A few days ago I seen that a someone had blasted some ex Liverpool pundits and in particular Phil Thompson saying he had no clue and was completely biased in regards to his selection of a combined current United and Liverpool team based on current form. To this I replied that Milner was currently the better perfoming full back between him and Luke Shaw which again I got the usual respose.
Now I see that Former Arsenal man Alan Smith has released his joint United and Liverpool team which only contains 4 United and 8 Liverpool players. So is he also super biased and anti United? I had a look at his list and you know I thought it was pretty spot on as things stand. In fact I would swap out Smalling for Matip.
I think that is where United are currently at.

Give it a rest Maze. Shaw is much better than Milner and the only reason Milner has been performing better is cause Shaw hasn't played. Every time he has he's look much better.

Maze bases his views on the exact opposite of what JMB says. Rollo is somewhere in the middle of the two.
But since the great Alan Smith says Milner is a top class lb, it must be true. It's not as if the great man would name a midfield three of Viera, Lampard and Alexi Sanchez in his all time Arsenal/ Chelsea xi defining both logic and factual positioning.
Milner has done okay as a makeshift lb. But he'll be back on the bench as soon as Liverpool sign an actual lb. it's like the time pundits started calling him the next Messi when he played a few games for City as a false 9.

Maze phil thompson was rightly blasted because if you are going to include milner ahead of shaw because he has played better this season, then how can you include smalling ahead of bailly and matip who have had far better games and how does clyne get ahead of valencia, valencia has been better than clyne this season. I won't include valencia ahead of clyne as i think clyne is a better rb but then same goes for milner and shaw, but if you are going to take form for the season as a parameter for 1 position you should be doing the same for every position, can't switch to who i think is best for other to support your view then.
