Rooney, he is about to break the england goalscoring record. Does anybody actually think he is an all time english great?
Personally, i believe the lad to be an english great and a Utd legend. His play might frustrate most of the time, but you can't help think he's trying his hardest 9 times out of 10. Love him or loathe him, what are peoples thoughts?

He has to be, in 30 years time people won't remember the consistently sub-standard performances, they will just look at the record books and see highlights of the great goals.
I saw a montage of Rooney's best goals the other day and thought "wow, what a player he was". Only a legend could still be cashing in on their reputation to the extent Rooney has.
I don't like him and I don't rate him anymore, but he was special and to be top scorer of club and country is a great achievement.

Do we really need to have this debate again? I think we have done it to death this year. Some love him and think he a legend, some think he is good, some think he is average (yes really), some think he has never fulfilled his potential, some dislike him for demanding a move, some dislike him for his unsavoury off field behaviour. We can debate it but people are pretty entrenched in their opinions.

For a lot of fans now no, but I agree, in years to come people will just look at the records and he will be put up there with Charlton etc, rightly or wrongly.
