I would just like to clear a few things up in regards to the 'LVG haters'. Firstly there is no 'LVG haters' as they have been labeled, there was folk irritated by our spineless performances, our anti football and our gaffers very odd speeches. Since the Spurs game he has had nothing but plaudits from everyone including those labeled 'LVG haters' and rightly so.

So for individuals to be labelled as 'LVG haters' or 'the doom mongrels' when they can applaud as well as give out criticism is lost on me. I have also seen certain people write things like 'LVG haters can't wait for us to lose so they can have their say'. To those folk I say have a word with yourself. Even the most staunch opposer of the manager would never want our team to lose.

I personally am pleased to see us play the way I knew we could but do I think it could have 'clicked' sooner? Yes. Could some of those eye watering drab draws have been wins? Yes. If the gaffer got his house in order sooner could he have made himself a legend at OT by leading a team who finished 7th to the title? Maybe. But that is in the past and at the minute we are in fine fettle and long may it continue.

Just remember we are all fans cut from the same cloth - be that optimistic or pessimistic - , we all want the same thing and have the club's interests firmly at heart.

I disagree there's been plenty of posts slagging the manager off and not just about the football that was being played.

JMB,

You might not be a hater but that doesn't mean there haven't been plenty of them on here, especially after defeats. Jaime comes on after every game we don't win calling lvg a loser and saying he should be fired. There have been times when certain people have had nothing nice to say and the back tracking at the moment by certain people is laughable.

Nobody has ever said you don't have the clubs interests at heart, but some people would not listen to the people who were saying let's just wait and see, there is a good chance it will come good, these people were shouted down and told they were apologists and the 'realists' knew what was really happening. So you can't blame the 'apologists' now that it looks like they were correct and the 'realists' are back tracking like hell.

I'm not blaming anyone GDS. There are optimists and pessimists that is life but to say statements like 'the doom mongrels can't wait for us to lose' or words to that effect is just embarrassing and ludicrous.

I could count on one hand, the number of people on this site who've called for LVG to be sacked during the season. Let's not blow things out of proportion just to to start an argument.

Gds2 let's have it right it's taken 9 months for us to have anything to be upbeat about in the way of performances and it seems we have only got there because LVGs hand was forced. If it wasn't for injuries and suspensions, RVP would be up front with rooney in CM and mata and Herrera on the bench. So whilst I admit I probably shouldn't post straight away after some terrible performances I think most of us so called LVG doubters have good reason. I don't believe seasoned internationals like rooney, di Maria or mata have taken 9 months to understand a footballing philosophy of how to play a specific strategy. Whilst it's good to see the team play well and get some results I still think there are a lot of managers who would have done just as good or better given the resources and time LVG has had. Let's hope we achieve champs league qualification and see what happens in the summer, there can be no excuses next season if we are not competitive for top honors.

Jamie I don't agree with everything you post mate but that is a decent post. At least you have given your reasons rather than just attacking the manager with silly comments. Fair play.

Odd speaches?

Jaime,

That is the best post you have ever made, people will respect your opinion more if you back it up with an argument and don't come across like you are telling people what to think. Me and JMB rarely agree but I respect him a lot, the same goes for beast, I'm sure down the pub we would have a good chat and put the world to rights, but your posts have always been so negative and only after a defeat so it's impossible to respect someone who only does that.

One last point to everybody on the site, it is doom mongers, not doom mongrels, I've seen this creeping in a few times and for God sake these people might be miserable when we lose but they are not dogs!

Hear hear GDS!

GDS cheers pal i think for the remainder of the season i will wait to calm down after a match before posting lol. I just had so much expectation after LVGs appointment especially after the shambles under Moyes. i didn't expect we would dominate the world i just thought we were going to be entertained with good attacking football and start to look like a solid club with direction again. So when we produced some of the worst performances i remember seeing since the start of the EPL i felt the need to vent which i agree in most cases was just an over exaggerated rant. Hopefully although very much belated, maybe through accident or fan pressure it seems LVG has finally managed to persuade the players or himself of a style that produces results and fits into the culture of our club. If we achieve champions league qualification i will overall regard this season as a step in the right direction, however given the financial backing I will expect a lot better next season in terms of being a real competitive force and i ' think there can be any excuses come next May.
