Really pleased with what Jose had to say. I think we have seen the last of Rooney in midfield which is a real positive.
Many of us fans have been saying it for some time while some were blind and continued to insist he was performing to a high standard in midfield for both club and country. I doubt he will be standing over free kicks and corners 40 yards from goal anymore let's hope He can tree kindle his form and begin to justify his presence in the team based on his play as opposed to his reputation.
Really positive talk from Jose if he gets the cm he wants then we are in great shape.
I'm sure there will be at least one more signing based on whatever players are sold t
We have the right man in the right place at the right time.
It's onwards and upwards from here.
Can't wait for the season to start. It's going to be competitive in the extreme just the way we like it.
TFM is my outside Bet for young player of the year.

You missed the last line: Take that jred lol.

05 Jul 2016 15:11:20
Mulamno, everybody is entitled to their opinion if we all agreed on everything there would be much less activity on the site.
Jred is not alone in his view on rooney as I'm not in my view. I hope that he excels under Jose because that would be good for the team. But I hope if hee doesn't he gets no favours as that is best four the team.

05 Jul 2016 16:02:06
Everyone thinks it's a positive Rooney won't be playing deep no more.
When he was moved in thr middle, most people where over the moon. he's a no.10 but not a prolific no.9 by any standards!

05 Jul 2016 16:17:09
Back at 10 where he belongs then.

05 Jul 2016 16:18:37
Mulam
Nail on the head pal.

05 Jul 2016 16:45:22
I think its Jose that hit the nail on the head pal.

05 Jul 2016 16:55:10
Come on ken don't tell me your not looking for a bite and another argument .
A lot of people seem to of missed out keys parts such as
"I think in football there are many jobs. The hardest to find is the one who puts the ball in the back of the net, "
, for me, he will never be a No.6. He will never be 50 yards from goal"

I think it is nailed on we will be buying someone for the 6 or 8 role to allow rooney back up top .
Cos let's be honest bastian and co where no better last year.

05 Jul 2016 17:22:19
Up top? No that's for ibra rashford or martial jred. He will get a chance to become the support striker or 10 but he won't be up top those days have gone.
If he plays well there and is scoring and creating them I'm sure he will keep his spot which is as it should be. But equally at last we have a manager that will drop him if he is not performing and that is how it should be. So it will be up to him to play well not just turn up. He had not played well for a few years imo but I'm hoping he does but I'm more relaxed knowing he won't just be picked in any opposition just to get him into the team. He has to be doing well to keep others out of that 10 position.

05 Jul 2016 17:25:31
I'm not looking for an argument at all I'm just glad that we have a manager now that is big enough to say what most of us see and that is that Rooney is not a midfielder. He needs to be in and around the box scoring goals. Not taking corners and free kicks that go nowhere. If he scored and creates them he is doing his job if not Jose will ask someone else to do the job.

05 Jul 2016 17:34:26
Ken it how ot should be .
Last season when he played cm i would of picked him because he was playing better than the other players in that position .

As i have said many times someone needs to force him out, if jose drops him you won't see an argument of me.
I won't be making up excusses .
But it will be interesting to see if jose picks him, if the site has to put up with an other year of daft reasons why he shouldn't play, or if people accept the managers decission. Unlike when moyes, woy or lvg did

Its the double standards that has always been my gripe when it comes to rooney .

05 Jul 2016 17:46:27
I'm of the same opinion as you Ken. I do really hope he can rekindle Rooneys form and hopefully as a number 10 but I do have my reservations.

If he doesn't manage to do the business there, I think we finally have a manager that will drop him.

05 Jul 2016 17:54:03
I agree jred but the one thing that Roy lvg and moyes have in common is that they all failed miserably. They all tried to fit Rooney into their team despite awful form and not by playing the best please years in their best positions.
I don't have double standards when it comes to Rooney if he is the best man available for the job in hand then play him.
However if someone is doing a better job than him in his position don't try and play him somewhere where he can't play
Bastian herrera Morgan are all much better midfielders than Rooney. Fellaini is not imo.

05 Jul 2016 18:18:48
Ken
Imo herrera has struggled in the epl for 2 seasons he has never really taken his chance .
Bastian has looked awful when he was fit enough to play and morgan was average .
Like lvg i would of played rooney ahead of them . I also think lvg was in a good position to make the call .
I think he was the best man available in the 7 or 8 games he played there he played well.
Rash and martial where better than rooney up top.

Same for england vardy and kane deserved to start even if kane was awful i would of played ali and dier but for me wilshere and henderson have hardly kicked a ball so again i would of picked rooney over them 2.

I think for some people its anyone but rooney.

05 Jul 2016 18:50:25
Then you would have been just as wrong as Roy.

05 Jul 2016 19:01:55
Ken
Thats the difference i'm just a supporter on a site giving an opinion .

You think you no better than the pros .

05 Jul 2016 19:13:36
No I'm just giving an opinion.

05 Jul 2016 19:17:24
Lol
Come on ken your right roy was wrong .
Your always right pal.

05 Jul 2016 19:25:18
Drinkwater and Nobel are better midfielders than rooney and because Roy knew Kane vardy sturridge and rashford were in better form as strikers he left out better midfielders to accomdate Rooney.
Hee feel on that sword as the whole team looked unbalanced and failed.

05 Jul 2016 19:27:48
And for some people it has to be Rooney but the guys who choose that route are both out of a job. That says it all.

05 Jul 2016 19:35:28
How did it work out for Roy jred? I think its sagfe to say he got it wrong? Or did he resign for getting it right too often. Think your making a fool of yourself again pal. Quite a common occurrence.

05 Jul 2016 19:38:11
Ken as always that just a very simple opinion and you making excusses why your right and everyone else is wrong .
Again its not all about rooney (apart from your world) there are other players .
I could talk about the england set up tactics the fact kane and others looked tired .
The fact rooney wasnt picked over noble or drinkwater more henderson or wilshere . who played 141 minutes all season .

But the only opinion you ever have is rooney . Everyone of your post are about him or a dig at him
You don't have another opinion.
Honestly i don't know why i reply to your post . I think its because you troll everyone of mine . Every post on both banter pages today . Its boring a spoils the site for others.

05 Jul 2016 19:51:05
Troll your posts? I agreed with a point you raised today and yesterday. You take things too personally fella. I will post my opinion No matter who it differs from. If you counter that opinion I will try and validate my point of view the site is all about debates and opinion I'm not ruining anything.

05 Jul 2016 20:13:54
Ken
Im making a fool of myself lol
You have followed everyone of my post wih a troll.
And your one post as mulam pointed out waz just looking for a bite.

Look above its just rooney rooney roo ey . ken right kens right .

Honestly i don't think roy left drinks and noble out the squad to accomadate rooney.
Noble couldn't get in the squad when rooney was playing up top . Or when he was injured and wasnt even in the squad .
Rooney was still playing up top for england after the squad was picked with others playing where noble or drinks would of played .

But there is no banter about footy with you it is just rooneys fault and your right.

05 Jul 2016 20:42:03
In the blue corner, weighing in as one the sites most consistent posters and Rooneys no.1 fan, jaaaaayyyyyred!

In the red corner, a man who is no stranger to a but controversy and wants to see Rooney dropped! Keeeeeennnnnn!

It's Rooney time!
