League next season. 5 is allowed, 6 isn't.

FZZ, if City come 4th and Liverpool win the Europa League then top 4 including City plus Liverpool (5 teams) will be in the Champions League.
Fresh, what I meant is even if we do somehow manage to nick 4th even then it might not be enough for a Champions League spot if Liverpool (and probably City) win. I so badly want us to get to the Champions League at City's expense, would love to see Pep in the Europa League.
