From some of the posters on this site you'd think West Brom are the new barcelona.

Bloody hell guys, some of you are really predicting us to lose? Come on nobody expects us to lose this, it's in our hands to do that but if anyone were to place a bet on this game (Including West Brom fans) they would most likely put us down to win, shows some bloody faith.

I'm going for a strong performance and could see a few goals, 3-0 or 4-0 for me.

Agree5 Disagree1

Jake,

But they have the world class Jonny Evans at the back, we will never score, 0-0 at best.

People have very short memories, ask a few people on here they will tell you we have drawn every game 0-0 all season with hardly any goals, whereas in fact before this little run of tricky fixtures (which we all accepted beforehand would be tough) we were scoring 3 goals per game and playing some decent stuff.

I imagine people are just feeling a bit nervous about the game because we haven't scored many recently, but I like you feel like we could win the next couple of games 3 or 4-0 and shut a few people up.

Problem is, if we do that, half the people will come on here and say 'well it was only West Brom and Watford, we should be beating them 4-0, we are Manchester United', so we can never win really.

I do think we will win but from a betting point of view a 0 - 0 is a good bet to place we have struggled to score goals over the last few games and if you look at WBA record since Pulis took over they have kept something like 15 cleansheets in 27 games or something like that anyway they will set up compact and defend deep so there is no space behind them and not venture out unless its a quick break so just like the palace game it will be a lot harder then it reads on paper.

You know several posters have already started writing essays on all the negatives for the game against West Brom. If and when we beat them comprehensively, like u, i also think we will score 3, people will disappear from the page. You won't see many happy faces as most only wish to moan and deep down pray that we don't play well or even worst, we lose, so that they have lots to write about.
I remember, post the everton game, the page was almost deserted.

Anyways, hope we thrash WBA and shut a few for a week atleast.

If the team plays with a bit of ambition - like the first half against Moscow - then sooner or later united will give somebody a right smashing.

Shan if you honestly believe that you are no United fan.

06 Nov 2015 13:10:25
Shan - after Palace you said you were joining the dark side? Make your mind up mate.

Everyone wants us to batter WBA, but it would be a pleasant surprise if we did. A few years ago it would have almost been expected.

After Everton all the so called critics were on here praising the performance, and most of us were at half time during the CSKA game which was 0-0 at the time. Who cares about truth hey? !

06 Nov 2015 13:26:13
maze i don't get it, why is shan not a utd fan because he said he wanted us to thrash wba.

06 Nov 2015 13:44:57
Bookedredmole - don't look for logic. If it sounds negative, MAZE will post it.

06 Nov 2015 14:11:38
Bookedmole/PointlessHarry - my point is no proper United fan would in thier right state of mind think that other United fans want the team to lose. So what is negative about that? The word negative used by all the high horseman is the only negative in most threads.

Like the beast says every Tom, Dick and Harry come on here when we play well and comment about how pleased we are with the performance. The Everton game has been the best I have seen in almost 3 years. I am happy to hold my hands up and say that the team played well or the manager got it right but unfortunately that hasn't been the case most weeks.

maze i understand now cheers. hadnt really thought about fans in that way as suppose its not outside of the realms of possibility that in unique situations that may fit their agenda. Not something i would ever do and would condone it too like yourself but i have known it happen with players albeit further down the pyramid than top 4 leagues.

I think we'll win but by the odd goal. Wba always give us problems and have done at OT in the recent past.
I would also like to know if anyone remember them beating us 5-3 at OT in the 70s. Cyril Regis and cunningham scored and it was an amazing match. Although we lost, it was one of the most entertaining games I've seen.

06 Nov 2015 19:37:21
I think until we start creating an acceptable number of scoring opportunities and score on a consistent basis, people can not be blamed for not having the most rosy outlook.

the form book says it will be tough going. 15 goals in 11 games is not an anomaly but a trend unfortunately.

I would not underestimate them and although I like to believe it will be a routine win, i think it will be slim pickings and tight as usual.

06 Nov 2015 19:51:23
Shan, I've seen you comment about how poor the side is and your crossing over to our way of thinking, we win a game and the next week were world class. Why is it obsurd for some people to expect we might struggle? With 1 goal in 4 games stats point to another hard fought game. People suddenly think we're going to start scoring 4's and 5's again just like that. If they come and park the bus we will struggle to break them down. After the Everton game there was plenty of positive posts. So why can't we post after a poor result? Some people like to think everything's fine and were on the right track. All I can say is let's se where we are at the end of the season then see if so many people still think we're making great progrsss.

06 Nov 2015 22:19:50
Stand,

You would do well to heed your own advice there pal, why not wait to the end of the season before we start needlessly complaining and see where we are?

Schmidfield

Yes I remember the 3.5 West Brom game well, Regis and the late Laurie Cunningham ripped us a new one. It was about 78 I think with Sexton as manager but wasn't Ron Atkinson West Brom manager at the time? Perhaps the football he played then got him our job a couple of years later? We likely chose him based on the hope for a style of football instead of winning the league.

GDS stop being sensible. It's not allowed here!
