Seen a quote from Raiola stating that Manchester United interests Mkhitaryan.
Any substance or is it just nonsense? Would be great for us on the right.

Thanks for the reply and info 001. I would hope United are interested in that case, seems keen and a great player. No stupid figures being being banded around. Would be a shame to see him go elsewhere in the premiership. I thought Arsenal had him pretty much tied up by all accounts.

Definitely an interesting development however I can imagine a lot of players want to move to United. Doesn't mean we're interested in those. Can't remember Manchester United being mentioned in any snippets provided regarding Mkhitaryan. Perhaps interest has moved to him as we couldn't work out a deal for somebody else. Oh well I can dream! Thanks for your time anyway 001 much appreciated.

Do you see this as something that could happen? Dortmund have come out and said they won't sell him. Just posturing to get him to make a transfer request and give up on the loyalty bonus? Posturing to get a better transfer fee? Or a genuine determinatiom to hang on to him due to fan pressure? The last time they forced a player to stay against his will it was Lewandowski and they had to give him a massive pay rise to do so.
They already have Ousmane dembele who seems a like for like replacement too.
What is your opinion?

It's amazing how many United fans underestimate the appeal of the club to very good players. We can't sign all of them though and the squad is well stocked in his position.

Thanks for the reply. The United interest seems very recent doesn't it perhaps at Mourinho's request? Also I doubt Raiola would so publically name Man United specifically unless he knew an offer was on the table?

Looking at Dortmund formations it looks like he has been played in most positions left, right, behind striker and as striker!
Sounds ideal for Mourinho who likes a fluid 3 behind the striker.

Whilst I don't doubt that Mkhitaryan wants to join United because of the clubs standing, it is also likely due to the fact that Utd are probably one of the few clubs that would be willing to match his wage demands.
