I'll get back to the basic point that unless there's a solid structure behind the manager, it really doesn't matter who the manager is. He will fail. The manager is not, nor should be, responsible for scouting, assessment and transfers, nor the prices paid, contact renewals. He is a part of the process only, albeit an important one.

So speculation about ETH's future, or his replacement, is of minimal interest to me at this time. That said, even though it looked to me like Poch was starting to turn things around at Chelsea, as of yet he's really failed to deliver anything more than expected wherever he's been. No titles as Spurs, and failed to take PSG over the hump. If United don't get the back room in place, he, like ETH, or anyone else, will fail to take us back to the top.

Won the league and a cup at psg and lost a cl semi final. So did what the other managers at psg achieved.

I’ve completely switched off to the whole ‘is he staying, is he going’ saga. I couldn’t care less who’s next in the hot seat. I just want to see the club operating like a world class football club again. When that’s happening, we’ll get the correct man in place to win trophies again.

Tumbleweed, I would argue that his record at PSG was no more than would have been expected of any manager there. Had he won the Champions League, he would have truly burnished his credentials. As it is he's shown himself thus far as no more than a good but by no means exceptional manager.

Very difficult for psg to win the cl tbf Shaw hard to raise your level when not competing with top teams weekly.
Poch for sure has not proved himself as a great manager. A good manager yes a great no.
But we don't need a manager that has been great we need one that will be for us.
We need a manager who is better than eth and poch falls into that category imo.
I very much doubt it will be poch but I'd be more than happy if he got the opportunity.

Shaw, I think it's significant that SJR last week said words to the effect of 'we've had many managers, all of whom have not been truly successful, even some who have been very successful elsewhere before they came here. The one constant behind everything is the poor infrastructure, not built to support the manager. Until we have a proper infrastructure in place, any manager would struggle. '
To me, it sounds like he may well keep ETH, at least for next season, but then again, with a plethora of managers now available I could be miles off.
